Beyonce launches vegan meal service

Pop star Beyonce has launched a vegan food delivery service. The mother-of-one launched 22 Days Nutrition, a “plant-based home delivery meal service with exercise physiologist” Marco Borges, reported the New York Post.

“I am so grateful that I took the challenge and credit Marco with leading by example. He is the most energetic person I know and it’s all because of his decision to live a healthy lifestyle. He came up with a great program to get people motivated to make better nutritional choices. All you have to do is try. If I can do it, anyone can,” Beyonce said in a statement.

Kanye West, Rihanna to tour together?

Musicians Kanye West and Rihanna are reportedly planning a joint tour.

A photo surfaced online earlier this week suggested that the two superstars would be hitting the road together later this year, reported Ace Showbiz.

West, 37, and Rihanna, 26, have worked together numerous times, most recently for her newest single ‘FourFiveSeconds’ which also features Paul McCartney.

Over the weekend, the duo reunited as they headlined DirectTv’s pre-Super Bowl concert.

Shakira, Gerard Pique bring their newborn baby home

Pop star Shakira was discharged from hospital just four days after giving birth to her second son with Gerard Pique, Sasha Pique Mebarak.

The 38-year-old singer was all smiles when she was picked up by Pique on February 2. That day, the pair also celebrated their joint birthday, reported Ace Showbiz.

In some photos, the couple were seen leaving the hospital in a white car driven by Gerard. Shakira wore a checkered blue-and-black coat and a black scarf.

Cold, foggy morning greets Delhiites

It was a cold and foggy morning here Wednesday, delaying over 15 trains, officials said.

The visibility in the morning was less than 50 metres. Northern Railway officials said 15 trains were running late and one was rescheduled.

“There was dense fog in the morning. The day’s maximum temperature is likely to hover around 21 degrees Celsius,” said an official of the India Meteorological Department.

The minimum temperature settled at 11.3 degrees Celsius, three notches below the season’s average.

Humidity was 97 percent at 8.30 am.

Tabela Safar Khan is located at Moazzam Jahi Market X-road. It is a Waqf property having an area of 800 as per the records in the gazette. The property till recently housed a famous hotel and perfumes shops until some part of it was acquired by HMR under Metro Rail master plan.

Mutavallis of the property plan to build commercial complex on the land, however Waqf Board sprung into action and set up board declaring it to be Waqf land. Jalaluddin Akber issued show-cause notice to the concerned Mutavalli.

Janata Dal leadership green signal to Nitish, set to return as Bihar CM

Speculation is growing over the return of Nitish Kumar as the chief minister of Bihar.

Reports claimed on Wednesday that a majority of JD(U) MLAs are in favour of Nitish replacing Jitan Ram Manjhi as the Bihar chief minister.

They want the change ahead of state elections due later this year so that Nitish could campaign for the party as CM instead of Manjhi, who has courted controversy on many occasions.

Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) chief Lalu Prasad is also believed to have voiced his opinion in favour of Nitish, ahead of the proposed Janata parivaar merger.

Muslim man jailed in UK for planning to join rebels in Syria

A Muslim student who had been planning to join Islamic extremists in Syria has been jailed in Britain for 3.5 years.

David Souaan was sentenced today after having been found guilty in December of preparing for terrorist acts.

The 20-year-old Souaan had visited Syria in 2013 and was trying to returning there when he was arrested at Heathrow Airport in May.

Judge Peter Rook said Souaan had been “vulnerable to extremist views” because of his youth and immaturity. Souaan came to Britain in 2013 on a student visa to study international relations at Birkbeck College in London.

Plane crashes in Taiwan: 53 passengers on board

A Taiwanese commercial flight with 53 passengers aboard clipped a bridge shortly after takeoff and crashed into a river in Taipei.

The plane – a French-made ATR-72 turboprop – was flying from capital city of Taipei to the outlying island of Kinmen. Having taken off from Songshan Airport at 10:45 am, it lost contact with flight controllers just after ten minutes into flight and crash landed in Keelung River in Taipei.

Jordan executes 2 prisoners after IS killing of pilot

A Jordanian government spokesman says Jordan has executed two prisoners, including a would-be female suicide bomber from al-Qaeda.

