Chennai, June 14: A 27-year-old MBA graduate hanged herself at her residence in Virugambakkam on Friday afternoon, allegedly due to dowry harassment. The
body of Geetha Arthi, a resident of Mahalingapuram, Nungambakkam, was sent to the government hospital in Royapettah for autopsy.
New Delhi, June 13: A 25-year-old final-year B.Sc. student allegedly killed his two daughters (one four years old and the other 18 months) and hacked their bodies into several parts with a sharp-edged object at Jever village in neighbouring Greater Noida on Thursday evening. Though he initially tried to dispose of the bodies, the accused apparently had a change of heart and walked up to the police station and confessed.
Mumbai, June 13: A 21-year-old woman working as a singer in a bar was allegedly raped by the driver of an autorickshaw in which she was returning home in the wee hours of Friday. The driver was arrested when he was taking her home after the incident, the police said.
The alleged victim (name withheld to protect her identity) is a native of Delhi. She has been living with her sister at Four Bungalows in Mhada Colony in Andheri (W) for three years.
The driver, Pramod Amarnath Shukla, is a resident of Vaishali Nagar in Dahisar (E).

Basing their investigation on the postmortem report, suburban police arrested six persons for the killing of P Sakthivel (29), whose body was found on the roadside near Kudrathur on December 24 last year. Sakthivel was murdered for eloping with the daughter of his employer. Police arrested the girl’s uncle Thyagarajan (30), his friend Poyyamozhi (40), and Senthi (22), Murugan (28), Velu (30) and Ramesh (22) who were hired for the deed.

Mexico City, June 13:A nine-month-old baby suffocated to death inside a car in the Mexican city of Saltillo, after his father forgot him there for seven hours, the Mexican daily La Vanguardia reported Friday.
The incident happened Thursday in Saltillo, about 850 km north of Mexico City.
The man realised what had happened when – at the end of his working day – he went to the day care centre to pick up his son and was told that he had never got there in the morning.
“I had him in my car, I forgot to bring him!” the man reportedly said.

They said the attacker has been bailed to appear in the Adelaide Youth Court.
Lucknow, June 12: A 15-year-old girl in Uttar Pradesh has accused her father of raping her for three years and making her pregnant twice, police said on Thursday.
“The class 10 student, a resident of Mahadev Nagar in Aligarh district, alleged that her father forced her into an illicit relationship, threatening her,” police inspector Udaiveer Malik said over telephone from Aligarh.
Nand Kishore, who is absconding, is a lecturer at a college in Sonbhadra district. A case has been registered against him.
