Michael Keaton has recently confirmed that he hopes to make Tim Burton ‘s 1988 horror-comedy ‘ Beetlejuice’ sequel.

However, the reunite is not yet confirmed but the 63-year-old actor, starred as a manic, demented spirit alongside costars Winona Ryder, Geena Davis and Alec Baldwin in the original movie, was excited about the prospects of working with Burton again, People Magazine reported.

Road mishap in AP, 11 killed

Roads in AP turned red on Sunday with accidents at different places, at least five persons were killed in a lorry-auto-rickshaw collision at Pedapalaparru village under Mudinepalli mandal. Four more injured were admitted to the Government Hospital in Gudivada.

‘People-friendly but tough police needed to tackle criminals, terrorists’: Rajnath Singh

Union Home Minister Rajnath Singh on Monday said a people-friendly but tough police is needed to take strong action against criminals and terrorists.

Rajnath Singh, who reviewed the law and order situation at a high-level meeting held here, suggested the Karnataka Police to fill up all its vacancies which was nearly 20 percent of its total strength on a priority basis.

He also asked them to adopt the latest technology and modernize the forces.

‘Emotional’ Tandon withdraws resignation, vows to work for BJP

Bharatiya Janata Party’s chief ministerial candidate Kiran Bedi’s campaign manager Narendra Tandon on Monday withdrew his resignation and cited his “emotional” state of mind as the reason behind his earlier decision.

“I was a member of the party and will remain so. I will continue to work for it in the same manner. I had become a bit emotional,” said Tandon.

Earlier in the day, the BJP had said that Tandon has a history of resigning from the party on petty issues, adding that there is no conflict within the party.

Talking about the movie, Geeta told IANS: “As the title says it all, the story is based on a second hand husband. It’s a very funny film and I am playing a Punjabi girl and actor Gippy Grewal’s wife in the film.

“She is a carefree girl and if I may say so, my role is somewhat similar to Sridevi’s role in ‘Judaai’.”

NRI deposits in Kerala bank up by Rs.3,795 crore

The NRI deposits with Kerala’s State Bank of Travancore (SBT) have registered an increase of Rs.3,795 crore, a top official of the bank said Monday.

SBT’s managing director Jeevandas Narayan told reporters here that over a fourth of its deposits are accounted in the NRI (non-resident Indian) category.

“NRI deposits grew by Rs.3,795 crore to touch Rs.29,758 crore at the end of the third quarter of the current fiscal, while the bank’s total deposit grew from Rs.89,337 crore as at the end of last fiscal to touch Rs.91,440 crore on Dec 31 last year,” the managing director said.

Train derails in Chittagong after fish plates removed

The engine and two bogies of the Mymensingh Express derailed this morning after fish plates were removed by miscreants in the Mirsarai Upazila of Chittagong.

According to the Daily Star, no one was reported to be hurt in the incident.

The train was derailed around 3.40 a.m., the daily quoted Arabinda Sarker, a member of the Chittagong Railway Police, as saying.

Train services on the route, however, resumed after 8 a.m.
