India among `high risk` countries for business travellers

India is reportedly one of the high-risk countries for business travelers, a new study has revealed. World”s leading medical and travel security risk services company, International SOS, in its medical case data from 2013, showed that its members were working and living in increasingly risky locations. It was found that 50 percent of cases in Asia and the Middle East were in ”high” risk countries with assistance most commonly required in Indonesia, India, China and Vietnam.

`Ghostbusters` star Harold Ramis dies at 69

Harold Ramis, who was best known for his portrayal of ghost-hunter Egon Spengler in the ‘Ghostbusters’ franchise, has passed away at the age of 69.

The actor’s agent told the BBC that he died of autoimmune inflammatory vasculitis, a rare disease that involves swelling of the blood vessels.

Ramis’ family said in a statement that his creativity, compassion, intelligence, humour and spirit will be missed by everyone who knew and loved him.

Several of Ramis’ friends, including former costar Bill Murray, had visited him recently. (ANI)

Kim K mocks Khloe`s shoes by calling them `ugly`

Kim Kardashian has mocked her sister Khloe Kardashian’s tatste in shoes by calling them the “ugliest shoes she has ever seen”.

The 33-year-old TV personality took to social media site MobioINsider saying that she and Khloe fight every single time she goes to her house because she has the most shoes, Us Magazine reported.

Kim said that her sister is a “shoe border” and would buy the same pair of shoes in 5 colors, which puts her in a bad mood thinking about it.

Two killed, 10 injured in suicide attack outside Iranian Consulate in Peshawar

Two Pakistani security guards were killed and several others injured in a suicide bombing outside the Iranian consulate in Peshawar in northwest Pakistan. The bomber blew himself up after being stopped at a security post in the University Town area. According to the BBC, a group allied to the Pakistani Taliban claimed responsibility for the attack, saying it would attack Shias everywhere. Neighbouring Iran, which is predominantly Shia, condemned the bombing.

Pakistan denies Saudi govt interested in buying Pak arms for Syrian rebels

Pakistan has denied reports that Saudi government has shown interest in buying Pakistani arms for the Syrian rebels. Talking to BBC Urdu on Monday, the Foreign Office Spokesperson Tasnim Aslam asserted that the reports were ”baseless and have no sense”. Saudi Arabia would reportedly be buying antiaircraft guns and anti-tank rockets from Pakistan if the deal was finalised.

Zuckerberg says WhatsApp `actually worth more than $19bn`

Facebook founder Mark Zucerberg reportedly said that he believes WhatsApp was actually worth more than the eye popping 19 billion dollar price he paid for the acquisition. During a keynote event at the ongoing Mobile World Congress, Zuckerberg said that if they can do a good job with WhatsApp and grow it, it would be a huge business. According to Tech Crunch, Zuckerberg further revealed that it was because of Internet.org, the Facebook-led initiative to bring Internet connectivity to developing economies, which made the two companies agree on the deal.

UP govt for discussion of new rape law

Uttar Pradesh government on Tuesday said that it would discuss the concerns raised by the BJP regarding misuse of the new rape law.

“We will see to it.., concerned minister and me will sit and discuss on the apprehension of the BJP member regarding misuse of new rape law,” Parliamentary Affairs Minister Mohd Azam Khan said in Vidhan Sabha during question hour.

Khan was replying to BJP member Suresh Kumar Khanna who said the tougher rape law was being misused to settle “political vendetta” and should be looked into.

Modi owes explanation on Gujarat riots: Khurshid

External Affairs Minister Salman Khurshid on Thursday said that BJP prime ministerial candidate owes an explanation over the 2002 Gujarat riots.

“There is a person today who was in office then, and who wants a larger office. Should he not explain?” Khurshid said to a news channel.

He added: “Someone seeking a high office, who was responsible, and over whose watch these things happened owes one word of explanation, if not an apology.”

Khurshid’s comments came following US Ambassador Nancy Powell’s meeting with Modi in Gandhinagar earlier in the morning.

