Facebook may soon open up for kids under-13 with parental supervision

Social media website Facebook wants to patent a system, which would allow children to create accounts with parental supervision.

According to Politico, the patent application describes how a child seeking to join Facebook would first have to get a parent’s approval through the parent’s own Facebook account.

However, parents would then have the option to set privacy controls and to limit and monitor the kinds of content, friends and third-party applications available to the child.

HTC may soon join smartwatch race with ‘One Wear’: Report

HTC is reportedly planning to launch its debut smartwatch, which would be called ‘ One Wear,’ in late August or early September.

According to CNET, the Taiwanese company will be soon entering the smartwatch race to compete with bigshots like Samsung and Motorola.

A Chinese entrepreneur has patented the first ever suitcase scooter that can travel upto 37 miles on a single charge.

The electric suitcase scooter, which has been built by He Liangcai, can go as fast as 12mph and has a GPS and an alarm, ABC News reported.

The inventor, from Hunan Province, said that it took him 10 years to develop the scooter and he came up with the unique idea when he forgot his luggage on his way to the airport for a flight to the United States. (ANI)

Seven killed in storm in Jharkhand

Seven people were killed in a storm that raged across Jharkhand early Saturday morning uprooting electricity poles and hundreds of trees.

Police said a man, his two daughters and a son were crushed to death when the tree under which they were sleeping fell on them at Kona village in Chatra district.

In the second incident, three members of a family were killed at Baghtand in Dhanbad district in lightning, Dhanbad police said.

In lab research, EGCG, the active biologic constituent in green tea, changed the metabolism of pancreatic cancer cells by suppressing the expression of the LDHA enzyme associated with cancer.

The researchers also found an enzyme inhibitor, oxamate – known to reduce LDHA activity – operated in the same manner: It also disrupted the metabolic system of pancreatic cancer cells.
