Chrissy can’t keep up with Legend-ary hubby

Model Christine Teigen, known as Chrissy Teigen, is exhausted of listening how talented her husband and singer John Legend is.

HC declines to entertain plea seeking ban on Kejriwal’s letter

The Delhi High Court today declined to entertain a plea seeking a ban on publication and circulation of Arvind Kejriwal’s letter questioning orders sending him to judicial custody and also levelling allegations against BJP leader Nitin Gadkari.

A bench headed by Chief Justice G Rohini did not go into the issues raised in the Public Interest Litigation (PIL) which had also sought blocking of the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) website till the letter was withdrawn from it.

Bangladesh flagged off Teesta water sharing, boundary issues with India

Bangladesh has raised the issue of two pacts which are in anticipation of with India, the Teesta waters agreement and the Land Boundary Agreement with Prime Minister Narendra Modi and hopes he will be able to deliver on them.

The Speaker of the Bangladesh Shirin Sharmin Chaudhury Parliament in an interview to a newspaper on Tuesday said, “We have walked-the-talk with regard to Teesta waters and the Land Boundary pact. These are pending issues and we’re hopeful that these will be resolved in the near future.”

Jung visits home for mentally challenged

In a step towards improving the conditions of rehab homes across the city, Delhi’s Lt Governor Najeeb Jung today visited Asha Kiran Home for mentally challenged in Rohini.

After the visit, Jung said he was tremendously moved at the fate of the mentally handicapped and that Delhi government will do everything to improve facilities in all such homes.

“While man and state can never make up for the injustices of fate, we can do all we can to make such people comfortable. The state owes them this,” said Jung.

Indian goes on trial in UAE for possessing drugs

An Indian expatriate has been facing trial for smuggling in and possessing drugs in the UAE, media reported Tuesday.

The Indian driver, 28, identified only as A.S., was arrested with Tramadol drug tablets on his arrival at the Dubai airport following an arrest warrant by Ajman police anti-narcotics department March 28, Emirates 24/7 reported.

A.S. denied smuggling drugs at the Dubai Criminal Court and contended that they were bought against medical prescription.

Police recovered 36 Tramadol tablets, in addition to 39 buprenorphine tablets and other types of medicines from him.

Sussex players, coach ‘sickened and disgusted’ at ‘alleged’ fixing by Vincent, Arif

The coach and the players of English county side Sussex have reportedly been left ‘sickened’ and ‘disgusted’ with their former teammate and former New Zealand batsman Lou Vincent’s alleged match fixing while playing for the team.

Vincent was charged by the England and Wales Cricket Board (ECB) with 14 offences, relating to two county cricket matches he played for Sussex in 2011, while another former player Naveed Arif was charged with six offences.

People who drank diet beverages, including diet sodas and diet teas, lost an average of 13 pounds (approximately six kg) as compared to nine pounds (approximately four kg) on average who drank only water in the same programme, the study showed.

“I was surprised that diet beverages performed better than water,” John C. Peters from Colorado University’s Anschutz health and wellness center was quoted as saying.

No chargesheet handed to Sharif: Aziz

Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi did not hand over a chargesheet to his Pakistan counterpart Nawaz Sharif during their bilateral meeting in New Delhi Tuesday, Sharif’s National Security and Foreign Affairs Advisor Sartaj Aziz said here.

Aziz told a press conference here Wednesday that the meeting between Sharif and Modi in New Delhi was not just a photo op and its outcome proved better than anyone’s expectations.

Aziz said India and Pakistan have held discussions on terrorism and the 26/11 Mumbai attacks for the last five years, Geo News reported.

KCR may challenge PM on Polavaram

World’s fattest man dies at 48

Manuel Uribe, the world’s heaviest man, has died at the age of 48 in Mexico.

According to the New York Post, the Mexican man was taken to hospital recently due to heart problems.

He had trimmed down to 867 pounds, Contactmusic reported.

Officials used a crane to move him.

In 2006, Uribe earned his place in the Guinness Book of World Records by pointing the weight scale at whooping 1,230 pounds. (ANI)

New constitution within a year, Koirala assures Modi

Nepal’s Premier Sushil Koirala said during his meeting with new Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi he had allayed India’s concerns over Nepal’s delayed constitution making process.

During their meeting, Modi expressed concern over Nepal’s constitution drafting process, and in response, Koirala assured him that the new constitution would be ready within a year, The Himalayan Times reported.

Koirala attended Modi’s swearing-in ceremony Monday and the two leaders held talks Tuesday. Koirala returned to Kathmandu Wednesday.