A mentally- challenged 16- year- old girl was allegedly gang- raped by five men inside a lorry late on Sunday.

The incident occured in Kolkata Chitpur area, police said. Police have detained two men for questioning.

Woman kills self fearing public humiliation

A 21- year old woman committed suicide in North 24 Parganas district of Kolkata fearing public humiliation, the police said.

The deceased was identified as Tanima Das who hanged herself from the ceiling in her room on Sunday after her classmate and ex- boyfriend threatened to post their intimate photos and videos on social networking sites.

The accused, Jay Sarkar, was arrested by the district police and produced in a district court on Monday.

BBMP laid foundation for Integrated Waste Management Facility (IWMF)

On Monday, the Bruhat Bangalore Mahanagara Palike (BBMP), in association with Switzerland-based Satarem India laid the foundation for the Integrated Waste Management Facility (IWMF) in the City.

The project taken up under public-private partnership implies Satarem installing the City’s first IWMF on Nelamangala-Hassan Road. The total cost of the plant is close to Rs 300 crore. Venkatesh Sivaraman, Executive Director, Satarem India, said that it would take as a minimum of two years to accomplish the work.

Jaipur labourer gives free music lessons to slum kids

A daily wage labourer, who could not puruse his own dream, is opening up a future for slum kids by teaching them music – for free.

Vijay, 25, who could not achieve his ambition of becoming a professional musician due to financial hurdles, spots musical talent in children from slums and encourages them to pursue it.

“I am not a professional musician or singer. My father was also a labourer. To earn some money in the part time, he used to play musical instruments at tourist spots. I always accompanied him,” Vijay told IANS.

Relatives identify Indian’s body in Jeddah

An Indian, whose body was found in the Saudi Arabian city of Jeddah, has been identified by his relatives.

Haneef Muhammad, 62, a mechanical engineer from Kerala, was found charred to death Feb 18 in Jeddah’s Sharafiyah district. His body was identified by his relatives Sunday, the Saudi Gazette reported Tuesday.

Muhammad’s sister and other relatives said that the body would be buried in Jeddah after completion of the the necessary procedures.

The police have apprehended some people in connection with Muhammad’s murder apparently due to a financial dispute.

Five policemen suspended over VIP treatment to accused

Five policemen were suspended Tuesday in Odisha’s Keonjhar district after they allegedly provided VIP treatment to a man arrested in an illegal mining case.

Among the suspended policemen, one is a havaldar and others are constables. Further inquiry is on, District Superintendent of Police Kavita Jalan told IANS.

The cops were suspended after they allegedly allowed Deepak Gupta, an accused in a multi-crore rupee mining scam, stay in a hotel instead of a government hospital.

Placement of clitoris might be key to orgasm!

A new study has revealed that the size of clitoris matters, and that women with orgasm problems may have smaller clitoris, which is located farther from the vagina.

Researchers at the Good Samaritan Hospital in Cincinnati, Ohio, who used MRI to scan the pelvic area of 30 women in their 30s, found that ten of these women had rarely or never achieved orgasms despite trying, the Huffington Post reported.

Researchers have revealed that these women with orgasm problems had smaller clitoris and the direct distance between the clitoris and the vagina was 5 to 6 millimeters longer on average.

4,500 Cr Budget presented by GHMC mayor

Now Greater Hyderabad is going to be a common capital of Telangana and residuary Andhra Pradesh for 10 years, the Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC) has come to a decision to seek funds from both governments.

Pakistan refuses to grant NDMA status for India unless concerns addressed

Pakistan has said it would not grant Non-Discriminatory Market Access (NDMA) to India until New Delhi addressed Islamabad”s core concerns relating to non-tariff barriers hampering exports of Pakistani goods. Sartaj Aziz, Adviser to Prime Minister on National Security and Foreign Affairs, made the comments while responding to a media question whether by the end of February Pakistan would grant NDMA status to India.
