Nepal to send back 4,050 foreign rescue personnel

Nepal’s disaster panel on Sunday recommended that 4,050 foreign rescue and search personnel be sent back as its own security personnel can handle the task of recovering the remaining bodies of people killed in the April 25 earthquake, an official said.

The decision was taken at a meeting of the Central Natural Disaster Committee headed by Deputy Prime Minister Bamdev Gautam, who also holds the home portfolio.

Indian-origin clerk in US shot dead

An Indian-origin store clerk who was shot in the face in the US state of South Carolina has died, a media report said.

Mradulaben Patel was shot at a store in Anderson County Thursday night. She died on Saturday, WSPA news reported.

The woman was found lying on the floor by a customer.

County deputies said the suspect — a black male, wearing a white shirt, dark pants, tennis shoes and a fishing hat — was recorded on surveillance video entering the store, purchasing cigars and then pulling out a gun and shooting the clerk on the face.

21-year-old student commits suicide

A chemical engineering student at IIT, Powai, here allegedly committed suicide, police said on Sunday.

Jitesh Sharma (21), who hails from Haryana, was found dead on the terrace of the institute’s hostel last evening by his friends. The suburban Powai police was subsequently informed.

Police reached the spot and sent the body for postmortem this morning.

A suicide note purportedly written by the student was found near the student’s body which indicates that he was depressed, they said.

Jagan to meet Governor on Monday

YSR Congress Party president YS Jagan Mohan Reddy will call no Governor ESL Narasimhan at Raj Bhavan on Monday seeking his intervention to stop rising attacks on his party leaders.

Accompanied with party MLAs, Jagan would make a representation to the Governor furnishing the list of incidents of attack on YSRCP leaders and workers in different parts of Andhra Pradesh after TDP came to power. They will specifically highlight the killing of YSRCP leader Bhumi Reddy Prasad Reddy in Rapthadu of Anathapur district.

RPF head constable killed in misfiring

A head constable of Reserve Police Force was killed while another was injured when the head constable misfired the gun at himself. The incident happened in Gangaparthi Railway Quarters in Visakhkapatnam on Sunday.

The head constable, Dharmana Musalayya, died on the spot while his colleague Mallikarjun sustained serious injuries. He has admitted to Seven Hills Hospital where he is stated to be serious. Musallay reported took the gun from his colleague KC Pradhan and misfired it accidentally. The local police have registered a case and began investigation. (INN)

Girl harassed, blackmailed in Faridabad

A 22-year-old girl, resident of sector-16 of Faridabad, has accused a man of threatening, extortion and blackmailing her, police said.

In the complaint filed by the girl with police station Central Faridabad, she accused one Deepak Sharma of blackmailing, physical attack, breaking of furniture in her house and threatening her, her mother and the guard posted outside her house.

The girl said in her complaint that Deepak knew her from some time back, police said.

They used to talk on phone quiet frequently, they said.

AP Govt. Decides to make state renewable Energy hub

The Government of Andhra Pradesh decided to implement the comprehensive action plan for making Andhra Pradesh as a renewable energy hub in the country in the next four years. As part of this plan/gigantic objective the Government has contemplated to achieve 5,000 MW solar power and 4,000 MW wind power by 2019 to meet the twin objectives of energy security and clean energy considerations.

Owaisi’s, Azam Khan & Shahi Imam is traitors, should be kicked out

Inflation to range at 3.7 percent in 2015-16: Report

Inflation is likely to average 3.7 percent in the current fiscal, which is higher than the 2 percent recorded in the last fiscal, a Dun & Bradstreet research report said.

“D&B expects WPI (Wholesale Price Index) inflation to edge up to 3.7 percent in financial year 2016 up from 2.0 percent in fiscal year 2015,” Dun & Bradstreet said in a note made available to media on Sunday.

Though declining crude oil prices and lower demand side pressures will help ease inflation, D&B listed factors which may push up WPI inflation.

Shot by colleague, Mumbai police station chief dies

A police station head who was shot at and critically injured by his junior colleague on Saturday night, died of his bullet injuries here in the early hours of Sunday, officials said.

Vilas Joshi (53), the senior inspector of Vakola police station in Santacruz East suburb of Mumbai, was fired upon by Assistant Sub-Inspector Dilip Shirke (55) with his service revolver, following a brawl over absenteeism.

105-year-old rescued 8 days after Nepal quake

A 105-year-old man was among four people rescued alive on Sunday from under the rubble of buildings that collapsed on April 25 in the massive earthquake that rocked Nepal killing more than 7,000 people.

Three people from a family were rescued in Sindhupalchok district, while 105-year-old Fanchu Ghale was brought out alive from beneath the rubble of his own house in Kimtang-8 in Nuwakot district.

Ghale was rescued by a joint team of Nepal Police and Japanese rescue personnel.

Apart from minor injuries in his limbs, his health was fine, rescuers said.

India-origin billionaires to build 1,200 houses in Nepal

Two Indian-origin billionaires in the UK have offered to build 1,200 quake-resistant houses in the affected villages of the country.

Mukesh Kumar Sehgal, managing director of UK-based SISMO Company offered 1,000 quake-resistant houses, while, Shree Prakash Lohia, founder and chairman of Indorama Corporation offered to build 200 houses through his Lohia Foundation.

Sehgal met Nepal’s Acting Ambassador to Britain, Tej Bahadur Chettri, on Friday and offered to build 1,000 quake-resistant houses in Nepal, Ekantipur reported.

Local bodies should supply water to Schools: KCR

Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao today stated that local bodies of Gram Panchayats and Municipalities should supply safe drinking water to all schools and colleges in their jurisdictions. He asked the leaders to try to instill confidence among the people on their grievances and address the same avoiding delay.

PM Modi has dangerous intentions: Azam Khan

Uttar Pradesh Minister Azam Khan on Sunday targeted Prime Minister Narendra Modi, alleging that “he carries in his kitty very dangerous intentions” and said there is need to be vigilant.

Without elaborating on his allegation against Modi, Khan said, “it is extremely essential to remain vigilant by devoting maximum energy to keep cordial relations between communities well maintained.”

IT Dept. says 19 Percent increased its revenue this year

Income Tax department has realized Rs. 6,96,200 crore revenue as direct taxes for the year 2014-15 which is 14 per cent less against the target.
The Income Tax Department officials have said the collected revenue has share of income tax and corporate tax.

The department had realized revenue of Rs 5,83,000 crore last year.
This year income revenue has an increase of 19 per cent compared to last year, the official said. (NSS)

Bollywood actress Kangana Ranaut today made a bold fashion statement at the 62nd National Awards, by opting for a light mauve body-hugging gown. The 28-year-old actress, who bagged her career’s second National Award for her poignant portrayal of a young girl left at the altar by her fiance in Queen, did not follow the usual trend of donning a traditional outfit to the ceremony.

In program organized by the CPI at its office here, the party revealed that the lights will be useful to the people of Nepal, who were facing severe power problem after earthquake. The party purchased LED lights from Thrive Solar Energy company lights in the city and sent them to Nepal.

High School Boys Rape Six-year-old in Bengaluru

A 6-year-old girl was allegedly raped by two high school boys at Bannerghatta near here, police said today.

The incident took place yesterday when she was playing with her brother and the boys, they said.

The boys took the girl to an isolated place nearby and raped her. Her brother who arrived at the scene searching for her soon rushed home and informed his grandparents about the incident, police said.

The girl was immediately taken to a doctor for medical examination by the police who visited her soon after getting to know about the incident.
