Conspiracy to finish Urdu from Maulana Azad National Urdu University

The identity of Maulana Azad National Urdu University is in danger. Due to its national character, the domination of north Indians was being felt hitherto but with the appointment of non-Urdu knowing teachers, it is losing its Urdu character. Urdu University was founded on the basis of promoting Urdu language and imparting higher education through the medium of Urdu to link it with job oriented courses. 2 kids die, 7 ill after eating food at anganwadi centre

At least two kids died and seven others fell ill allegedly after taking food at an anganwadi centre in Odisha’s tribal dominated Mayurbhanj district today, police said.

The deceased children were identified as 3-year-olds Kajal Behera and Siba Behera of Jamada Sahi village under Jashipur police station in Mayurbhanj district.

Is it a boy or a girl? Germany allows babies to be neither

Germany today became the first European country to allow babies born with characteristics of both sexes to be registered as neither male nor female, but advocates called for broader reforms.

Under the new legislation, the entry for gender can be left blank on birth certificates, effectively creating a
category for indeterminate sex in the public register.

But activists promoting the rights of so-called ‘intersex’ people said they hoped the creation of a third gender option would open the door to broader changes limiting genital surgery on newborns with both male and female

Muslim-Dalith Unity-Need of the hour- Mr. Zaheeruddin Ali Khan

For gaining power, unity is the basis but it is very regrettable that despite constituting 89.3% of the total population, SCs, STs, BCs and Minorities are begging for reservations in front of those who are not in majority. These thoughts were expressed by Mr. Zaheeruddin Ali Khan, Managing Editor of SIasat Urdu Daily in a meeting held at Mahboob Nagar on Wednesday. This meeting was organized by Minorities Reservation United Front of Mahboob Nagar. Mr. Zaheeruddin Ali Khan told the weaker sections that they are real rulers but a section of society with 10% population is ruling them.

Mohammed Younus’s painting exhibition

Mr. Mohammed Younus was born in 1954. He is a qualified Artist who completed Diploma in Painting from College of Fine Arts of JNTU. He was a student in that college in 1971 to 1976. He organized his first exhibition in March 1977 in Kolkata. He joined his family business in 1978 and started view point advertising and marketing agency. He went to Saudi Arabia and worked in two major companies as Creative Artist. He organized exhibition of his paintings on the occasion of Heart Conference organized by King Faisal Hospital. He returned to Hyderabad after 25 years.

IAS Committee to probe bus fire mishap

Chief Minister N Kiran Kumar Reddy on Friday ordered setting up of committee of senior IAS officers to probe the cause of Palem bus mishap. The committee would also suggest measures to prevent such accidents in future.

Whale shark found dead near Gujarat coast’s Sarakhadi village

A 30-feet whale shark was found dead on the Arabian Sea coast near Sarakhadi village in Kodinar taluka of Saurashtra district recently.

Dinesh Goswami of a local nature club said here today that it had been lying there in a decomposed state for five to six days.

Along with other members of his club, Goswami rushed to the spot and informed forest department officials who got a veterinary doctor to conduct a post mortem on it.

They used cranes to lift the creature which weighed three tonnes.

Mr. Taher Ali, ACP gets award

C.M. of A.P. Mr. N.Kiran Kumar Reddy awarded Mohanta Award to ACP of Falaknuma, Mr. Mohammed Taher Ali. He was appointed as Sub-Inspector of Police in 2000. He also got Seva Padakam in 1992 and Uttam Seva Padakam in 2002. He served in various police stations in the city. In 2002, 2003 and 2004, he also served as Hajj Volunteer. The then Consul of Hajj, Dr. Ausaf Sayeed gave him a certificate of merit in recognition of his good services during Hajj. Former DGP of A.P. Mr. V. Dinesh Reddy had also given him certificates of merit.

Girl commits suicide after quarrel with neighbours

An 18-year-old girl committed suicide after having a quarrel with her neighbours on some trivial issue.

According to Nacharam police, the deceased Rajni Chowdhary, committed suicide by hanging to the ceiling fan at her residence in Annapurna Colony of Mallapur on Thursday night. A few hours before she took the extreme step she had an argument with the neighbours and was allegedly mentally depressed. (INN)

979 died in Iraqi violence in October

As many as 979 people were killed and about 1,900 injured following violent incidents in different parts of Iraq during October, a statement released by the UN Assistance Mission for Iraq (UNAMI) said Friday.

A total of 852 civilians and 127 members of the Iraqi security forces were killed in terrorist and violent acts in October, while 1,902 people were wounded, including 1,793 civilians and 109 security members, reported Xinhua citing the statement.

Kiran invokes Indira to underline united Andhra Pradesh stand

Asserting that Andhra Pradesh was able to achieve substantial progress as it was a big state which had remained united, Chief Minister N Kiran Kumar Reddy on Friday hoped that the status quo would be maintained even as the Centre proceeds on its decision to carve a separate Telangana out of its territory.

Speaking at the official Andhra Pradesh Formation Day celebrations here, Reddy remarked that the late Prime Minister Indira Gandhi had been a staunch integrationist as he reiterated his views against the state’s bifurcation.

AP govt orders probe in bus fire tragedy

Andhra Pradesh government on Friday night ordered a probe by the Crime Investigation Department into the ghastly bus mishap in Mahbubnagar district in which 45 passengers were charred to death two days ago.

A committee of senior IAS officers has also been set up to investigate the cause of the Volvo bus accident and suggest measures to prevent such tragedies in future.

Chief Minister N Kiran Kumar Reddy reviewed the accident with Transport Minister Botsa Satyanarayana and top officials here this evening.

Sheila Dixit government “indifferent” towards inflation-hit common man: BJP

Delhi BJP’s Chief Ministerial candidate Harsh Vardhan today accused the Sheila Dixit government of showing an “indifferent” attitude towards common man hit by inflation in the festive season.

“Indifferent attitude of the government has broken the back of the people of Delhi. Not a single house is unaffected by price rise and adulteration and the government machinery remains a spectator,” he charged in a statement.

He charged the market was full of adulterated sweets but the government has not raided a single shop.

Dec 16 gangrape: Delhi High Court begins hearing arguments on death reference

The Delhi High Court commenced hearing final arguments in the trial court’s reference to it for confirmation of death sentence awarded to four convicts in December 16 gangrape case.

A bench of justices Reva Khetrapal and Pratibha Rani heard prosecution’s argument on the reference case as well as the appeals filed by all four convicts Mukesh, Pawan, Akshya and Vinay in the case.

The trial court on September 13 had awarded death penalty to all the accused for raping the 23-year-old girl in a moving bus in south Delhi on the night of December 16 last year.

Nothing wrong in Rahul Gandhi’s remarks: Sanjay Nirupam

Rahul Gandhi did not make any wrong statement, Congress MP Sanjay Nirupam today said on the Election Commission’s notice against Gandhi for his remarks that Pakistan’s ISI was in touch with Muzaffarnagar riot victims and charge that BJP was indulging in politics of hatred.

Nirupam, who is also an AICC Secretary, said the party will respond to the EC notice but targetted BJP asking it to first form a consensus over the issue within its own family before protesting against it.
