Finally, Tracy Morgan released from rehab

Hollywood comedian Tracy Morgan has been released from the physical rehabilitation centre he was recovering in and has thanked those who supported him during the trying times.

Tracy will continue his recovery efforts at home with an aggressive outpatient programme, reports tmz.com.

“He (Tracy) asked me to pass along his sincerest gratitude to everyone who has helped him get to this point,” said his representative.

Tracy checked into the centre last month after he sustained several broken bones, including his femur, on June 7 in a bus crash.

Four robbers of famous ‘Moradabadi gang’ held

Police Sunday claimed to have solved at least six cases of robbery in the capital following the arrest here of four alleged members of the infamous ‘Moradabadi gang’.

Rajesh, 38, Sanjay, 45, Mohan, 45, and Mohit, 25 – all residents of Moradabad in Uttar Pradesh – were arrested Friday near Rohini Sector 26 in north Delhi where they had allegedly gathered to commit another robbery.

“Their arrest led us to solve at least six cases of robberies committed by them in different areas of Delhi,” said Joint Commissioner of Police (Crime Branch) Ravindra Yadav.

Four held for gang rape in Gurgaon

Four men were arrested here Sunday for gang-raping a 45-year-old widow, police said.

Krishan Kumar, Balwant Singh, Dharmender and Pawan Kumar were arrested for gang-raping a woman from a Gurgaon village. Another accused Ricky is yet to be arrested.

All the accused are aged between 30 and 35 years, and hail from Khod village near Pataudi in Haryana.

“Krishan Kumar called the woman Saturday for showing her a plot in Pataudi,” police official Ranbir Singh Yadav told IANS.

Nepal PM recovers significantly from lung cancer

Nepal’s Prime Minister Sushil Koirala, who was recently diagnosed with lungs cancer, has been recovering quickly, his personal doctor said Sunday.

There has been immense improvement in his health following five rounds of radiotherapy in the period of last eight days, Xinhua reported.

“Recent x-ray inspection showed that the spot in his lungs has decreased by large,” Koirala’s personal physician Kabirnath Yogi told Xinhua over phone.

Four killed in Himachal bus accident

Four passengers were killed and 31 injured Sunday when a bus skidded off the road and rolled into a 30-foot deep pit in Himachal Pradesh, police said.

The Himachal Road Transport Corporation bus was on its way from Solan town to Shimla when it fell into the pit at Dhyarighat, near Kandaghat, on the National Highway No. 22.

Superintendent of Police Ramesh Chajta told IANS the accident happened when the driver was trying to overtake another vehicle.

Most of the injured were rushed to the Indira Gandhi Medical College and Hospital in Shimla.

Original Ramones drummer Tommy Ramone dead

Tommy Ramone, the last surviving original member of the legendary punk rock group The Ramones, is dead. He was 62.

Tommy Ramone, who worked with the group in their first three albums, died Friday at his home in the Ridgewood area of Queens.

He had been in a hospice following bile duct cancer treatments, reports variety.com.

Tommy stopped drumming for the band in 1984 and he was replaced by Marky Ramone, but still worked with the Ramones throughout the years.

Tommy is credited for writing most of “I Wanna Be Your Boyfriend” and “Blitzkrieg Bop”.

Cong decries denial of entry to dhoti-wearing judge at club

The Tamil Nadu unit of Congress today said it was “regrettable” that a High Court Judge was denied entry into a club here for wearing dhoti, the state’s traditional attire.

“It is not important who went there wearing dhoti, but a rule barring the entry into a club (for a dhoti-clad person) in Tamil Nadu is unacceptable,” TNCC president B S Gnanadesikan said in a statement.

It was “regrettable” that the judge was denied entry into the club because he was wearing the traditional attire, he said.
