Apologise, says BJP after Khurshid calls Modi impotent

The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) Wednesday said that External Affairs Minister Salman Khurshid should apologise for calling its prime ministerial candidate Narendra Modi “impotent”.

Salman Khurshid in a rally in his constituency Farukkabad, Uttar Pradesh Tuesday said: “Our allegation is not that you (Modi) get people killed…but that you are napunsak (impotent)”. It was in reference to Modi’s claims to be a strong man, yet failing to protect people during the 2002 riots.

New blood test could detect heart attacks early

Scientists including an have developed a new blood test that can help detect heart attacks hours faster than the current gold-standard blood test.

The new test measures a protein that is released to the bloodstream by dying heart muscle.

The protein is called cardiac myosin binding protein-C (cMyBP-C). The study found that cMyBP-C is released to the blood within just 15 minutes of cardiac damage, and rises to significant levels in three hours.

Cancer risk escalates among Fukushima kids

A new study has revealed that the cancer risk among 1-year-old girls in Fukushima has increased slightly.

The study, which checked the radiation exposure of around 460 residents living near the crippled plant, found that after 2012, the lifetime solid cancer incidence rate will be raised by 1.06 percentage points in the Tamano area of Soma, Fukushima Prefecture, from the average rate of 31.76 percent, the Japan Times reported.

According to the study, the l ifetime solid cancer incidence rate was relatively higher in the Tamano area than the other two areas among all age groups.

How two men completed Captain Scott’s ill-fated South Pole trek

Ben Saunders and his co-explorer Tarka L’Herpiniere took 105 days of trekking across the South Pole to complete the trek undertaken by Captain Scott’s ill-fated ‘Terra Nova’ expedition of 1912.

In an interview with the Independent’s Nick Duerden, Saunders said that the biggest challenge was to convince people about how extraordinary the feat was.

The pair trekked for 1800 miles for almost four months and completed the longest man-haul polar journey in history.

Ingredients

3 to 4 Slices of Bread

2 tsp chopped Coriander Leaves

1 Green Chili, squarely cut

1/2 tsp minced Ginger

1 tsp Salt

1/4 tsp ‘Garam Masala’ (ground spices)Powder

1 pinch Turmeric Powder

1 pinch Chill Powder

1/2 cup finely grated Carrot

1/2 cup chopped Onion

1/2 cup grated Zucchini or Cucumber

Preparation

Heat the Oil in a frying pan.

After adding all the vegetables,fry it for 4-5 minutes and sprinkle salt and continue stirring until they achieve a fine texture.

In the water dip the bread slices and remove it instantly.

Almond Butter Sandwich

Ingredients

4 tbsp sliced Almonds

1 tbsp Honey

1 tsp ground Cinnamon

1/2 cup Almond Butter

4 tbsp Raisins

8 slices Whole Grain Bread

Directions

Together in a bowl mix almond butter, honey and cinnamon.

Spread the almond butter mixture finely in a slice of bread

Then sprinkle one tbsp of raisins and almonds over it

Then put the other slice of bread on it.

Serve it with ketchup or any chutney.

Ugandan homosexuals under threat after tabloid lists names of 200 top gays

A tabloid in Uganda has reportedly divulged the names of the country’s “200 top homosexuals”, posing threat for gays, who now fear a witch hunt following the revelation.

The tabloid ‘Red Pepper’ listed the names under a headline that read ” Exposed”, a day after President Yoweri Museveni signed an anti-gay bill that punishes gay sex with up to life in prison.

According to the BBC, many of the people named on Red Pepper’s list are known to be homosexuals, and some of them live abroad.

The list also includes some Ugandans who had not identified themselves as gay before.

14-year-old UK boy busted for raping own mum

A 14-year-old UK boy has become the youngest person to be arrested on charges of raping his own mother.

The crime reportedly took place in the boy’s family home in Blackpool, where the accused lived with his two brothers, the Daily Star reported.

A judge has remanded the 14-year-old in custody at Blackpool Magistrates Court and his case has been adjudged a “grave crime”, which will be heard at Preston Crown Court at a future date. (ANI)

IT employee ends life
(Siasat News): A 24-year-old youth working in an IT company ended his life by hanging in his rented flat.

His dead body was recovered from the flat situated in Gachibowli who is identified as Rajsekhar Reddy of Guntur. His roommate said that he was found hanging from the ceiling fan.

No suicide note was found near the dead body. Police Raidurg has registered a case and further investigations are on.

Pak official warns of civil war in Afghanistan after US threat of complete withdrawal of troops

Pakistan has reportedly warned that withdrawal of US troops from Afghanistan may result in civil war.

The remark comes in the wake of the Obama administration threatening “zero option”, following which no US troops would be left on the ground after 2014.

An unnamed senior Pakistan official said that departure of US forces would likely create “mayhem” in the country, which could ultimately prompt one third of Afghan security forces to desert their posts in the Army and police, adding that the zero option would mean a civil war in Afghanistan, CS Monitor reported.

Gmail’s message delivery disrupted days after Web apps crash

Google Gmail’s delivery of messages was reportedly disrupted for a couple of hours, days after the search giant’s Web apps faced outage lasting five hours.

Google acknowledged that messages sent via Gmail were being received with a delay.

According to PC World, the message delivery system was disrupted around 5 a.m US Eastern Time and the issue was resolved two and half hours later.

Google later posted an update note saying that most of the delayed messages had been delivered and that the remaining messages would be delivered over the next hours.

California couple finds $10mln in gold coins while walking their dog

A couple from northern California discovered 10 million dollars in gold coins while walking their dog.

The unnamed couple found 1,427 rare, mint-condition gold coins buried in the shadow of an old tree on their property in Gold County, NBC News reported.

Almost all of the coins, which date between 1847 and 1894, are in uncirculated, mint condition, David Hall, co-founder of Professional Coin Grading Service of Santa Ana, who authenticated the hoard, said.
