2 drown in separate incidents

In two different incidents occurred under Moinabad and Langar Houz police station limits, two persons drowned suspiciously.

According to Moinabad police 35-year-old Aqueel Pasha S/O Jani Miyan who was labour by occupation drowned in kunta located in his area.

According to Langar Houz police 35-year-old Narendra S/O Ashok, R/O of Langar Houz drowned suspiciously at Huda park of Langar Houz.

Investigations are underway.

SBI ATM lifted from kiosk, money looted in Assam

A State Bank of India’s ATM was uprooted from its kiosk and Rs 5.38 lakh were looted from it by robbers in Kamrup (Rural) district, police said on Tuesday.

The bank’s agents had deposited Rs 45 lakh in the ATM near the Rangiya railway station last evening and a group of about 12 robber came late last night and lifted the entire machine and looted Rs 5.38 lakh while the remaining amount had been already withdrawn. The ATM was yet to be traced.

Government has provided suitable place to the officials of Telangana and Seema Andhra in the secretariat however both the governments have shown cold attitude with regard to Minority Welfare. No proper place is provided for Minority Welfare in secretariat of both the states. DUTA, student groups to hold protest today

The Delhi University Teacher’s Association (DUTA) and student groups will stage a protest on Tuesday reportedly demanding probe into the restructuring of courses for the Four-Year-Undergraduate Programme (FYUP) programme for students who took admissions in 2013.

Both DUTA and the students groups are calling for a meeting with the Delhi University Academic Council on the issue, as per news reports.

The protest is expected to take place on Tuesday afternoon.

Admissions to DU were delayed due to a row between the varsity and the UGC over FYUP’s continuation.

Minor girl killed in celebratory firing in UP

An 8-year-old girl was killed allegedly in celebratory firing during a marriage procession here, police said on Tuesday.

The incident took place last night when the groom’s father, Durgadutt Upadhaya, a BSP worker, fired from his licenced gun in Tabela gali while the marriage procession was on its way to a local guest house, V S Tyagi, Inspector Kotwali police station said.

Khushi was watching from the terrace of her house and suffered injuries in her stomach, he said, adding that she succumbed on her way to hospital.

Six fall ill after consuming cold drink

Six villagers fell ill after consuming cold drinks in Sonta village in the district, police said on Tuesday.

The victims complained of headache and vomiting soon after consuming the drinks on Monday and were taken to a hospital immediately, they said.

(Siasat News):  In a bizarre incident, a man was tonsured by the local people as a punishment for sexually harassing a 13-year-old girl. The accused Satish, 30, was harassing the girl for quite some time.

Enraged over this, the people of Asifnagar not only tonsured his head but also handed him over to Asifnagar police. Inspector Asifnagar Mr. J Narasiah said that the relatives of the victim had lodged a complaint with the police.

Lured with sweets, 3-year-old raped by teenager in Uttar Pradesh

A three-year-old girl was raped allegedly by a 15-year-old boy in Dehat area of the district, police said here on Tuesday.

The accused lured the victim after promising her sweets and allegedly raped her late last evening, in-charge of Dehat police station Padam Singh said.

Police said the boy has been arrested and the girl, who is in a serious condition, has been referred to a Aligarh hospital. PTI

A 46-year-old man has broken the Guinness World Record for holding an ‘abdominal hover plank position’ by strapping 100lbs to his back.

Troy Smith smashed the world record, by 24 seconds, for an incredibly painful exercise called the plank position by holding his body perfectly straight and horizontal with 110lbs, for three minutes and 19 seconds, the Daily Star reported.

Smith, who manages Oranka Juice Solutions health drink company, said that it was a struggle but he is elated that he managed to complete the task and felt “absolutely brilliant”. (ANI)

Minors still unsafe in golden Gujarat

A complaint of rape was lodged on March 30, by a 15- year-old girl against four persons in Ahmedabad. She alleged she was blackmailed and threatened with dire consequences on the basis of a video clip if she did not sleep with the four youngsters. They raped her whenever they wished over a period of two years. Later, the four were arrested on Sunday.

Suresh Soni (name changed), barely 17 years old, enticed a five-year- old girl with chocolates from his neighbourhood. He took her inside a bus, worked as a bus cleaner and raped her before cruelly killing her.

Afghanistan presidential polls: Ghani leads the race in preliminary counting

Former Finance Minsiter Ashraf Ghani is leading the race by a margin of 56.44 percent votes, according to the preliminary results announced by Afghanistan’s Independent Election Commisision on Monday.

According to the BBC, Ghani’s opponent, Abdullah Abdullah is trailing behind at 43.56 percent in the race to claim the presidency of Afghanistan. Both Abdullah and Ghani had earlier rejected the results in the first round alleging that the votes were rigged.

Two killed, two injured in Assam road mishap

Two persons were killed and two others injured when a speeding truck and a car collided in Assam’s Kamrup (Rural) district on Tuesday, police said.

The car was on its way from Dhubri to Guwahati when it collided with the speeding truck at Shalani Shingra area under Boko police station. Two persons travelling in the car were killed while its driver was critically injured. One person travelling in the truck was also injured, the police said.

Missing Thai girl found dead, raped

The body of a 13-year-old girl who went missing on Sunday from a train in Thailand was found Tuesday.

The girl was travelling in an overnight train Sunday from the southern province of Surat Thani to Bangkok, the Bangkok Post reported.

According to officials, the girl’s naked body was found Tuesday around 4.00 a.m in Wang Pong sub-district.

Earlier Monday, a 22-year-old bedsheet replacement employee of the State Railway of Thailand, confessed to raping and killing the girl, before throwing her body out of a window.

Humid conditions prevail in national capital

Humid conditions prevailed in the national Capital on Tuesday even as the minimum temperature settled at 28.6 degrees Celsius, one notch above normal.

According to a MeT official, the humidity level recorded till 8:30 AM was 50 per cent.

The mercury, however, is expected to soar with the maximum tipped to touch 39 degrees Celsius. Weatherman has predicted partially cloudy skies with thundry conditions likely in some parts of the city.

“There is very less possibility of rainfall” an official said.
