An NGO working for protection of men’s rights has come up with a unique mobile application and a dedicated helpline number to help men in distress.

Save India Family Foundation, the NGO whose Kolkata chapter is known as “Hridaya-Nest”, developed the app keeping in mind a growing tribe of males who are becoming victims of the alleged misuse of Section 498a of the IPC and anti-rape laws.
The app named ‘SIF’ was launched in April.

Himalaya enters into men’s grooming segment with face wash

Herbal health and personal case firm the Himalaya Drug Company today announced its entry into the men’s grooming segment with the launch of face wash.

The company said men’s personal care market in India is pegged at Rs 3,800 crore and growing at 21 per cent annually.

“With the men’s range, we aim to replicate our success in the face washes category … we are also looking to expand the men’s range soon,” the Himalaya Drug Company Business Head – Consumer Products Division Rajesh Krishnamurthy said.

Mobile phones could make men infertile

Men, who keep a mobile phone in their trouser pocket, could be affected with male fertility, according to a new study led by the University of Exeter.

A team led by Dr Fiona Mathews, of Biosciences at the University of Exeter, conducted a systematic review of the findings from ten studies, including 1,492 samples, with the aim of clarifying the potential role of this environmental exposure.

The researchers found that this proportion fell by an average of 8 percentage points when there was exposure to mobile phones and similar effects were seen for sperm viability.

A new study has revealed that hungry men find bigger women more attractive especially those with fuller breasts.

Dr Viren Swami, of Westminster University said that hunger can change a person’s perception of who is attractive, so a man prefers slightly larger breast size in women and as for women they also prefer a slightly heavier man.

A new study suggests that teenagers will not go within 22ft of their fathers when they are out in public.

Researchers found British teens like to keep an “exclusion zone” around their dads, fearing they will be seen by friends, the Daily Star reported.

The poll of more than 500 kids by greeting card chain Clintons also found the average father drives 627 miles a year ferrying teens to and from parties, often late into the night.

`Pill for males` still a bit far away

Male contraceptive pill will have to wait

The much speculated birth control pill for males may not see the light of day soon as researchers have found that hormonal male contraception via testosterone does not stop the production of healthy sperm.

The problem actually lies in optimal dosing of testosterone, the study showed.

The study involving mice showed that a previously developed male hormonal oral contraceptive method (via testosterone) is unable to stop the production and/or the release of sperm.

A new study has revealed that psychological stress is harmful to sperm and semen quality, affecting its concentration, appearance, and ability to fertilize an egg.

According to a study led by researchers Columbia University’s Mailman School of Public Health and Rutgers School of Public Health, men who feel stressed are more likely to have lower concentrations of sperm in their ejaculate, and the sperm they have are more likely to be misshapen or have impaired motility, which may diminish fertility.

Sugary drinks may lower semen quality

Sugar-sweetened drinks such as soda can lower semen quality, a new study has found.

Researchers have found that high consumption of sugary drinks is associated with low sperm motility, or sperm movement – but this was true only for healthy, lean men.

The researchers found no relationship between sugary drink consumption and sperm motility in overweight or obese men.

Man with stolen GPS calls police for help after getting lost

A man from US, who stole GPS (Global Positioning System), was arrested after he called police to ask them for help because he got lost.

Andrew James Joffe was unaware that a warrant had been issued for his arrest on driving offences when he contacted the authorities in Polk City, Florida, Metro.co.uk reported.

Grady Judd, Sheriff of Polk County said that they had people with warrants who called them to turn themselves in before, but it was unusual for someone with an active warrant, who just burgled a car, to get lost and calling them for help.
