Reality TV star Kourtney Kardashian, who delivered her third child in December 2014, has shared an image of her newborn son Reign Aston Disick with the world.

She gave the first look at her baby on image-sharing website Instagram, roughly three months after giving birth to her bundle of joy, reports aceshowbiz.com.

“My little turtle dove angel baby boy Reign Aston Disick,” Kourtney captioned the photograph that showed baby Reign in a white onesie lying on a white fur rug.

Akshay Kumar starts shooting for ‘Singh Is Bliing’

Bollywood superstar Akshay Kumar has started shooting for Prabhudheva’s upcoming directorial venture “Singh Is Bliing” in Patiala.

The sequel to the 2008 blockbuster “Singh Is Kinng”, will once again have Akshay donning a turban. He will have actresses Lara Dutta and Amy Jackson sharing screen space with him.

“In Patiala, started the day with Waheguru’s blessings at the Gurudwara and now it’s time for day 1 of #SinghIsBliing!,” Akshay, 47, posted on Twitter.

US firm develops glasses for colour blindness

A US firm has given thousands of people their first look into the colours red and green by tricking the brain with a pair of sunglasses.

EnChroma, based in Berkeley, north of San Francisco, developed the colour blindness corrective gear two years ago and recently launched an upgraded model of sunglasses allowing users to play sports and is child-friendly, Xinhua reported.

Over 340 million people around the world suffer from colour blindness, as the condition can hinder simple everyday activities, like driving.

Syrian crisis: UN official warns Syria at `dangerous tipping point`

A United Nations official has warned that Syria has now reached a ” dangerous tipping point” after being embroiled in a four and a half-year-long civil war.

While addressing donors at an aid pledging conference in Kuwait, Antonio Guterres, UN High Commissioner for Refugees, said that it was clear that the world’s response to the Syrian crisis couldn’t be business as usual and the stability of its neighboring countries, such as, Jordan and Lebanon, was at risk, Fox News reported.

The UN’s role would become more problematic soon as the gap widens between humanitarian needs and relief.

Hubble finds giant objects near dead quasars

NASA’s Hubble space telescope has clicked a set of wispy, goblin-green objects that are the ephemeral ghosts of quasars that flickered to life and then faded.

The glowing structures have looping, helical and braided shapes.

“They do not fit in a single pattern. The features offer insights into the puzzling behaviour of galaxies with energetic cores,” said Bill Keel from the University of Alabama, Tuscaloosa.

These images reveal a set of bizarre, greenish looping, spiral and braided shapes around eight active galaxies.

World’s smallest light-powered gyroscope soon

A team of applied physicists has devised a method to develop world’s smallest light-powered gyroscope – a fraction of the width of a human hair – that will enable a new generation of phenomenally compact gyroscope-based navigation systems, among other intriguing applications.

“We have found a new detection scheme that may lead to the world’s smallest gyroscope sooner,” said Li Ge, physicist at the City University of New York.

Gold, silver prices firm up on uptick in buying by jewellers

Gold prices rose by Rs 175 to trade at one-week high at Rs 26,950 per 10 grams on increased buying by jewellers and retailers even as the precious metal weakened overseas.

Silver too played along, gaining Rs 250, to hit Rs 37,600 per kg on increased offtake by industrial units and coin makers.

In the national capital, gold of 99.9 per cent and 99.5 per cent purity climbed Rs 175 each to Rs 26,950 and Rs 26,800 per 10 grams, respectively, a level last seen on March 26.

The sovereign, however, continued to be traded at Rs 23,700 per piece of eight grams.

An egg a day may keep diabetes away

If you love eggs, there is good news for you. Egg consumption could reduce the risk of Type-2 diabetes, says a new research.

The study, published in American Journal of Clinical Nutrition, found that men who ate approximately four eggs per week had a 37 percent lower risk of Type-2 diabetes than men who only ate one egg a week.

Type-2 diabetes is becoming increasingly widespread throughout the world.

Researchers at the University of Eastern Finland assessed dietary habits of 2,332 men aged between 42 and 60 years during 1984-1989.

Kangana to begin Meena Kumari’s biopic in mid-2016

Actress Kangana Ranaut has confirmed she has been roped in for the biopic on late Bollywood actress Meena Kumari, but says she won’t be able to start with the film before mid-2016.

Kenya uses helicopters to airlift terror attack victims

The Kenyan government has provided four helicopters to airlift scores of victims who were critically injured in Thursday’s terrorist attack on the Garissa University College (GUC) that claimed 147 lives.

Ten National Youth Service buses were also deployed to provide transport for over 300 students camping at the local military camp since Thursday afternoon after they were rescued from the college premises, Xinhua news agency reported on Friday.

FPIs remain bullish on India; equities investments up 40 percent

Road accident in Madhya Pradesh claims 4 lives, injures 27

Four tribal labourers were killed and 27 others injured when a truck carrying them overturned at M S Road in (Morena)Madhya Pradesh, police said on Friday.

The mishap took place late on Thursday night when the victims, all agricultural labourers, were returning to their native village Veesa and Danganpur in Sheopur district from their work place Ambah area in Morena, Additional SP Raghuvansh Singh said.

The truck driver, who was allegedly under the influence of liquor, fled from the accident site and is absconding, Singh said.

No reason for Opposition to oppose land act: Ram Vilas Paswan

Hyderabadi man arrested for harassing woman through social media

Police today arrested a man here for sending abusive messages to a 26-year-old woman and “maligning her character” through Facebook and WhatsApp.

The victim had lodged a complaint with police in February accusing Mohammed Abdul Kashif of harassing her by posting abusive or vulgar messages on Facebook and WhatsApp.

Kashif was arrested today. His questioning revealed that after befriending the woman, he tried to take advantage of her but was snubbed. The woman then started avoiding her, police said.

Investigators hope Germanwings’ second black box will provide ‘usable’ data to probe crash

French authorities have reportedly said that the condition of the second black box of the ill-fated Germanwings plane, retrieved on the ninth day of the search operation, has given “hope” that the data on it could be used.

Prosecutor Brice Robin asserted that the box, found buried on the left side of a ravine, was “completely blackened” and appeared to be burnt, but was “possibly usable,” News24 reported.

Woman hacked to death in Raipur for performing mother’s last rites

In a shocking incident, a woman sarpanch in Raipur’s Mohda village was hacked to death by her brother and nephew who were enraged with her for performing the last rites of her mother.

The victim, Geeta, was performing a ritual related to the funeral on Thursday, when her brother Chetram and nephew Piyush fatally attacked her with an axe.

The culprits have been arrested by the local police.

Doctor, agents nabbed for carrying out sex determination tests

A team of cops and heath officials today arrested a city-based gynaecologist along with his three agents, including a woman, for allegedly conducting gender determination tests, police said today.

“Yesterday, we arrested gynaecologist Paresh Sheth and his three aides from his clinic at Sheth Hospital at Shah-Aalam toll naka area here for conducting gender determination tests,” police inspector K R Dabhi said.
