Kendall Jenner has warned her mother Kris Jenner to stay away from her and not to follow her everywhere.

In the recent episode of ‘Keeping Up with the Kardashians,’ the 19-year-old catwalk model tells her reality Queen mom that she didn’t want her to tag along even on the trips, as that was the only “me-time” she had, E! Online has reported.

If you are a sole breadwinner in the family, keep a close tab on your hubby as he may have an extra-marital affair to punish you mentally, a new study says.

“Infidelity allows men undergoing a masculinity threat – that is not being primary breadwinners – to distance themselves from, and perhaps punish, their high-earning spouses,” said Christin L. Munsch, assistant professor of sociology at University of Connecticut.

According to her, although both men and women are more likely to cheat on their spouses the more economically dependent they are on them, there is a big difference though.

Beijing bans smoking in public places

Chinese capital Beijing has reportedly banned smoking in public places following the introduction of a new law.

The regulation bans smoking in restaurants, offices and on public transport, and those who violate the rule, will have to pay a fine of 40 dollars. Also, those who are caught breaking the law thrice, will be named and shamed on a government website.

Methane may power future manned mission spacecraft to Mars

Scientists are planning to develop new next-generation rocket engines that will help getting mass to Mars and Moon.

The University of Texas at El Paso (UTEP) has been awarded a 5 million dollars grant from NASA to develop rocket engines using liquid methane. The methane-based rocket technology would be used for in-space propulsion and ascent and descent engines for Mars and lunar landers.

Professor and Chair of Mechanical Engineering Ahsan Choudhuri said that liquid methane, a new form of green propellant, was a promising fuel for spacecraft.

Cong govt talked only about sentiment of minorities: Heptulla

Accusing the previous Congress-led government of talking only about the sentiments of minorities, Minority Affairs Minister Najma Heptulla today said the sentiments of majority community should also be taken into account.

“I have one principle in life, I should not hurt anybody’s sentiments. You are talking about the sentiments of minority community. Shouldn’t we also think of the sentiments of the majority community,” Heptulla said when asked about the ban on beef in some states during a press conference organised on the occasion of inauguration of Central Waqf Bhawan here.

Karnataka to move SC against Jayalalithaa’s acquittal

The Karnataka government on Monday decided to appeal in the Supreme Court against the acquittal of Tamil Nadu Chief Minister J. Jayalalithaa in the disproportionate assets case.

“The state cabinet has accepted the recommendation of the special public prosecutor (B.V. Acharya) and state advocate general (Ravivarma Kumar) to appeal against the May 11 Karnataka High Court verdict, which acquitted Jayalalithaa in the case,” state Law Minister T.B. Jayachandra told reporters here.

CIA director claims battle against IS will be ‘a long fight’

CIA Director John Brennan has claimed that the battle against the Islamic State (IS) will require both political

and military solution, and added that it will be “a long fight”.

According to CBS News, Brennan said he believes it will not be resolved anytime soon.

He warned that there will be “a lot of bloodshed between now and then”, but assured that they will turn back the IS.

Brennan claimed that US intelligence had been taken aback by the IS’ strength and that they saw it growing.

17 killed in Pakistan poll violence

Poll-related violence continued in parts of Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa province of Pakistan on Monday pushing the toll to 11 people killed in various districts.

Eight people were killed late on Sunday and over a dozen sustained injuries from gunfire during the announcement of local government elections results. According to sources, winning candidates were busy celebrating when unidentified gunmen opened fire, Dawn reported.

Cannabis use curbs intestinal infections in hunter gatherers

Exploring cannabis use among the Aka foragers, a “pygmy” people of the Congo basin, US researchers have found that the more the hunter-gatherers smoke cannabis, the less they are infected by intestinal worms.

“While the Aka deliberately consume a tea of a local plant, motunga, to fight parasitic infections, they do not think of cannabis or tobacco as medicine,” said Ed Hagen, anthropologist from Washington State University.

The findings suggest that they may unconsciously be, in effect, smoking medical marijuana.

Telangana MLC polls: Digvijay condemns TDP for trying to bribe MLA

Congress leader Digvijay Singh on Monday condemned the move of Telugu Desam Party (TDP) MLA A. Revanth Reddy for attempting to bribe a nominated member of the state assembly.

“Strongly condemn TDP and its MLA trying to bribe a MLA in MLC elections in Telangana,” Singh tweeted.

“I urge Congress MLAs who got elected as Congress and defected to TRS to vote for Congress candidate Akula Lalita along with Congress MLAs,” he added.

Earlier in the day, Reddy was sent to 14 days judicial custody by a local court. However, he has been allowed to cast vote for the MLC elections.

Delhi man accused for firing on police gets bail

A court here on Monday granted bail to one of the accused allegedly involved in firing on Delhi Police officials here.

Additional Sessions Judge Reetesh Singh granted bail to Mohammad Rashid Khan and asked him to furnish a personal bond of Rs.50,000 and a surety of like amount.

Rashid Khan was arrested by Special Cell of Delhi Police from west Delhi’s Mundka area with an alleged gangster Neeraj Bawana on April 7 after a brief chase when both of them tried to escape by opening fire at the police team.

Goa to decide on beef ban within three weeks: Minister

The Goa government will decide on whether to ban beef or not in “two to three weeks”, Animal Husbandry Minister Ramesh Tawadkar said here on Monday.

“We (government) will think about and decide in two to three weeks,” Tawadkar said, while speaking to reporters on the sidelines of a media event.

The minister’s comments came a few days after Bharatiya Janata Party national president Amit Shah said at a public meeting here that it was up to respective state governments to decide on banning beef after a consultative process.

Sensex range bound; capital goods stocks gain

Anxiety over the apex bank’s move to cut key lending rates on the eve of its monetary policy review, kept a barometer of the Indian equities market trading in a tight range on Monday.

The benchmark index of the Indian equities markets, the 30-scrip Sensitive Index (Sensex), was trading 55.66 points or 0.20 percent up during the late-afternoon trade session.

The wider 50-scrip Nifty of the National Stock Exchange (NSE) was also trading with marginal gains. It was up 5.25 points or 0.06 percent at 8,438.90 points.

United States Defense Secretary Ashton Carter has asserted that the country will continue to play a “pivotal” role in Asia in the future, a day after Beijing warned Washington against meddling in the “disputed” South China Sea.

The BBC quoted Carter, as saying that the U.S. was not looking to militarise the situation, but “nothing” would stop it from flying, sailing in the Pacific, as it always has. He added that the U.S. could ensure peace and prosperity in the region and that is the only way “everyone gets to rise and win.”

The city-based University of Hyderabad has been ranked 22 in the top 25 ‘Socioversities’ in the country, in a survey conducted by Career360, an online portal for higher education rating and career counseling in India. Career 360, which is an initiative of the Outlook group, describes Socioversity as a “pioneering attempt to identify and rank universities that have been most effective in harnessing the power of new media”. More than 750 Central, State, Deemed and Private Universities and Institutions were surveyed for this study.

Tendulkar, Ganguly and Laxman to join BCCI advisory committee

Indian cricket legends Sachin Tendulkar, Sourav Ganguly and VVS Laxman have agreed to join the newly constituted advisory committee of Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI).

Anurag Thakur , BCCI secretary, tweeted that former Indian players Ganguly, Tendulkar and Laxman would form the all-important committee that would advise the Indian Cricket Board.

According to reports, the trio would give suggestions on the domestic scenario in India and would also advice on the decision on the appointment of the new coach for the Indian cricket team.
