Local court of the city granted anticipatory bail to Maulana Akbar Nizamuddin Husaini Saberi Sajjada Nasheen Dargah Hazrat Shah Khamosh Nampally. On the complaint made by Waqf Board, case had been registered against him by CBCID on various charges. It is said that Maulana Akbar Nizamuddin’s advocate approaching the local court of the city objected to the action taken by Waqf Board and appealed to stall investigations by CBCID. After hearing the argument the court granted bail. However he is directed to appear when called by investigative officer.

A powerful American Senator has proposed “100 days action plan” for the Modi Government and the Obama Administration to “refresh” the Indo-US relations.

Senator Mark Warner, who is the Democratic Co-Chair of the Senate India Caucus, has suggested the Modi Government to modify the defense-offset regime, agreeing to build community colleges in India, lifting the foreign direct investment caps in some of the sectors, and announcing a new electronic payment systems.

Modi opposes move to include his life story in school syllabus

Prime Minister Narendra Modi today opposed the move by BJP-ruled states of Gujarat and Madhya Pradesh to include his life story in education curriculum, saying living individuals should not be part of the school syllabus.

“I firmly believe that the life story of living individuals should not be included as a part of the school curriculum,” he tweeted.

“I am reading in the news that some states want to include Narendra Modi’s life struggles as a part of their school curriculum, he said.

TDP chief Naidu meets Jaitley, expected to call on Modi today

Telugu Desam Party (TDP) chief, N.Chandrababu Naidu has met Union Finance Minister Arun Jaitley here today.

Naidu is expected to discuss a whole range of issues pertaining to Seemandhra, which will form as the residual state out of Andhra Pradesh on June 2.

Obama, Hillary Clinton lunch privately at White House

US President Barack Obama and former secretary of state Hillary Clinton had an “informal” and private lunch together at the White House, media reported.

The meeting was not on the president’s official agenda Thursday, but the White House confirmed the lunch after a journalist with People magazine reported Clinton’s presence via Twitter.

My life’s struggle should not be included in school curriculum: Modi

India’s newly elected Prime Minister on Friday urged schools in India not to include chapters on his life and struggle in textbooks, saying that it was important for students to study other historical figures.

The Gujarat education department has decided to include a chapter on Modi’s life in the Social Science textbooks of its primary section (Classes 5-7), from the academic session starting from 2015.

Using twitter to express his concern for education, Modi said that the life story of living individuals should not be included as a part of the school curriculum.

At 42 degree, Jammu records hottest day of season

Winter capital Jammu recorded the hottest day of the season Thursday as the maximum temperature rose to 41.8 degrees Celsius.

An official of the weather office told IANS, “Maximum temperature rose to 41.8 degrees Celsius in Jammu City yesterday, the highest recorded in the season this year so far.

“The temperature is likely to rise further during the next few days as the present heat wave conditions will continue during this period”, the official said.

Due to the intense heat, people in the city mostly preferred to remain indoors.

Priyanka Gandhi visits Kashmir to pray at shrine

Congress President Sonia Gandhi’s daughter Priyanka Gandhi made an unscheduled visit to the Kashmir valley Thursday to pray at a famous shrine and returned to New Delhi the same evening.

Priyanka drove straight to the Mata Khirbhawani shrine in north Kashmir’s Ganderbal district after arriving at Srinagar International Airport. The shrine is 24 km from Srinagar city.

All traffic to and from Tullamulla town in district was stopped for her security during the visit.

No official confirmation of Abdul Qadeer’s death

Former constable Abdul Qadeer who was serving life sentence for killing his superior, Assistant Commissioner of Police of Chatrinaka Sattaiah for his alleged bias against Muslims during communal riots in early 90s, reportedly died today. However official confirmation of the death is still awaited.

Abdul Qadeer spends over 23 long years in jail. During the peak of riots in 1990 Abdul Qadeer then 29, shot dead Mr. N. Sattaiah for his alleged bias against Muslims.

$1 mn US reward for information on criminal network

The US is offering a reward of up to onr million dollars for information about a criminal network based in Central Asia, the State Department said Thursday.

The network of Kamchybek Kolbayev is allegedly involved in drug trafficking, arms trafficking, human trafficking, extortion, and other crimes, Xinhua quoted the State Department as saying in a statement.

The network is also part of the broader Brothers’ Circle transnational criminal organization composed of leaders and members of several Eurasian criminal groups, it added.

Nearly 85,000 South Sudanese people flee to Sudan: UN

The UN Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs (OCHA) says the aid groups have reported that nearly 85,000 people have fled the violence in South Sudan to Sudan since mid-December 2013, a UN spokesperson said here Thursday.

“More than one third of them are at the Kilo 10 (reception ) site in Sudan’s White Nile State, many with limited access to clean water and sanitation,” Xinhua quoted Stephane Dujarric as saying during a daily briefing here.

Turkish army holds military exercises

Turkish army has conducted military exercises on a large scale in Izmir province, a media report said Thursday.

The military drill with the code name — EFES-2014 — was held in Doganbey gulf of Seferhisar district, Xinhua reported.

The drill started Wednesday and Turkey’s all units such as air, naval and land forces commands are taking part in the drill with 8,500 soldiers’ particpation.

The drill aims to make troops and garrisons gain the ability to operate jointly and increase their training level, the report added.

NATO members hold air force exercise in Bulgaria

The NATO members conducted their air force exercise in Bulgarian village of Graf Ignatievo, about 10 km from country’s second largest city of Plovdiv, Thursday.

The military exercise, codenamed “Thracian Star 2014”, was joined by three European countries and the US as it held its Open Day here.

Over 30 warplanes and 800 servicemen from the US, Greece, Romania and Bulgaria, participate in this year’s largest NATO exercise in Bulgaria from May 25 to June 4, Xinhua reported.

Three killed, Car rammed into a road side sign board

Three persons were killed in a road accident at Outer Ring Road in Pahadeshareef police station limits on thursday.

According to Pahadi Shareef police, The victims, Balakrishna (29), Mallikarjun (58) and Basavamma (75) both are residents of Tsundur village in Guntur district, on Thursday afternoon hours three persons were going in a car when it rammed into a roadside signboard due to over speeding due to which three persons died on the spot.

Pahadishareef police registered a case and dead bodies shifted to Osmania Hospital Mortuary for postmortem and began investigations. (INN)

Failure in love drives 20-yr-old girl to suicide

A 20-year-old girl committed suicide by setting herself ablaze allegedly due to failure in love .

According to Falaknuma police, the deceased, Haneefa, took the extreme step at her residence in Fatima Nagar of Falaknuma on May 26. She suffered multiple burn injuries and was immediately rushed to Osmania General Hospital for treatment. She succumbed to burn injuries in early hours of Thursday.

Falaknuma police registered a case and dead body shifted to OGH mortuary for postmortem, according to sub-inspector Narender Reddy. (INN)
