As usual, Revanth raps KCR, Jagan

Continuing his tirade against TRS president K Chandrasekhara Rao and YSRCP president Y S Jaganmohan Reddy, TDP senior leader Revanth Reddy today demanded that the Centre and State government to order a probe on the institutions which conduct election surveys.
The institution which conduct wrongful election surveys, should be boycotted socially, Revanth Reddy said and alleged that YSRCP was influencing such institutions using its money power amassed illegally.

Tailor murdered allegedly by a group of persons

A 58 year old tailor was murdered allegedly by a group of persons at Doodhbowli over a civil dispute on Wednesday night hours.

According to Hussaini Alam police, deceased M Santosh Kumar (58) a tailor and proprietor of Sumangal Tailors at Begum Bazaar R/o Doodhbowli was returning home from his workshop on his two wheeler when he was attacked with sharp weapons near Kamatipura temple murdered allegedly by a group of persons at Doodhbowli in Hussainialam over a civil dispute on Wednesday night instantly he was died. The victim suffered around nine stab injuries in the attack.

Painter commits suicide on inebriated condition

A 28-year old Painter committed suicide by hanging at his residence on inebriated condition.

According to Banjara Hills police, deceased K Rambabu (28), resident of NBT Nagar, on Wednesday evening hours deceased Ram Babu used to visit the house in inebriated condition and creating nuisance for demanded her mother Shantamma to pay money, but her mother denied his words and deceased started beating his wife and sisters, later he was committed suicide by hanging at his room on Wednesday evening hours.

Cook commits suicide in KPHB Limits

A 36 year old man committed suicide by hanging at his residence in limits of KPHB police station.

According to police, deceased K Srinivas (36) a Cook S/o Venkatesh R/o KPHB, He was suffering from ill health and about one month back his son died, due to mental depression from last one month, deceased Srinivas On Wednesday night hours taking extreme step committed suicide by hanging at his residence.

Man electrocuted to death at Saidabad

A 25-year-old-man died of electrocution at Saidabad on Wednesday night hours.

According to the Saidabad police, Deceased identified as M Raju a salesman S/o Guru sidappa, resident of Old Santosh nagar while working on Wednesday night hours accidentally he got electrocuted and unconscious the police said. He was rushed to a nearest private hospital but he was declared dead by the doctors.

Saidabad police registered a case and dead body shifted to OGH Mortuary for postmortem. Sub inspector K Mutyalu said. (INN)

GHMC launches “She Cabs” scheme

Tandur Inspector transferred for “illegally” detaining businessman

Tandur Police Inspector Sudheer Reddy, who was accused of illegally detaining a local businessman, has been transferred.

The move came after Andhra Pradesh High Court directed the Tandur Police on February 25 to submit a report within two weeks on the alleged illegal detention and torture of a local businessman, Mohammad Amanullah Rizwan, by the Inspector.

Indo-Pak officials likely to meet next month on LoC trade

India and Pakistani officials are likely to meet in New Delhi next month to review Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for trade along the Line of Control in the wake of the row over arrest of a truck driver hailing from Pakistan-occupied-Kashmir (PoK) for allegedly smuggling ‘brown sugar’ worth Rs.100 crore.

Trading relations between the two countries had hit a new low following the incident at Kaman post in Uri of North Kashmir on January 17 and the traders were not allowed to cross over for over three weeks.

Neighbour rapes 10-year-old girl

A 10-year-old girl was allegedly raped by her neighbour in Kaliyar village of Roorkee, in the second such incident in Haridwar district in the last four days, police said on Thursday.

The girl was playing outside her house in the village on Tuesday when Islam, who lived nearby, took her to his place on some pretext and allegedly raped her, they said.

When the girl returned home, the family came to know about her ordeal and reported the matter to the police.

The accused, who has criminal antecedents, has been arrested and sent to jail following a court order.

Arvind Kejriwal to hold ‘Jhadu Chalo Yatra’ in UP

Aam Aadmi Party leader Arvind Kejriwal will hold a three-day road show covering 15 Lok Sabha seats in Uttar Pradesh.

“Arvind Kejriwal will be in Uttar Pradesh for Lok Sabha poll campaign from March 1-3 and undertake the Jhadu Chalo Yatra,” said party leader and Political Affairs Committee (PAC) member Sanjay Singh.

The rally will start on March 1 from party office in Kaushambi and proceed to Ghaziabad, Pilkhuwa, Hapur, Amroha, Moradabad, Rampur, Bareilly, Shahjahanpur and Hardoi.

Hitting back at Finance Minister P Chidambaram for his postage stamp barb, Gujarat Chief Minister Narendra Modi today said he can enlist knowledgeable people to help him govern based on the principle of being a “trustee.”

BJP declares 54 Lok Sabha candidates

The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) Thursday announced its first list of 54 candidates for the Lok Sabha elections and fielded former party president Nitin Gadkari from Nagpur.

The list was announced after a meeting of the party’s central election committee.

It includes candidates for Jammu and Kashmir, Arunchal Pradesh, Goa, Manipur, West Bengal, Odisha, Maharashtra and Himachal Pradesh and has several sitting and former parliamentarians.

Vijaya Shanthi joins Congress

Cine actress and TRS MP M Vijaya Shanthi on Thursday joined Congress at a time when the possibility of TRS merging with Congress seemed to have hit a roadblock.

Mollah hits out at CPI-M

India-born Shia scholar among 4 shot dead in Karachi

Unidentified gunmen shot dead four persons, including a prominent India-born Shia scholar, in this Pakistani port city today in target killings.

Four gunmen opened fire on an auto-rickshaw in which Allama Taqi Hadi Naqvi was travelling, police said.

Naqvi succumbed to his wounds in hospital, police official Imran Shaukat said.

Renowned within academic circles, Naqvi was born in Moradabad district of India’s Uttar Pradesh state and moved to Pakistan with his family after independence.

Sena chief slams Khurshid for remarks about Modi

BJP’s key ally in the NDA, the Shiv Sena castigated External Affairs Minister Salman Khurshid here today for his remarks against Narendra Modi and said he should prove himself first.

Americans would give up TV before Internet: survey

Americans have become so enamored of the Internet, they would more readily forgo television than online access, a survey showed today.

The Pew Research Center survey released ahead of the 25th anniversary of the World Wide Web found 53 percent of US Internet users would find it “very hard” to give up Web access, up from 38 per cent in 2006.

Even when counting those who don’t go online, Pew said 46 per cent of all adults would find it hard to give up the Internet.
