Police Complaint against Asaduddin Owaisi for provocative speech

A local BJP leader sanjay on Friday registered a police complaint against Hyderabad MP Asaduddin Owaisi for provocative speech against Bollywood Super star Salman Khan and Gujarat Chief Minister Narendra Modi.

The BJP leader, in his complaint lodged at Mumbai’s DB Marg Police Station has alleged Asad Owaisi of using inappropriate language against Salman Khan and Narendra Modi, and asked the police to register an FIR against Asaduddin Owaisi and arrest him.

Was an early riser but irresponsible as student: Obama

US President Barack Obama has said he used to get up every morning before sunrise for studies during school days but was an “irresponsible” student.

Obama yesterday said that as a young child, he used to wake up everyday early in the morning at 4:30-5.00 am for studies while they were living abroad so that he can keep pace with the American education system.

He said his mother understood the importance of education in one’s life.

Mohsin Khan confident of making Pakistan successful once again

Former opener Mohsin Khan, who enjoyed considerable success during his short tenure as Pakistan’s interim coach, has said he can instill that same spirit and hunger once again into the players.

Khan was the Pakistan national team’s interim head coach for five months before being replaced by Dav Whatmore in March 2012.

Criticizing U.S for the way it is gradually withdrawing its colossal stimulus programme, Raghuram Rajan said that it was time Washington and other developed nations recalled the role played by developing economies in pulling out the global economy out of recession.

Kejriwal and BYPL planned power cut conspiracy, says BJP”s Vinay Katiyar

Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leader Vinay Katiyar on Friday claimed that Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal and the Discom company BSES Yamuna Power Ltd (BYPL) were behind a conspiracy to cut power in the capital for ten hours. “Kejriwal”s plans are not good. I think both the company and Kejriwal are in cahoots with each other. Both are focusing on their own profits due to which the people of Delhi are going to suffer,” said Katiyar. “He (Kejriwal) needs to think hard on all issues before making promises on behalf of the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP).

India is Dubai International Airport’s largest destination

India has retained its position as largest destination country for Dubai International Airport in 2013, according to a report.

India remains at the top with 8,401,253 passengers, a year on year growth of 14.3 per cent compared to 7,347,270 in 2012, the annual traffic report said.

UK is placed second with 5,099,843 passengers (up 24.1 per cent) followed by Saudi Arabia at 4,825,114 (up 34.2 per cent), it said.

Woman kills brother-in-law for trying to sexually assault her

A 23-year-old woman stabbed her brother-in-law to death, after he allegedly attempted to sexually assault her, police said here today.

The woman, a third-year college student, has been detained, after the incident at a house in Madhavaram Milk Colony last night, they said.

Her brother-in-law had forced her into a room before attempting to assault her sexually, while the woman’s sister and another relative were trying to open the door, they said.

The body has been taken for post-mortem and further investigations are on in the case, police added.

AP: 7 including Cong rebel in fray for election to 6 RS seats

A contest is now inevitable for the six Rajya Sabha seats in Andhra Pradesh as seven candidates, including a Congress rebel, are in fray as the deadline for withdrawal of nominations ended this afternoon.

It is after 1999 that an election is being held for Rajya Sabha seats in the state, Legislature sources said.

Only one of the two rebel candidates — K V V Satyanarayana Raju alias Chaitanya Raju — has withdrawn his nomination while another, Adala Prabhakar Reddy, refused to budge despite strong pressure from the Congress leadership.
