MBT’s black day on Babri Masjid demolition

(Siasat News) Dr. Khayam Khan, Chairman of MBT announced that on 6th December Black Day will be celebrated. It may be noted that on 6th December 1992, Babri Masjid was demolished. MBT has been representing to the Govt. for the restoration of Babri Masjid for the past 21 years. He further told that India is a democratic country and all the sections of the society have a right to profess their own religion. He lamented that even today the culprits who demolished Babri Masjid are wandering freely. Justice will be done only when Babri Masjid is rebuilt at the same place.

Private tourist and School buses held

Transport Dept. has been checking the buses of private tour operators and school managements who are violating transport rules. Many vehicles have been seized and fines imposed. The Dept. of Transport become alert after the incident of Mahboob Nagar.

Officials of Transport Dept. seized 21 buses yesterday in Hyderabad, 20 in Warangal and 5 in Bhimawaram. In Ranga Reddy district the officials of Transport Dept. seized 41 private buses. These officials also checked the busses belonging to Engineering Colleges and Schools. 10 buses were seized and 20 buses were fined.

Sachin deserves every bit of ‘Bharat Ratna’: Ganguly

Former India cricket captain Sourav Ganguly today said Sachin Tendulkar is India’s ‘Bharat Ratna’ and deserves “every bit” of the country’s highest civilian award.

“Sachin is India’s Bharat Ratna. I was happy to be there (at the Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai) when he played his last test match. This man has done it for 25 years. He deserves every bit of it (of the Bharat Ratna),” Ganguly told reporters on the sidelines of a function here.

Replying to a query on the South African tour, he said “I think they have picked a good team for the tour.”

Secret Camera in Bathroom- Cable operator arrested

Police arrested, Ravi Shanker Prasad, a 40 year old cable operator who was watching the bathing of women by fixing a secret camera in their bathroom.

DGP Mr. V. Satyanarayana told that such incident are shameful. Action would be taken against the accused under section 364 (C) of Nirbhay Act. Banjara Hills police told that Ravi Shanker Prasad failed to record the bathing scenes of women. The accused admitted his guilt. Police is in search of technicians who helped him in fixing the secret camera.

Woman kills son and commits suicide near Vadodara

A young woman allegedly killed her one-year-old son before committing suicide in Indiranagar Vasahat in Dashrath village on the outskirts of the city today.

She took the extreme step after her husband failed to buy her a ‘mangalsutra’ (wedding necklace), the police said.

“I had promised to buy her a ‘mangalsutra’ in a couple of months after I made arrangements for the money,” her husband said.

The incident happened when he was out of the house getting a haircut at a saloon.

The dead bodies have been sent to the hospital for post mortem.

John Lennon’s report cards sell for $27,608

Two report cards that speak of the bad schooldays behaviour of ex-Beatle John Lennon, punished with detention for “fighting in class” and “sabotage” when he was 15 years old, were knocked down at auction for $13,804 each, TracksAuction.com reported Monday.

The British online auction, which rebroadcast the final bidding on its website this Sunday, sold the report cards for more than double the amount expected, it said.

White House urges DPRK to release US citizens

The White House Monday called for the release of US nationals held in North Korea, including an octogenarian detained of late.

“We’re deeply concerned about the welfare of the US citizens held in custody in the Democratic People’s Republic of Korea (DPRK),” Xinhua quoted spokesman Jay Carney as saying at a regular press briefing.

He cited continuing US appeal for the DPRK to set free Kenneth Bae, a 45-year-old Korean-American man who was detained in the country in November last year and sentenced to 15 years of hard labour for “hostile acts” against the country in late April.

Man, brother arrested for raping niece for 19 years

A man has been arrested along with his brother for raping his niece for nearly two decades, police said today.

The accused Shashi Thakur and Mukul Thakur were arrested on Saturday by the staff of Connaught Place police station after the girl, a fashion designer, had registered a complaint against the duo in April this year.

The victim, daughter of Shashi Thakur’s sister-in-law has alleged that she was constantly being raped since she was nine years old.

Rayala-Telangana- Strategy to blackmail

The proposal for Rayala- Telangana floated by the Central Govt. has created panic among the leaders of Telangana and Seema Andhra. Instead of forming Telangana with 10 districts, Central Govt. proposed to include Kurnool and Anantapur to form Rayala Telangana. Some Congress leaders have also given their consent for this proposal. It may be noted that CWC had passed the resolution to form Telangana with 10 districts only. The GoM has not yet finalized its report. In such a situation, floating Rayala Telangana proposal seems to be a strategy of Congress High Command.

Pakistan rejects proposal for Taliban office on its soil

Pakistan has turned down Afghan President Hamid Karzai’s request to allow Taliban to set up an office in the country, according to a media report today.

“Our role (in the Afghan peace process) will remain that of a facilitator and not a leader…Allowing the Taliban to open an office in Pakistan will be contrary to our principled position,” Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif was quoted as saying by an unnamed aide.

UP CM orders suspension of 8 govt officials

Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Akhilesh Yadav today ordered suspension of eight senior officers for laxity in executing of their duties and sought explanation from some others, an official spokesman said here.

Akhilesh, who undertook surprise inspection of Banda and Fatehpur districts, has sought an explanation from the principal secretary PWD and principal chief engineer of the department for poor condition of the roads, he said.

BJP has reservations about Bill on LBA with Bangladesh: Swaraj

President to visit AMU’s Murshidabad campus

President Pranab Mukherjee will address faculty members and students at the Aligarh Muslim University’s Murshidabad campus Dec 7.

The president will also inaugurate B.Ed course at the campus in West Bengal.

As the union finance minister, Mukherjee had laid the foundation stone of the campus Nov 20, 2010 in a 288-acre plot of land.

AMU Vice Chancellor, Lt. Gen. (retd.) Zameer Uddin Shah, would welcome the president and present the report of the centre, which began functioning with two courses – MBA and an integrated BA-LLB – in 2010-11.

Dikshit attacks Modi on last day of campaigning

On the last day of her political campaigning for the Delhi assembly polls, Chief Minister Sheila Dikshit Monday criticised the BJP’s prime ministerial candidate Narendra Modi for “misleading people by telling lies”.

Without referring to Modi directly, the three-time chief minister said: “I have answers to all the claims made by the gentleman of Gujarat about it being the best served state.”

Dikshit said the Congress government would not have been elected had it destroyed the city – a charge often made by opposition parties.

1984 riots: HC notice to Centre on compensation plea

The Delhi High Court Monday issued notices to the central and the Delhi governments on a plea of a 1984 anti-Sikh riots victim’s widow asking the government to provide her compensation for her loss.

A division bench of Justice P.K. Bhasin and Justice V.P. Vaish sought the governments’ response by Dec 12 and asked them to “explain the steps taken on the representation made by Jagdish Kaur”, also a witness in the case, seeking compensation.
