Police today registered a case against some BJP activists for allegedly demolishing a ‘temple’ of Sonia Gandhi in Karimnagar town.

According to the police, a group of BJP activists has demolished the ‘temple’ (made of vinyl boards) on the name of Congress president Sonia Gandhi.

The ‘temple’ was built in Karimnagar town by local Congress leader Sunil Rao.

He passed away peacefully at 20:50 (local time), December 5, Zuma said.

“He is now resting. He is now at peace…Our nation has lost its greatest son. Our people have lost a father,” he said.

The Times Now-C-Voter survey predicted a hung assembly, with 29 seats to BJP, 21 to Congress and 16 to AAP.

Babri Mosque demolition anniversary: Police lay siege to Ayodhya

A three-tier security cordon was today thrown around this town and all its entry points were sealed to maintain peace on the eve of 21st anniversary of Babri Mosque demolition as Muslim organisations decided to observe “black day” and Hindu outfits a “day of victory”.

Around 10,000 personnel from state police, Rapid Action Force (RAF) and Provincial Armed Constabulary (PAC) have been deployed to maintain law and order, official sources said.

Killer tiger captured in Karnataka forest

The 10-year-old elusive male tiger, which mauled three people to death in a week, was captured in Karntaka’s Bandipur forest Thursday and shifted in a cage to Sri Chamarajendra zoo here, a senior official said.

“The tiger was captured around 1 p.m. after it was tranquilised inside the Bandipur forest and about 300 metres away from the spot where it killed the third victim Tuesday,” Deputy Conservator of Forests K.C. Kantharaju told IANS.

Kashmir should be resolved peacefully, says Pakistan

Pakistan Thursday said the Kashmir issue should be resolved “peacefully through talks based on UN Security Council resolutions”.

“The present government has also extended its full support to the Kashmir cause. We believe that the Kashmir issue should be resolved peacefully through talks based on UN Security Council resolutions,” Foreign Office spokesman Aizaz Chaudhry said at a briefing.

He said the Nawaz Sharif government has “always urged the Indian government to engage with us in meaningful and substantive talks to resolve this long standing dispute”.

Justice Ganguly’s conduct is of sexual nature: SC panel

The three-judge committee of the Supreme Court has indicted Justice A K Ganguly of committing an “act of unwelcome behaviour” and “conduct of sexual nature” towards a woman law intern but dropped any further action since he was a retired judge on the day of the incident.

Chief Justice of India P Sathasivam’s statement that “no further follow up action is required by this Court” in view of the fact that Justice Ganguly had demitted office on the day of the incident Dec 24 last year raised questions on the next course of action in the case.

Paul Walker’s Porsche was traveling at 100mph at time of crash

Paul Walker’s car had been traveling at 100mph when it crashed and went up in flames.

The 40-year-old ‘Fast And Furious’ actor’s friends lost control of the Porsche Carrera GT, which was traveling at 100mph in a 45mph zone, and hit a tree which resulted in their death, the Daily Star reported.

Previously Los Angeles police had received a tip that another car was at the scene when the crash happened, but investigators have since ruled out the possibility of a race. (ANI)

Attacking the Congress and the Gandhi family, BJP leader Arun Jaitley Thursday said the ruling party is “completely demoralised” and a dynasty’s charisma is never long-enduring.

“The Congress appears to be completely demoralised. In the last phase of the elections, the Congress leaders almost abandoned the election campaign for Delhi assembly,” Jaitley said in a post on Facebook.

Cabinet clears bill for creation of Telangana state

The union cabinet Thursday approved the draft bill for bifurcation of Andhra Pradesh and carving out Telangana as the 29th state of India.

Setting aside speculations about Rayala-Telangana, the cabinet decided to carve out Telangana state comprising 10 districts of the region.

Also rejecting the demand of leaders of Seemandhra (combined Rayalseema and coastal Andhra regions) for making Hyderabad a union territory, it stuck to the earlier decision that the city would be a common capital for 10 years.
