Five-year-old rape victim critical, accused at large

A five-year-old girl who was kidnapped, starved, tortured and brutally raped here for two days was in critical condition Friday even as police hunted for the 25-year-old accused.

As news of the brutality on the girl came out, angry protesters massed at the hospital where she was warded since Wednesday morning after her family rescued her from the house of her abductor in Gandhi Nagar in east Delhi.

The traumatized girl was Friday evening shifted to the All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS).

Delhi rape case: Five-year-old girl shifted to AIIMS

The five-year-old girl battling for life after being starved, tortured and brutally raped here for two days, was Friday shifted to the All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) for treatment, a police officer said.

“The girl has been shifted to AIIMS from Swami Dayanand Hospital, for better treatment,” Additional Commissioner of Police DK Gupta told IANS.

The girl was raped several times by her neighbour, who abducted her April 15 and held her hostage in his flat in east Delhi’s Gandhi Nagar for over two days, torturing her and denying her water and food, according to police.

A medical student in Shangahi has been charged for allegedly killing his 28-year-old roommate by poisoning him over a trivial matter.

Teenager gang-raped in Andhra Pradesh

A 18-year-old girl was allegedly gang-raped by two persons near Ramagundam railway station, nearly 70 kms from here, police said on Friday.

The incident took place last night when the victim got down at the station and was offered a drop to her destination – Peddapally – by both the accused, they said.

According to Godavarikhani Deputy Superintendent of Police, G Udaykumar Reddy, accused Sameer (21) befriended the girl at the station and later called his friend Sura Raju (23) from Ramagundam following which they sexually assaulted her.

Prohibitory orders in Bhainsa, AP

Prohibitory orders under section 144 of CrPc were today imposed in the communally-sensitive Bhainsa town of Adilabad district, after Hindu Vahini members tried to take out a procession from areas dominated by minority community during Ram-navami celebrations.

Police said Hindu Vahini had not sought any prior permission.

“No permission was given for procession as they wanted to take it out from sensitive areas,” a senior police officer told.
