38yr old Man killed in road accident

A 38-year-old man died of injuries which he suffered when the bike he was riding lost control and hit another vehicle.

According to police, the accident occurred near Uppal petrol pump on July 26. The deceased, K Eshwar Prasad, hit a vehicle carrying pipes of Metro Rail after losing control of his motorcycle. He was admitted to the Gandhi Hospital for treatment where he died Saturday. He was a resident of Vijayapuri Colony of Vanasthalipuram and an employee of a private firm. (INN)

Venkaiah seeks concrete plan on VGTM Metro Rail project

Union Minister for Parliamentary Affairs M Venkaiah Naidu called on Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu at the Lake View Guest House here on Saturday.

The controversy over the Kausarnag Yatra by Kashmiri Pandits is being raked up by “forces inimical to communal harmony” in Jammu and Kashmir, senior Congress leader Ghulam Nabi Azad said Saturday.

Israel Saturday said it was not seeking any agreement over the Gaza conflict any more to bring an end to its offensive that has killed 1,664 Palestinians so far, even as efforts gained ground on reaching truce in Gaza, with Egypt hosting Palestinian groups, including Hamas, for ceasefire talks.

Israel said it will not attend the Gaza ceasefire talks in Cairo as planned, as “there is no point” in trying to achieve an agreement with the Hamas movement, Xinhua reported citing Israel’s Ha’aretz daily as saying Saturday.

Syrian forces kill infiltrating jihadists

Many radical jihadists have been killed, as Syrian forces foiled an infiltration attempt from neighbouring Lebanon, media reports said Saturday.

Syrian soldiers backed by the pro-government National Defence Forces confronted an armed rebel group infiltrating from Lebanon’s border town of Ersal into Syria’s al-Qalamoun region in the northern countryside of the capital Damascus, Xinhua reported citing state-run SANA news agency.

The Syrian Observatory for Human Rights said 50 rebels were killed while attempting to infiltrate.

Attacking the Mamata Banerjee government over rising encephalitis deaths in West Bengal, the BJP Saturday sought the intervention of the state governor in the matter.

The government will share its decision on the row over the civil service entrance examination at an “appropriate time”, Minister of State in the Prime Minister’s Officer Jitendra Singh said Saturday.

Minor raped in moving car in Delhi

A minor girl was kidnapped from outside her home and raped in a moving car by her neighbour and two of his friends, police said Saturday. The three accused have been arrested.

The incident occurred Friday afternoon in Mukundpur area of north Delhi.

The three men – Satish Sisodiya, Sanjay and Giju – were arrested hours later after some residents noted the number of the car in which the crime took place.

Scheme To Develop Forests On The Anvil—Jogu Ramaiah

Telangana State forests and tourism Minister Jogu Ramaiah today visited the Deer park at Vanasthalipuram, along with the officials concerned.

Factory blast in China kills 68, two officials held

At least two people have been detained in connection with an explosion at a metal factory in China’s Jiangsu province that claimed the lives of 68 people and injured 187 others.

There were 264 people at the site when the explosion hit the wheel hub polishing workshop owned by the Taiwanese-invested Kunshan Zhongrong Metal company in Kunshan city Saturday morning, Xinhua reported.

Kunshan is a small city located outside of Suzhou in Jiangsu province of eastern China.

Kunshan Zhongrong’s two senior executives have been placed under police custody, sources said.

Man dies of electric shock in Delhi ATM booth

A 35-year-old man died of electric shock Saturday after he touched a door in which current was flowing due to a defective wire, police said.

The incident happened after the man withdrew money from an Automated Teller Machine (ATM) in Holambi Kalan village in west Delhi, police said.

Shyamnath Pandey, who worked in a factory in Bawana area, died of electric shock in the afternoon after he touched the door in which current was flowing because of some loose wire, police said.

He was about to move out of the ATM booth when the incident happened, police said.
