Recruitments in Govt. departments

(Siasat News) State Cabinet has approved the proposal of feeling up of 14,115 vacancies in the state which includes 74 lecturers, 262 doctors, 92 engineers, 19 mechanical posts, 425 paramedical staff, 543 Gazetted posts, 4692 non-gazetted post, 4 drivers, 7746 Anganwadi workers, 64 outsourcing vacancies. Ms. D.K. Aruna, Information Minister told this to newsmen after the cabinet meeting yesterday. She also said that Govt. would incur Rs. 161.66 crore annually on these appointments.

Waqf Board makes amendments in Waqf act to protect Waqf properties

Waqf Board chairman Maulana Syed Ghulam Afzal Biabani Khusro Pasha released a book regarding Waqf Act 1995 and the fresh amendments made in it. He asserted that protection of waqf properties can be done through the recent amendments made in the Waqf Act 1995; it will also ensure increase in Waqf Board income through effective development of the properties. If the amendments made in the Waqf Act are strictly implemented then Waqf Board can launch several schemes for the welfare of Muslim minorities on its own. He added.

(Siasat News) A large number of patients spend huge amounts for various medical tests which are done in corporate diagnostic centres. Last month in a TV show, Mr. Amer Khan had exposed the heavy charges of diagnostic centres. It is also known that doctors who prescribe medical tests get commission from the diagnostic centre. In TV serial “Satyame Vajayate” the bribe taken by the doctors has been exposed.

Govt. decides to amend Municipal Act.

(Siasat News) In order to keep GHMC away from legal complications in connection with unauthorized building constructions, Govt. has decided to amend section 452 of Municipal Act of 1955. This amendment will provide powers to GHMC to dismantle unauthorized constructions if satisfactory justifications are not provided by the builders within the stipulated time. It has been observed that for unauthorized constructions builders approach the courts and get stay orders. The proposed amendments will not provide this facility.

Bhopal gas victims remembered & survivors sympathised

India’s stand on Kashmir shows ‘lack of sincerity’: PM Sharif

Pakistan Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif today claimed the Indian government’s repeated declaration that Jammu and Kashmir is an integral part of its territory reflected its “lack of sincerity” to resolve the “core issue”.

Sharif made the remarks during a meeting with a delegation of the All Parties Hurriyat Conference at Muzaffarabad, the capital of Pakistan-occupied Kashmir (PoK).

He expressed his “dismay at the contradictory stance” taken by the Indian government in addressing the “core issue” of Kashmir, said a statement issued by the Prime Minister’s House.

Health schemes for Govt. employees and their families

(Siasat News) State Govt. has issued orders in G.O.Ms. No. 174 yesterday to provide health care to its employees, pensioners and their families. Govt. has notified a few hospitals were treatment would be given free. This scheme replaces the present medical reimbursement system. It will be implemented by Arogyashree Health Care Trust. The scheme would implemented from 5th December. Deductions from the salaries of the employees and the pensions of the pensioners would be effective from 1st January 2014. Arogyashree Health Care Trust has started a separate portal www.ehf.gov.in.

10 prisoners escaped from Mental Hospital

(Siasat News) 10 prisoners who were undergoing treatment at Mental Hospital Erragadda managed to escaped using oxygen gas cylinder. Police arrested 8 of them and brought them back. However, the remaining prisoners are still out of reach of the police.

It is learnt from the reliable sources that the wife of one of the prisoners had come yesterday and he escaped along with his wife. Police have alerted railway station, parks and other places. These prisoners were shifted to Erragadda Mental Hospital since they were ailing.

BJP Ex-MLA Rathore abuses Cantonment CEO, booked

Former BJP legislator Prem Singh Rathore has been booked for allegedly making sexist remarks against Secunderabad Cantonment Board CEO Sujatha Gupta during a recent agitation near the Agrasen Trust.

Rathore had allegedly said that he would get Gupta married to fix her psyche and that he would shame her near the Agrasen Trust.

The police has booked a cased for sexual harassment under the Criminal Law Amendment Act. Former MP Girish Sanghi has also been booked for abusing policemen at the same rally along with 20 others.

AP Infrastructure Facility Scheme of Urdu Academy launched

Urdu Academy Andhra Pradesh launches the Infrastructure Facility, for the government and aided Urdu Medium schools of the state, for the year 2013-14. Issuing a press notification Prof. S A Shukoor Director Secretary Urdu Academy stated that applicants seeking infrastructure must submit the form issued by Urdu Academy and after certification by concerned D.E.O.

‘Delhi, Mumbai will be among world’s 5 largest cities by 2030’

Delhi and Mumbai would be among five largest cities in the world by 2030, Union Urban Development minister Kamal Nath said today.

“India has 53 cities with over a million population. Its is estimated that by 2030, India will have more 70 cities with a population of more than a million, 13 cities with a population of four million and six mega cities with a population of more than 10 million. And at least two of them -Delhi and Mumbai will be among the five largest cities in the world,” Nath said here.

Assembly session to begin on 12th December

(Siasat News) State Cabinet has decided to convene winter session of Assembly on 12th December. Mr. A. Ramnarayan Reddy, Finance Minister and other ministers told this yesterday while talking to newsmen. The duration of state Assembly will be decided by Business Advisory Committee. In case Telangana bill is presented in the Assembly, the session could be extended. It may be noted that Assembly has to meet at least once in six months.

DGP asked to give report over cops’ action against protesters

Andhra Pradesh State Human Rights Commission today ordered the state DGP to submit a report over the police action against a group of agitators during a protest here last week.

The complaint had been filed by members of Mahabubnagar Bus Victims Families Action Committee accusing the police of acting against them during their protest against Transport Minister B Satyanarayana at the Ministers’ Quarters in the city.

Based on their complaint, the APSHRC today directed the DGP B Prasada Rao to submit a report by December 16.

New Taliban chief returns to Pak tribal areas

Mullah Fazlullah, the new chief of outlawed Pakistani Taliban, has made his way into Pakistan’s unruly tribal areas from neighbouring Afghanistan where he was based since the 2009 military operation in Swat.

Quoting sources, Geo News reported Fazlullah, who is nicknamed “Mullah Radio”, had arrived in Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan’s (TTP) stronghold in North Waziristan in the country’s restive northwest along with 15 of his aides.

Fazlullah will preside over the meeting of Taliban ‘Shura’ in few days, it said.

Court issues production warrants against BSP MP, wife

A Delhi court today issued production warrants against BSP MP Dhananjay Singh and his wife Jagriti Singh, currently lodged in jail under judicial custody in connection with the murder of their maid.

Metropolitan Magistrate Gomati Manocha issued the production warrants for December 5 since they could not be produced before the regular court for extension of their judicial remand.

Britain’s top art prize awarded to Laure Prouvost

The annual Turner Prize for art, the most prestigious contemporary art prize in Britain, has gone to French artist Laure Prouvost.

For the first time in the history of the Turner Prize, the award was presented in the Northern Ireland city of Londonderry, as part of that city’s celebrations as the UK City of Culture 2013-14, Xinhua reported.

The four nominated artists this year were Prouvost, Tino Sehgal, David Shrigley, and Lynette Yiadom-Boakye.