The executions at dawn today came just hours after Islamic State militants released a video that purportedly showed a captured Jordanian fighter pilot being burned alive in a cage.

Jordan vowed a swift and lethal response.

Government spokesman Mohammed al-Momani said that two prisoners, Sajida al-Rishawi and Ziad al-Karbouli, were executed early today.

Burdwan blast: NIA arrests one person

The National Investigation Agency (NIA) on Wednesday arrested one more person from West Bengal in connection with the October 02, 2014, Burdwan blast.

The fresh arrest came days after four Jamaat-ul-Mujahideen Bangladesh (JMB) militants, who were running terror camps in West Bengal, were arrested in connection with the blast.

The NIA has so far arrested more than 16 people, mostly Bangladeshis, for the blast that took place at a house in Khagragarh in Burdwan killing two JMB militants and injuring another.

Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) spokesperson GVL Narasimna Rao on Wednesday said that the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) are aware that they would be losing in the upcoming Delhi Assembly elections and are therefore making excuses in advance such as faulty Electronic Voting Machines.

“AAP know that they are going to lose in the Delhi assembly elections and therefore are looking for excuses in advance such as faulty EVMs. This is not right. They are trying to divert attention from the core point,” said Rao.

Violence in UP prison after inmate’s death

Violence broke out in a Uttar Pradesh jail as prisoners attacked officials after an inmate was found dead under suspicious circumstances in the toilet, police said on Wednesday.

The incident took place in Kannauj around midnight. Police resorted to cane charge and the situation was said to be tense till reports last came in.

The body of Hari Om, who was serving a life sentence in a dowry death case, was found in the toilet at around 8 pm on Tuesday, hung by a cloth.

The deceased’s father is also serving a sentence in the same jail while his elder brother was recently released.

US approves new drug for binge eating disorder

The US Food and Drug Administration (FDA) has approved a drug to treat moderate to severe binge eating disorder (BED) in adults – a first of its kind prescription drug specifically indicated for BED.

The new drug lisdexamfetamine dimesylate will be available under the brand name Vyvanse, the US-based The Obesity Society (TOS) said in a statement.

Sensex up 66 points; metal stocks surge

A benchmark index of Indian equities markets Wednesday was trading 65.90 points or 0.23 percent up as metal stocks surged.

Good buying was observed in metal and healthcare sectors. Selling pressure was seen in capital goods sector.

The 30-scrip Sensitive Index (Sensex) of the S&P Bombay Stock Exchange (BSE), which opened at 29,129.85 points, was trading at 29,066.04 points (at 09.23 a.m.) in the early session, up 65.90 points or 0.23 percent from the previous day’s close at 29.000.14 points.

One-and-half-year-old girl raped, strangled to death in Pak

Autopsy report revealed on Tuesday that a one-and-half-year-old girl was raped before being strangled to death in Pakistan’s Karachi, media reported.

The body was recovered in Nazimabad, however, it is not yet clear where the rape and murder took place, Dawn online reported.

Additional Police Surgeon Rubina Hasan, who conducted the minor’s autopsy, said she was subjected to sodomy.

Liaquatabad Superintendent of Police (SP) Tahir Noorani said the family members of the victim claimed the minor girl’s body was found in a street outside her home.

Slash in fuel prices an election stunt: AAP

Aam Aadmi Party ( AAP) Ashish Khetan has said that slashing of fuel prices was a stunt by the government keeping February 07 Delhi polls in mind.

Indian Oil Corporation (IOC) said it would cut the retail price of diesel by about 4.7 percent and that of gasoline by 4.1 percent from Wednesday, as global prices have eased since the last revision.

Retail prices of diesel would be cut by rupees 2.25 rupees a litre and that of petrol by rupees 2.42 a litre.

US immigration fight jeopardizes homeland security funding

The US Senate votes today on whether to advance a controversial Republican bill that funds homeland security but rolls back President Barack Obama’s immigration plan, with Democrats revolting against the measure.

In December, lawmakers funded all federal departments through the end of fiscal year 2015 except for the Department of Homeland Security, which it funded only through February 27 so the new Republican-controlled Congress could put brakes on Obama’s plan to shield millions of undocumented workers from deportation.
