Pop star Britney Spears has turned to work to get over her split from boyfriend David Lucado.

The couple began dating in 2013, two months after Spears ended her engagement with Jason Trawick, but the 32-year-old singer decided to end the relationship after a video of Lucado with another girl surfaced online, reported People magazine.

Hours after the news of split broke, the singer hit the stage in Las Vegas.

“She looked amazing and seemed to be doing great,” a source said.

Kochi has acquired some fame in the wake of it recording the first combined instance of a pancreas kidney transplant.

This landmark surgery was successfully carried out at the Amrita Institute of Medical Sciences (AIMS) here.

This highly complex surgery was done on 35-year-old civil engineer S.Syed Yunus Shahi, who hails from Palakkad.

Syed’s family is thankful to the family of a 38-year-old donor, who was declared brain dead.

Mulayam asks leaders to ensure SP win in by-polls

Samajwadi Party chief Mulayam Singh Yadav on Friday asked leaders and ministers to ensure the party’s victory in the by-polls, which will be held on September 13 for 11 Assembly and one Lok Sabha seats in the state.

“Netaji (Yadav) has directed us to ensure that all the seats are won by SP,” Uttar Pradesh Minister Gayatri Prasad Prajapati told reporters after the meeting.

Average White Americans have only one percent blacks in friend circle

According to a study by the Public Religion Research Institute, only one percent of an average white American’s friends are blacks while 91 percent of them are whites.

However, black Americans have 83 percent blacks, 8 percent whites, two percent Latinos and zero Asians amongst their friends.

Despite the notions of ‘post-racial’ society, Americans have prominently segregated friend groups.

One of the statistics showed that 75 percent of white Americans are only friends with people from the same racial group, reported the Huffington Post.

An eight-year-old boy was today killed in Kaptanganj area here when his friend accidentally fired from his father’s gun, police said.

Ajesh Kumar was killed when his friend Bhimbati Yadav fired from the licenced gun of his father, SP Dinesh Chandra Dubey said.

Saudi king warns West will be jihadists’ next target

King Abdullah of Saudi Arabia has warned that the West will be the next target of the jihadists sweeping through Syria and Iraq, unless there is “rapid” action.

“If we ignore them, I am sure they will reach Europe in a month and America in another month,” he said in remarks quoted today by Asharq al-Awsat daily.

California legislature has recently sent the governor the first law of its kind called the ‘yes means yes’, which has been designed to reduce sexual assaults .

NTPC aims at 8,000-9,000 MW capacity takeover

Power major NTPC said it is aiming at 8,000-9,000 MW capacity takeover in stressed power plants but the recent Supreme Court ruling on coal mines may have an impact on the move.

“We have received 34 applications aggregating 55,000 MW generation. But, on a realistic basis, we expect to acquire plants worth 8,000-9,000 MW capacity after due diligence,” NTPC chairman and managing director Arup Roy Choudhury said on the sidelines of the annual conclave on environment and energy organised by The Bengal Chamber.
