Prior admits England dressing room would be ‘better place’ without Pietersen

England wicketkeeper Matt Prior said that his team’s dressing room will be a better place without controversial batsman Kevin Pietersen, who was sacked following England’s 5-0 Ashes whitewash in Australia.

Pietersen, who scored 8,181 runs in 104 Tests and 4,440 runs in 136 ODIs, was released from his ECB (England and Wales Cricket Board) contract earlier this month.

Bollywood actor Aamir Khan today said he is not shying away from politics, but that he was not interested in it.

“I am not shying away from politics. I am not interested in politics. I am interested in touching people’s heart,” he said responding to a query in this regard.

“People enter politics because they want to serve the country and serve the people. There are many other ways of doing it,” he said. “Actors have a huge role to play. We bring joy to people. we give joy, we bring laughter, colour in their life…,” he said.

‘I made lots of mistakes’: Brooks admits

Rebekah Brooks, media tycoon Rupert Murdoch’s former British newspaper boss, today acknowledged that she had made “lots of mistakes” and approved payments to public officials when she was editor of his tabloids.

“I personally made lots of mistakes”, Brooks, who edited Murdoch’s News of the World and Sun papers from 2000 to 2009, told the Old Bailey court here.

The 45-year-old, head of News Corp’s British newspaper arm until 2011, said she had agreed payments on a “handful of occasions” between 1998 and 2009, when she held senior roles at both publications.

Diabetic claims surviving on nothing but pizza for 23 years

A diabetic has claimed that his diet has consisted solely of pizza since he was 15 and he has no thought of stopping now.

Dan Janssen said that the Italian dish “is like sex-even when it’s bad, it’s good,” the Daily Star reported.

The 38-year-old diabetic, who gets regular low blood sugar from his diet, said doctors believe he is fit and healthy as ever.

NASA teams up with JAXA to launch new satellite to measure global rain and snow

A Japanese H-IIA rocket with the NASA- Japan Aerospace Exploration Agency (JAXA) Global Precipitation Measurement (GPM) Core Observatory onboard, has been launched from the Tanegashima Space Center in Tanegashima, Japan to measure global rain and snow.

“With this launch, we have taken another giant leap in providing the world with an unprecedented picture of our planet’s rain and snow,” NASA Administrator Charles Bolden, said.

Costa Concordia’s captain returns to ship wreck amid manslaughter trial

The captain of the ill-fated Costa Concordia, the cruise liner that ran aground off the Italian coast in late January last year, has returned to the wreck for the first time as part of his manslaughter trial.

The ship hit a reef near the island of Giglio in January 2012 and capsized, with the loss of 32 lives.

According to the BBC, Schettino was taken to the wrecked ship, accompanied by a group of court-appointed experts, on a small boat, two days after travelling back to Giglio.

Legendary Australian spinner Shane Warne has reportedly tweeted pictures of his bruises following a bet from a sports company which offered him 10, 000 Australian dollars to get 50 paintball shots from a distance of five metres.

Apple Design Award-winning app developer Tapity has reportedly introduced its own version of the tragic Flappy Bird game, which was taken down by its creator for being addictive.

The company, known for apps like Languages, Grades 3, and Hours, rolled out the “Buffalo Wings,” another filler for Nguyen Dong’s Flappy Bird.
