Singer Selena Gomez is reportedly planning to sell her mansion in Tarzana here for $3.495 million.

The 21-year-old purchased the property in 2011 for $2.75 million, but she’s set to make a profit after putting it on the market for $3.495 million, reports femalefirst.co.uk.

The house has six bedrooms, eight bathrooms, and a gym, according to The Agency, a real estate company.

She also has a house in nearby Calabasas.IANS

North Korea releases report detailing list of ‘human rights abuses’ in US

North Korea has reportedly released a report listing human rights abuses in the US.

A news article titled “News Analysis on Poor Human Rights Records in US,” was released by the official Korean Central News Agency on Wednesday.

According to FOX News, the article discusses racial discrimination, unemployment and poverty and refers to the US as “the world’s worst human right abuser and tundra of a human being’s rights to existence”.

Obama gets serious as he goes through jokes

President Barack Obama’s former chief speechwriter, Jon Favreau revealed that president got serious as he went through one of the jokes.

Favreau, who recently appeared on Open Mike with Mike Allen said that in 2011, Jon Lovett, David Axelrod and him were about to go into the Oval office on the day of the correspondents’ dinner to do one more last run through, Politico reported.

Lead investigator Jean Goodman, division director of Maternal-Fetal Medicine at Loyola University Health System, said that a woman can conceive at any point in her cycle, so women should avoid alcohol well in advance of becoming pregnant.

Human fat could help in treating brain cancer

Researchers have claimed that they have used stem cells derived from human body fat to treat brain cancer in mice.

Scientists from Johns Hopkins University said that their biological treatment procedure using mesenchymal stem cells, which were harvested from human fat tissue, was able to successfully treat mice with the most common and aggressive form of brain tumor, significantly extending their lives.

Man strangles himself to death at Banjara Hills

A man committed suicide at Khaja Nagar, Banjara Hills by hanging himself. According to police sources 25-year-old Firdaus Khan, S/O Rahmatullah, R/O Khaja Nagar who was a private employee was worried over his ill health. He is believed to have hanged himself due to menial tension. Police has registered a case and investigations are underway.

Man brutally murdered at Petbasheerabad

Relatives brutally killed a man at Petbasheerabad. It is said that the man was axed to death in inebriated condition. According to police sources 40-year-old Pratab was killed by his relative. Family dispute was said to be the reason behind the murder. Pratab was drinking alcohol along with Raji Reddy and Raju at Dolapally when he was axed to death by his relative. Police is investigating the case.

Assam Victims refuse to bury till Cm visits them

Bodies of two children were identified as Ilina Khatun and Ariful Islam.

Three children, aged between seven and ten years, who were hiding in a forest on the banks of river Beki were also rescued, the sources said.

RTI activist appointed as advisor by Delhi Govt

The Delhi government has roped in noted activist Subhash Chandra Agrawal as an advisor to ensure better implementation of the Right to Information (RTI) Act in the administrative machinery.

Agrawal, who holds the Guinness World Records for maximum number of published letters to editors, will provide guidance and training on provisions of the RTI Act, 2005 to all PIOs/First Appellate Authorities under the Delhi government during his one-year tenure.

Working with the Administrative Reforms Department, Agrawal will also suggest ways and means for better implementation of the RTI Act.

30 students of MS qualify in IIT-JEE mains

MS Junior College started IIT coaching for poor and brilliant Muslim students in the year 2012. 30 students of the first batch of free IIT coaching programme 2014 qualified for IIT-JEE mains. No reports of fresh violence, curfew remains in force

There was an uneasy calm in Assam’s Kokrajhar, Chirang and Baksa districts after 32 people were killed in attacks blamed on National Democratic Font of Bodoland militants. There were no reports of fresh violence, but curfew remains in force in the affected areas.

Fifty three companies of central para-military forces, 14 Army columns were deployed in the affected areas. The Tarun Gogoi led-state government, which was facing the Opposition’s fire for its handling of the situation, has recommended a NIA probe in the attacks.

Maternal smoking linked to heart defects in kids

A research has found that children with heart defects were more likely to have been born to mothers who smoked, and the risk was highest in the heaviest smokers.

Patrick M. Sullivan, clinical fellow in paediatric cardiology at Seattle Children’s Hospital, said: “Our research provides strong support for the hypothesis that smoking during pregnancy increases the risk of specific heart defects”.

Older women had a higher risk of having a child with a heart defect if they smoked.
