Anil to play key role in T with investments

Reliance Group Chairman, Anil Ambani today congratulated K Chandrasekhar Rao for taking over as Telangana Chief Minister after a protracted struggle. During a meeting with KCR at Marri Chenna Reddy Human Resources Development Institute here, Anil expressed his willingness to invest money in sectors such as Infrastructure, Electricity, industries and media domains, it is learnt. The Reliance Group Chief also promised to play a key role in reconstruction of Telangana State. Golconda police received a complaint from Mohammed Khadeer (29) an Hotel worker, Resident of Maqbool House, Mothi Darwaza, Golconda, Hyderabad, stating that his son by name Mohd Mustafa (3) years was missing from his house, till now he has not returned to home. He searched for him all possible places but he couldn’t trace him. Hence He requested to take necessary action. CPI urges CM to legalise demolished houses in Ayyappa Society

Communist Party of India (CPI) today urged TRS government to provide legality to the properties of the people living in Ayyappa Society as majority of residents belonged to middle class section.
The CPI stated that it was unfortunate the GHMC personnel destroyed the structure without any prior notice on June 24 who have been staying in the land of Ayyappa society after paying Rs 89 crore in 2008 as ULC fees as per the 747 GO.

Rangarajan panel report on poverty attacked by parties

The Rangarajan Committee, which has suggested a new benchmark for describing poverty on Monday came under sharp attack from political parties, which said it amounted to “mocking at the poor” and makes neither “common sense” nor “economic sense”.

The ruling BJP said it will deal with the matter at an appropriate forum of the government.

“We think that the BPL criteria figures are misleading and we will take up the issue with an appropriate forum of the government,” senior BJP leader and Union Minister Uma Bharti said.

Power snag hits Chunnel services

A France-bound shuttle train broke down in the Channel Tunnel Monday morning, leading to long delays and evacuation of more than 300 passengers, traffic authorities said Monday.

The incident occurred around 7.30 a.m. in the 50.5-km long tunnel linking Britain and France.

The evacuated passengers have been relocated at the French terminal, a Eurotunnel spokesman said.

“We are currently having major delays and cancellations because of a problem with the overhead power line in the Eurotunnel,” Eurostar, a high-speed railway service owned and operated by Eurotunnel, said in a statement.

Egyptian Prime Minister today vowed to ban all kinds of violence against women with the help of a new and tougher law enforced in the country.

Assam CM calls on Modi

Assam Chief Minister Tarun Gogoi Monday called on Prime Minister Narendra Modi here and discussed issues concerning the state, including militancy and illegal immigration.

During the meeting at Modi’s office in parliament, Gogoi urged the prime minister to set up a counter-insurgency coordination mechanism involving police forces of all northeastern states to tackle problems of militancy in the state.

Russia seeks international efforts to save Iraq, Syria

The international community should join hands in preventing Iraq and Syria from disintegration, a senior Russian diplomat said Monday.

“We proceed from the fact that Iraq was and will be a single state… Russia hopes all its Western and regional partners will unite in our common desire to help Iraqis to preserve their territorial integrity and sovereignty,” Russia’s Deputy Foreign Minister Mikhail Bogdanov told reporters, adding that the same applies to Syria.
