Telangana to celebrate P V Narasimha Rao’s birth anniversary

The Telangana Government would be celebrating the birth anniversary of late Prime Minister P V Narasimha Rao here tomorrow.

The government had celebrated late Congress stalwart’s birth anniversary last year too, soon after formation of the new state.

Rao was born in Karimnagar district, which is now in Telangana, on June 28, 1921.

The official function would be held at ‘P V Gyan Bhoomi’ on the banks of Hussain Sagar Lake, a government release said.

Exports losing steam, may lead to job losses: FIEO

The continuous decline in exports may result in job losses and impact economic growth, exporters body FIEO on Saturday said.

“Based on the order booking position, exports may significantly decline in volume terms in months to come, which will result in layoffs,” Federation of Indian Exports Organisations (FIEO) President S C Ralhan said in a statement.

TS Govt to continue 1750 SPOs for two more years

The Telangana Government on Saturday accorded permission for continuation of 1750 Special Police Officers for a further period of two more years.

As many as 1750 ex-servicemen were hired by the Police Department as SPOs for a period of one year from July 1, 2014 to June 30, 2015, duly enhancing the honorarium from Rs. 7,500/- to Rs. 10,000/- per month on contract basis. Since their contract period was about to expire this month-end, the State Government, through GO Ms. No. 44, decided to continue their services from 01-07-2015 to 30-06-2017, i.e., 24 months, on contract basis. Iran condemns attacks in Tunisia, Kuwait and France

Iran has condemned the jihadist attacks in Tunisia, Kuwait and France, saying they were “contrary to the teachings of Islam,” in statements released by the foreign ministry.

The killings were not apparently coordinated, but the Islamic State group claimed the atrocities in Tunisia and Kuwait, just days before the first anniversary of it declaring a “caliphate” in Iraq and Syria.

“These terrorist acts are contrary to the teachings of Islam,” said foreign ministry spokeswoman Marzieh Afkham in Tehran.
