NASA Astronauts Finish Spacewalk Trilogy for Space Taxis

NASA astronauts successfully ended their third and last spacewalk on March 1 to reassemble parts of the International Space Station (ISS) and create parking slots for Boeing and Space Exploration Technologies (SpaceX) which will provide commercial space taxis in the near future.

The Expedition 42 astronauts Terry Virts and Barry Wilmore ended their spacewalk with the repressurisation of the Quest airlock.

They completed installing 400 feet of cable and several antennae associated with the Common Communications for Visiting Vehicles system known as C2V2.

Pakistani singer Adnan Sami applies for Indian citizenship

Pakistani singer Adnan Sami has applied for Indian citizenship for a second time despite an earlier plea of his having been rejected by the Centre.

The 43-year-old singer — whose earlier request was rejected some two years back — has made his application to the Foreigners’ Division of the Home Ministry. “His application is under consideration,” official sources said.

Fire in gas pipeline in Telangana

A fire on Monday broke out in a natural gas pipeline that ferries gas from Reliance Industries’ eastern offshore KG-D6 field in Telangana.

No loss of life or injury has been reported.

The fire was notice early morning in a section of the pipeline near Zaheerabad in remote Telangana due to gas leak in the Main Line Valve, RGTIL, the company that operates the pipeline, said.

“There is no loss of life or injuries,” it said.

Govt to introduce six important bills in Lok Sabha today

The Government on Monday will introduce six bills to replace a set of six ordinances on different issues, in the Lok Sabha.

The Coal Bill, the Motor Vehicles Amendment Bill and the Andhra Pradesh re-organisation Amendment Bill will be placed later in the day, while the Insurance Bill will be placed on March 3.

The Citizenship Amendment Bill, 2015 and the Mines and Minerals Development and Regulation Amendment Bill, are also scheduled for introduction in the Lok Sabha on Tuesday.

The Bill to replace the land acquisition ordinance was introduced here last week.

Two injured in bomb explosion in Meghalaya

Two people were injured on Monday morning after militants hurled a crude bomb at a petrol pump in Meghalaya`s West Khasi Hills district, police said.

The incident occurred at around 6.15 a.m. when unidentified Garo militants lobbed the crude bomb at the Indian Oil petrol pump injuring two workers – Amresh Kumar and Mejentis Sangma.

“Two petrol pump workers were injured in the bomb attack. They have been rushed to hospital and their health condition is stated to be stable,” Sylvester Nongtynger, the district police chief of West Khasi Hills, told IANS.

14-year-old Alabama girl dies in shooting over Facebook argument

A 14-year-old Alabama girl was killed after two men fired into a group of girls who decided to settle down the brawl in the park, in the state capital Birmingham, over an argument they had on Facebook.

News reports stated the girls planned to videotape their fight and post the recording online, but after the fight began, two teenage males arrived and started shooting at them, Stuff.co.nz reported.

The shots killed 14-year-old Kierra’onna Rice and wounded two others.

Ingredients

250 gm hare channe

1/4 cup ghee

1/8 tsp asafoetida

1 tsp cumin seeds

1 Tbsp ginger- shredded

1/2 tsp garam masala

1/2 cup tomatoes- grated

2 tsp coriander powder

Salt to taste

1/2 tsp turmeric

1/2 tsp chilli powder

1/2 cup yoghurt

1 Tbsp chopped coriander leaves

Method

Heat ghee in a pan.

Add cumin seeds and asafoetida.

When the cumin seeds begin to splutter, add ginger and saute.

Add tomatoes and stir-fry, let the fat separate.

500 gm paneer, cut into cubes

2 Tbsp sarson ka tel (mustard oil)

1 1/2 tsp saunf (fennel seeds)

1 1/2 tsp kalonji (onion/nigella seeds)

1 1/2 tsp rai or sarson (mustard seeds)

1 1/2 tsp moti kutti lal mirch (paprika), or to taste

3-4 sabut lal mirch (whole red pepper)

1 1/2 cup (250) thickly sliced cabbage

1/2 cup tomato puree

Jammu-Srinagar highway shut after heavy snowfall, landslide

The Jammu-Srinagar highway has been shut due to heavy snowfall and landslides in the Lasri, Chandrakot, Seri, Ramsu and Panthial areas of Jammu and Kashmir.

“The highway is closed because of heavy snow and rain, as well as landslides. It is still closed,” said Inspector General (Traffic) Munir Khan.
