Six persons, including five of a family, were killed on Thursday and five others injured when a SUV they were travelling in rammed into a tree near Rajampeta town here.

A man’s suspicious death occurred under Kachiguda police station limits. The deceased was upset over the death of his first wife and betrayal of the second. 40-year-old Satya Narayana died suspiciously at his house yesterday night. His 10-year-old son was at the house when the incident occurred. According to sub-inspector police Kachiguda Satya Narayana performed second marriage after the death of his 1st wife. However the second wife ran away with her lover. Since then the man was in mental tension. He was a habitual drunkard too.
Road Transport and Highways and Shipping Minister Nitin Gadkari today said that restoring Ganga’s glory and tapping its potential as an internal transport mode along with full transparency in the Ministry’s functioning is top on his agenda.

A massive fire broke out in a high-rise building in Surat on Thursday morning.
As per initial reports, the fire first broke out at Vipul Sarees’ shop located on the fourth floor of the 17-story Orchid Tower and quickly spread to other floors.
There are no reports of casualties so far.

Cadbury the chocolate making company has recalled two products in mainly Muslim Malaysia after traces of pig DNA were found during a routine check for non-halal substances. Cadbury has voluntarily removed two of its products from the shelves said Health Minister S. Subramaniam. The molecular halal testing undertaken by Malaysia’s Islamic Development Department found traces of pork in Cadbury Dairy Milk hazelnut and Cadbury Dairy Milk roast almond products. Malaysia is seen as the global leader for halal certification.
India’s Ambassador to the United Emirates (UAE) T.P. Seetharam has praised the efforts made by the UAE in human rights and in maintaining labour rights.
The envoy made the remarks during a meeting Wednesday with Mohammed Hussein Al Hammadi, deputy chairman of the Emirates Human Rights Association (EHRA) and other members of the association.

Civil Liberties Committee (CLC) claimed that Rs. 6 lakh ex-gratia given to the kin of Shujauddin Khateeb, Mohammed Fareed and Wajid Ali killed in miscreants attack and BSF firing in Kishan Bagh is scanty. Government should have increased the ex-gratia upto Rs. 10 lakh. Apart from that the persons injured in BSF firing and attack by miscreants should also be given compensation immediately. Rs. 50 thousand compensation to each of the injured was announced but the same is not paid to them so far.
Delay in marriage led to suicide
(Siasat News): A man, who was frustrated over the fixing of his marriage, took the extreme step of ending his life. This incident occurred in Tukaramgate police station limits where the deceased V Ramakrishna, 30 hanged himself to death.
He was a driver and has been living at Addagutta. He was an alcoholic and there was one or the other difficulty in fixing of his marriage. The delay caused him great mental pressure that led him to suicide.
Police is further investigating.
There are a number of children in the city who work hard under the scorching sun to help their parents multiply their earnings. 10-year-old Babloo sells fish and helps his mother. Babloo’s mother told that he helps her the whole day and sells fish on the footpath. Babloo is her eldest son. During school days he studies till afternoon and helps her mother after coming from school. Similarly another boy who is working in an almirah factory evaded telling his name and other details.

Two days after a controversy erupted over her educational qualifications, Human Rresource Development Minister Smriti Irani said Thursday that “extraneous circumstances” were created by the opposition to divert her and requested the people to judge her on the basis of her work.
“Extraneous circumstances have been created to ensure that my attention is deviated from the work I have been entrusted with. I am judged by my organisation with regard to my capacity to deliver an assignment,” Irani told reporters here.
“I humbly request all of you to judge me by my work,” she added.
Civil Aviation Minister Pusapati Ashok Gajapathi Raju said Thursday that he will discuss Air India’s revival with Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
Speaking to reporters after taking charge at the Rajiv Gandhi Bhavan, the headquarters of the civil aviation ministry here, Gajapati Raju said: “I will discuss Air India’s situation with the Prime Minister. We will have to analyse the reasons for looses; is it competition or something else.”
The Comptroller and Auditor General of India (CAG) has slammed Oil Ministry and its technical arm DGH for not exercising enough control and vigil over Reliance Industries’ KG-D6 block which led to losses of several hundred millions of dollars to the exchequer.

A 30-working day session of Karnataka Legislature would begin on June 23, state Law and Parliamentary Affairs Minister TB Jayachandra on Wednesday said.
Briefing reporters after a cabinet meeting, he said the session would last till July 30.
“For the first time in the recent past, Karnataka will be holding 30-working day legislature session,” he said.
Siddaramaiah government was keen on conducting at least 60 days of legislature session in the year, he said.
