Two senior Indian Olympics Association’s officials, including its secretary Rajeev Mehta, have been arrested in Glasgow on charges of alleged sexual assault and drunken driving, according to reports.

The Indian officials are in Glasgow for the 2014 Commonwealth Games, which will end tonight.

Scotland Police reportedly said that two male members, aged 45 and 49, were arrested on separate charges.

They said that while Mehta was arrested for driving in a drunken state, wrestling referee Virender Malik was booked for sexual assault.

A new survey has revealed about the different places Americans prefer having sex, where the idea of sex on public transport topped the list.

According to the New York Daily News, the survey conducted by Durex, condom making company, to celebrate National Orgasm Day, showed that 30 percent respondents fantasized about sex on plane with only 5 percent actually having it, News.com.au reported.

Armed Reserve police constable Eshwara Rao, who was fatally stabbed by fake currency note criminals on the city outskirts on Friday night, was given a tearful farewell by the people and relatives.

Eshwara Rao, who belonged to Salanthri village under Sarubujjili mandal of Srikakulam district, has been working in the city since 2011. Attached to Hyderabad City Police Commissioner’s Task Force died in the encounter with the fake currency racket members.

His body was cremated with police honors.

Meryl Streep has started learning guitar for Diablo Cody ‘s new movie ‘Ricki and the Flash’, it has been revealed.

The ‘Juno’ screenwriter told the Hollywood Reporter that the reason they had not shot the movie yet was that Streep had been learning to play guitar.

The movie is about struggling rocker who attempts to reconcile with her neglected kids, one of whom is played by Streep’s real-life daughter, Mamie Gummer

Filming will begin from October 1 in New York, where Cody’s two children with Maurio, now 2 and 4, will accompany her to the set. (ANI)

The Tungabhadra reservoir is receiving heavy inflows following rains in the State. The water level in the reservoir has risen to 85,000 cusecs. With this, the project officials lifted 33 sluice gates and letting out two lakh cusecs downstream.

The Tungabhadra Board officials called upon the people living along the Tungabhadra river to remain vigilant. The officials said the river may be in spate in the next two days. Tungabhadra Board superintending engineer Srinivasa Rao cautioned the people to remain alert.

AP Transport Minister Sidda Raghava Rao has said ensuring quality education to poor children was the goal of the State government.
