Hyderabad, June 10: Govt of India is making efforts to frame a new Industrial Policy which will facilitate the growth of Industry. It will reduce the compliance cost also and labour law will be made flexible. A committee is drafting the policy document under the chairmanship of Dr. Manmohan Singh. Under this policy a Land Bank will be constituted which will make acquisition of land for industrial purposes easy. Under the labour management laws, unwritten laws will be promoted.

Tussle ends, CET counselling begins

Bangalore, June 10: The nagging disagreement between Karnataka Government and the private professional colleges over the fee for professional courses and seat matrix, ended today, with both signing an agreement in the presence of Minister for Higher Education V S Acharya.

Addressing a press conference here, Dr Acharya said the Consortium of Medical, Engineering and Dental-Karnataka (COMED-K) had agreed for sharing the seat on the ratio at 50:50.

Bengal to recruit 46,000 teachers: Mamata

Kolkata, June 09: The West Bengal government will soon recruit 46,000 teachers for primary schools across the state, Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee announced Wednesday.

“We have decided to recruit 46,000 teachers in primary schools in Bengal. The finance department has also endorsed the proposal and the teachers will be recruited at the earliest,” Banerjee told journalists after a cabinet meeting at the state secretariat Writers’ Buildings.

Hyderabad, June 08: The results of Eamcet will be released at 9 am tomorrow. The Eamcet organising committee has announced that the final ranks will be released in the first week of July after the Intermediate Board? announces the results of advanced supplementary examinations.

Higher education minister Damodara Rajanarasimha will release the results along with the final key. The officials have already declared one error each in both engineering and medicine streams. It may recalled that the initial key was released on May 25.

President’s Award for Muslim Niles student

AP students do state proud: AIEEE results

Hyderabad, June 06: Students from Andhra Pradesh did the state proud, coming out with flying colours in the prestigious 10th All India Engineering Entrance Examination (AIEEE) which were conducted by the Central Board of Secondary Education.

The results were announced on Sunday at 1 PM.

From the state, Varun Tej secured 5th rank in the examination while Prithvi Raj secured the 7th rank, followed by Bhargav Reddy who was placed 8th and Surender Reddy 12th.

New Delhi, June 05 : The result of 10th All India Engineering Examination conducted by the Central Board of Secondary Education will be declared at 1:00 P.M. on Sunday, an official said.

The candidates are advised to see their all India and State rank on CBSE website i.e., www.cbse.nic.in or www.aieee.nic.in.

Mumbai, June 03: Alarmed by the poor enrolment figures of girl students across the state, the government has proposed a unique plan. The initiative is part of the Sarva Shiksha Abhiyan (SSA) under the right to education public awareness programme, which has been taken up by the state government to boost enrollment numbers, with special emphasis on girl child.

Scholarship hiked for Post class-X ST students

New Delhi, June 02: The central government Thursday raised the scholarships for Scheduled Tribes students after Class 10 to encourage education after matriculation.

Home Minister P. Chidambaram announced the hike after a meeting of the union cabinet in the national capital.

“The Cabinet Committee on Economic Affairs (CCEA) has approved the revision of centrally sponsored Scheme of Post-Matric Scholarship to students belonging to Scheduled Tribes in India,” The home minister said.

Asif Ali Qamar from Hubli secures 2nd rank in CET

Grant 5 grace marks for failed SSC, Inter students!

Hyderabad, June 02: Stating that inability to complete the syllabus in Telangana region due to the separate statehood agitation was the reason behind many students’ adverse performance, a group of Congress leaders on Wednesday requested Chief Minister N Kiran Kumar Reddy to accord five grace marks to students who had failed in this year’s SSC and Intermediate public examinations.

Warning posters put on the gates of school

Hyderabad, May 28: “This school is running for one year without government recognition. If you admit your children in this school, you will be doing so at your own risk.” This warning message appears on posters pasted on gates of many unrecognised schools in the twin cities. With complaints pouring in against schools mushrooming in every nook and corner, collecting huge amount in name of admissions, the District Educational Officers (DEOs) of Hyderabad and Rangareddy have decided to crack the whip on unrecognised schools.

MANUU Admissions, Last Date 30th May

Hyderabad, May 28: Maulana Azad National Urdu University is offering admission into various regular courses through Urdu Medium.

Last date of submission of filled in application for all P.G., M.Phil (except Translation Studies), Polytechnic, Diploma & Certificate Courses is 30th May 2011.

Last date for M. Phil. Translation Studies is 5th June, whereas applications for Ph.D. in various subjects will be accepted till 4th July 2011.

CBSE Class 10th result on May 31

New Delhi, May 28: CBSE has announced the new dates for the declaration of Class 10th Result 2011. Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) will announce the Class Xth Result on 31st May, 2011.

The time of declaration is not yet confirmed. The result of CBSE Class 12th Examination has already been declared.

The results will be based on Continuous and Comprehensive Evaluation (CCE) this year. But the collection of CCE data from schools is giving the Board a tough time, hence the delay.

Beedi workers’ son bags state second rank

Tirunelveli, May 28: For A Satham Hussain of Muslim Higher Secondary School at Melapalayam in Tirunelveli, it was a pleasant surprise on Friday when he bagged the State second rank in SSLC examination with 495 marks.

He is the first among the four children of A S Abdul Rahman and A Sulekha Beevi, both workers in beedi industry here.

“I expected good score but never dreamt of any State rank,” he said, adding, “I want to become a mechanical engineer in the future.” He said that to achieve that goal, he would pursue science group at higher secondary level in the same school.

Easy paper, but low pass percentage in HSC

Ahmedabad, May 27: Every possible step to reduce stress was taken during the board exam this year. Yet, the HSC result (general stream) declared on Thursday is a dismal a 77.04 pass percentage, the worst since 2004. This year, Gujarat Secondary and higher Secondary Education Board ( GSHSEB) had reduced the pass marks to 33 from 35 for all subjects and the papers were largely easy.

Besides, the board had decided not to declare a merit list or mark any student as ‘fail’. Instead the report card said ‘needs improvement’ for students scoring less than 33 marks out of 100.

Internet creates 2.4 jobs for every job it destroys

New Delhi, May 27: The Internet, which has transformed the way we live, work, shop, socialise and now, is also emerging as a powerful catalyst for job creation, says a survey by global management consultancy McKinsey.

According to a report by McKinsey Global Institute, the Net has a sweeping impact on growth, prosperity and has “created 2.4 jobs for every job that it has destroyed”.

“The Internet is a contributer to net job creation,” McKinsey Global Institute said in its report, titled, ”Internet matters: The Net”s Sweeping Impact on Growth, Jobs and Prosperity”.
