T bill with legislators’ views reaches CS

The much-awaited views elicited in the Assembly on Telangana Draft Bill reached Chief Secretary P K Mohanthy today.
Informed sources said the Chief Secretary is likely to send the Telangana Draft Bill with views of the legislators to the Union Home Ministry after giving finishing touches as per procedures. YSRCP second plenary today

Lokesh plans cycle yatra

TDP young leader Nara Lokesh, son of party chief N Chandrababu Naidu, is planning to undertake a cycle yatra in the state.

Pakistan sends Indian crew of delayed flight to Dubai

Three Indian crew members of a delayed Qatar Airways flight were sent to Dubai from here after Pakistani authorities refused to allow them to stay at a hotel outside the airport.

Co-pilot Shah Pooja Kant and crew members Mehtal Rahul and Galarani Tina reached Lahore on Thursday afternoon on Qatar Airways flight QR-620 from Doha.

The Civil Aviation Authority informed Qatar Airways that the flight back to Doha would have to be rescheduled as operations at Lahore airport were affected by a forecast of dense fog. The flight was then delayed till Friday morning.

Kejriwal gets legal notices

Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal, who stirred the hornet’s nest by accusing several politicians of being corrupt, was today bombarded with threats of legal action by a number of them if he fails to apologise.

BJP leader Ananth Kumar and Congress MP Avtar Singh Bhadana sent legal notices to the Aam Aadmi Party leader for levelling the allegation.

In his legal notice, Ananth Kumar said Kejriwal’s allegations were “motivated, baseless and malicious”.

Congress president Sonia Gandhi and BJP’s prime ministerial candidate Narendra Modi’s names have been added in the Aam Aadmi Party’s list of “corrupt leaders”, AAP leader Yogendra Yadav said here Saturday.

The names of Gandhi and Modi were added after taking feedback from volunteers and party workers, he said.

“AAP has added the names of Sonia Gandhi and Narendra Modi in the list of corrupt leaders as they are leading their parties of corrupt politicians,” he told the media, adding the AAP will field candidates against both the “corrupt” leaders.

BJP demands roll-back of power tariff hike

Criticising the Delhi government for its failure to check the power tariff hike, the BJP Saturday protested in the national capital and demanded an immediate roll-back.

Staging a protest at Bhajanpura, Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) Delhi unit chief Vijay Goel said Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal has failed to check power tariff hikes and that the party would hold protest marches all over the city.

“Kejriwal-led AAP had promised that after forming the government, they will reduce power price. Instead power tariff has increased by six to eight percent,” said Goel.
