Woman skids off railway platform, dies in Kanpur

A woman skidding off a railway platform and was stuck between the platform and the train for almost 45 minutes, before succumbing to her injuries. Terrorists kill police inspector, injure two others in Budgam District

Senior Jammu and Kashmir police officers have arrived in the state’s Budgam District to pay their last respects to the Station House Officer (SHO) Inspector Shabir Ahmad, who was killed by terrorists at point blank range this morning. Ahmad’s body was placed a tri-colour draped wooden coffin for all ranks of the police to pay homage before it is sent to his home in Uri in Baramulla District. Two other cops were also injured in the incident outside Chadoora Chowk police station in Budgam District of Kashmir.

Pak likely to announce Taliban peace strategy by end December

Pakistan is likely to announce the government’s new strategy regarding talks with the Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP) by the end of December, a senior interior ministry official said.

Information Minister Pervaiz Rashid said that the government is almost at the conclusive stage to resume talks with the TTP, the Express Tribune reports.
