Three security personnel killed in Pakistan

At least three security personnel were killed and two injured Saturday when militants attacked a checkpost near the Pakistan-Afghanistan border.

According to officials, the militants from across the border in Kunar province of Afghanistan attacked the security check-post in Bajaur tribal agency, Dawn online reported.

The UN Security Council has expressed concern over the deteriorating situation in northern Yemen, calling for implementing the existing ceasefire agreements.

Quake triggers tsunami in Japan

A minor tsunami hit the Tohoku region in Japan near the Fukushima nuclear plant after a 6.8 magnitude earthquake hit the pacific coast.

According to the Japan Times, there was no reported damage after the Earthquake and Tsunami.

The Meteorological Agency reported that the tsunami was observed to be 20 cm (7.8 inches) in Miyagi Prefecture, Ofunato, Ishinomaki, and Iwate Prefecture.

The city of Soma also witnessed 10 cm waves roughly 40km north of the Fukushima No.1 plant.

The report mentioned that at least three people have been injured.

10 injured in clash between two groups of students in Muzaffarnagar

At least 10 persons were injured as two groups of students clashed at Purkazi town of the district here, police said.

SP (City) Sarvan Kumar told reporters here this morning that the clash occurred yesterday after a dispute broke out between the two groups over bathing in the canal here.

Kumar said it was students belonging to separate communities who were involved in the incident, which left several injured and also saw some vehicles being damaged.
