A confident Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar on Friday said that the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) would never succeed in its mission of gaining power in the state despite chalking out several strategies in its meetings.
“They would not gain anything here despite several meetings,” he said while commenting on the ongoing BJP’s national executive meeting in Bengaluru where the saffron party discussed its strategies for the Bihar assembly polls due later this year.

Google ‘declares war’ on China’s biggest web registrar

Google has declared war on China’s biggest web registrar, China Internet Network Information Center (CNNIC), due to its “bad behavior.”

In its security blog post, Google made it clear that it would no longer accept HTTPS certificates from the CNNIC, effectively cutting the registrar out of the SSL system that secures the web. HTTPS certificates ensure that web content cannot be intercepted in transit and CNNIC controls that process for the whole Chinese web, The Verge reported.

TenXer ‘shuts doors’ as Twitter acquires it for under 50 mln dollars

Twitter has reportedly purchased TenXer, a platform for developers and engineers to work together better, in a deal that sources said was priced under 50 million dollars and would lead to the closure of the San Francisco-based startup.

TenXer CEO and co-founder Jeff Ma said that they will shut down operations at their firm and continue their work with the micro-blogging platform, reported The Verge.

He added that the firm was excited to apply what they had learnt in the past three years to a world-class engineering organization.

LinkedIn ‘buys and shuts down’ Refresh.io to add predictive insights to its products

LinkedIn has bought and will be shutting down Refresh.io, a startup and iOS app of the same name that provides insights about people in your networks right before you meet them.

The terms of the deal have not been revealed but the main app will be shutting down on April 15 after which the company will not accept any new sign-ups. Twelve of the current team of 15 employees will join LinkedIn in Mountain View to work on incorporating the technology they have developed into various LinkedIn products, reported TechCrunch.

Youth Congress files FIR in Kanpur court against Giriraj Singh for ‘racist’ comment

The Kanpur unit of the Youth Congress has filed a First Information Report (FIR) in a court against union minister Giriraj Singh for his controversial “white skin” remarks against party president Sonia Gandhi.

A local court in Bihar had also ordered the filing of an FIR against Singh on Thursday.

The Congress has repeatedly been condemning Giriraj Singh, with the Youth Congress and Mahila Congress workers taking to the streets of Bengaluru with demands of his resignation. The party’s Delhi unit also led a protest outside Singh’s residence in the national capital.

‘Air evacuation of Indians from Sana’a in Yeman likely’

The government said on Friday there is likelihood it would launch evacuation of Indians by air from the Yemeni city of Sana’a even as an Indian naval ship left the Yemeni port of Al Hodeidah with 306 Indians on board for Djibouti to be flown back to India.

External affairs ministry spokesperson Syed Akbaruddin tweeted that the government is “working on all fronts” to pull out its citizens from strife-torn Yemen.

“Working on all fronts. We are making all out efforts to significantly enhance evacuation of Indian nationals from Yemen,” he tweeted.

22 child labourers rescued in Hyderabad

As many as 22 child labourers, most of them hailing from Gaya district of Bihar and pushed to work in hazardous industries here have been rescued, police said today.

“22 children in the age group of 5-13 years, who were forced to work in leather and bangle units at Sultanshai area were rescued last night,” Deputy Commissioner of Police V Satyanarayana said.
