The authors studied 64,322 children and mothers in the Danish National Birth Cohort (1996-2002). Parents reported behavioral problems on a questionnaire, and HKD diagnoses and ADHD medication prescriptions were collected from Danish registries.

More than half of the mothers reported using acetaminophen while pregnant.

A new study has revealed that eating a meat-rich diet, which has been fried, barbecued or grilled, can trigger Alzheimer’s disease and accelerate ageing.

Scientists have discovered that harmful ‘Ages’ compounds in the “Western diet” cause a build-up of a dangerous protein that forms toxic deposits which ravage the brain, the Daily Express reported.

Researchers found that the high levels of these compounds suppress a protective enzyme concerned in conditions related to brain, metabolic disease, ageing and diabetes.

PPP irked by minister’s offer to play cricket with Taliban

The main opposition Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) today submitted an adjournment motion in the National Assembly over Interior Minister Chaudhry Nisar Ali Khan’s invitation to the Taliban to play a cricket match.

The motion seeking a discussion on the issue was submitted by PPP lawmakers Imran Legahri, Shazia Marri, Ijaz Jhakrani, Kamal Khan and Abdul Sattar Bachani.

It stated the minister had invited the Taliban to play cricket at a “sensitive time”. It added that Khan’s offer was tantamount to insulting the people and security forces of Pakistan, Geo News reported.

Thailand building collapse toll rises to 10

At least 10 people were killed Tuesday and 16 others injured when a building under construction at a hospital in Thailand’s Samut Prakan province collapsed.

According to an earlier report, at least nine people were killed and 18 others were injured.

Though some workers had been rescued, many others were believed to be still buried under the debris.

A concrete beam fell down at the building site, part of the expansion of the Ramathibodi Hospital’s Chakri Naruebodindra Medical Centre, around noon Tuesday, the Bangkok Post reported.

Nitish gave MLAs bribes to leave RJD, says Lalu

New research has shown relation between acupuncture use and physical processes that could alleviate sepsis – a condition that often develops in hospital ICU’s, springs from infection and inflammation.

The researchers already knew that stimulation of one of the body’s major nerves, the vagus nerve, triggers processes in the body that reduce inflammation, so they set out to see whether a form of acupuncture that sends a small electric current through that and other nerves could reduce inflammation and organ injury in septic mice.
