YSRCP Leader Mareppa Joins BJP

Former minister and YSRCP leader Mareppa joined the BJP on Saturday in the presence of Seemandhra BJP president K Haribabu.
Speaking to the media later, Mareppa alleged that YSRCP has neglected Madigas in the allotment of seats to them. He also questioned how a ticket aspirant can pay Rs 30 crores to the YSRCP for one seat.
The Madiga leader said that YSRCP chief Jagan does not know the meaning of credibility and was misleading the people by making false promises. (NSS)

Change in Laser show and HMDA Park timings

In view of the summer vacations, visitors to NTR Garden, Lumbini Park and Laser Show will be more in numbers. Keeping this in view, the Timings of the parks and Laser Show are changed from May 3.
As per the new timings, NTR Gardens will remain open from 12.30 pm to 8.30 pm, Lumbini Park from 9 am to 9 pm and Laser Show 1st Show from 7.15 pm and 2nd Show from 8.30 pm from May 3 to June 15. (NSS)

CS Reviews division of buildings

With deadline fast nearing on May 15 on bifurcation, Chief Secretary PK Mohanty today held a high level review meeting in Secretariat. Sam Bob, Principal Secretary Roads and Buildings, Finance Secretary PV Ramesh and other officials participated in the meeting. It is learnt that the Chief Secretary directed them speed up works related to their departments and complete the process immediately. 7 Papers for 10th Class in offing

Top officials of education department today held a review meeting on 10th Class Syllabus, changes to be made and other related issues in Secretariat here. According to information, the officials are said to have taken a decision to downsize the present 11 papers to just 7 papers for SSC students. Main aim of the decision to cut short the papers to 7 from 11 is to lessen the burden as well as give more focus on the remaining subjects. It is being expected that the decision will be implemented from next academic year onwards.

Government policies should be put in black and white: Modi

BJP’s prime ministerial candidate Narendra Modi Saturday said the possibility of discretion allowed scope for corruption and hence government policies should be put in black and white.

In an interview to TV channel Aaj Tak, Modi said the country should be run on policies to fight corruption.

“Today, unfortunately, there is huge scope for discrimination. The policies should be in black and white,” the Bharatiya Janata Party leader said.

India rejects Raheel’s remark on Kashmir

Karat accuses BJP of running communal campaign, wants Congress support

Communist Party of India-Marxist (CPI-M) chief, Prakash Karat, on Saturday said that the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) and its parent body the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) were running a communal campaign during the ongoing parliament polls.

Karat, general secretary of the CPM, said there was anti-incumbency mood prevailing in the country against the Congress party.

Kerry talks to Lavrov, urges Russia to stop supporting Ukraine

US Secretary of State John Kerry urged Russia to stop supporting Ukrainian separatists as he talked by phone with his Russian counterpart Sergei Lavrov today, a day after postponing the call.

Hailing the release of OSCE observers by pro-Russian rebels in the eastern Ukrainian flashpoint town of Slavyansk, Kerry said: “It’s a step. But there are many other steps that have to be taken in order to be able to de-escalate the situation.”

Modi refuses to comment on Priyanka

BJP’s prime ministerial candidate Narendra Modi Saturday refused to comment on Priyanka Gandhi Vadra, saying she was not in the poll fray.

“I would not like to comment on those who are not in the electoral competition,” Modi said in an interview to TV channel Aaj Tak, without naming Priyanka Gandhi.

Modi alleged he was being targeted at a personal level.

His remark came after Priyanka Gandhi, daughter of Congress president Sonia Gandhi, questioned him for not revealing his marital status so far.

•Red capsicum,peeled and cut into small pieces roasted 1 medium
•Yogurt 1 1/2 cups
•Black salt (kala namak) 1 teaspoon
•Salt to taste
•Red chilli powder 1 teaspoon
•Roasted cumin powder 1 teaspoon
•Fresh mint leaves,chopped 1 tablespoon
Method
Place yogurt in a bowl and whisk till smooth. Add red capsicum pieces, black salt, salt, red chilli powder, cumin powder, mint leaves and mix well. Chill and serve.
