Deoband fatwa on investment in share market

Outlining six norms for investment in capital market by Muslims, Islamic seminary Darul Uloom Deoband has said followers can invest in the equity of a company which is not involved in production of liquor and interest-based businesses.

Mufti Fakhrul Islam while issuing a fatwa said Muslim can invest in those companies which have movable as well as immovable properties.

The seminary said that a part of the profit should be distributed among the poor. Besides, it has also advocated for taking informed decisions before making investments in the equity market.

Debunking the government’s claim that the number of poor in India has come down, a top adviser has claimed that around 70 percent of the country’s 1.2 billion population is poor, and stressed the need for a multi-dimensional assessment of poverty.

Yale University researchers found that exposure to mobile radiation during pregnancy affects the brain development of babies, leading to ADHD.

ADHD is a development disorder characterized by inattention, hyperactivity and impulsiveness.

“We have shown that behavioral problems in mice that resemble ADHD are caused by mobile phone exposure in the womb,” said senior author professor Hugh Taylor.

Give details on interrogators in Israeli car blast: Court

A court here Saturday asked Delhi Police’s anti-terror unit, special cell, to furnish names of investigators who questioned Israeli embassy car blast accused Syed Mohammad Kazmi. Interrogators gave a report denying his harassment.

Chief Metropolitan Magistrate Vinod Yadav said a detailed reply had to be filed by the special cell about the uniform of its personnel.

The court’s remark came on a petition by journalist Kazmi, 52, currently in police custody. The accused alleged that officials of some foreign investigating agency also interrogated him.
