With the declaration of formation of separate Telangana, Muslims organizations are feeling happy and they are enthusiastic that Urdu will be the second language in Telangana. Brooke Mueller to meet sons under supervision

Socialite-actress Brook Mueller has reportedly been discharged from a rehabilitation centre in California, will meet her sons under supervision here.

Mueller, who was being treated for substance abuse at the rehabilitation centre, is preparing to meet her four-year-old twin sons, Bob and Max from her marriage with ex-husband Charlie Sheen.

She will have monitored visits three days per week with the children beginning as soon as next week, reports radaronline.com.

Naidu and Jagan are shedding crocodile tears- Botsa

APCC President, Mr. Botsa Satyanarayana declared the formation of Separate Telangana a painful process and alleged that TDP President, Mr. N. Chandrababu Naidu and YSR Congress President, Mr. Jagan Mohan Reddy are shedding crocodile tears. He asked Vijayamma to explain her oath taken keeping her hand on the Bible in support of Telangana. He condemned the damaged caused by Seema Andhra activists in Vijaynagaram. He further told that TDP President presented the consent letter earlier but now he is deviating from it. UK mom jailed to 15 years for starving four-year-old son

An alcoholic mother of eight, who starved her four-year-old son to death and left his mummified body in a cot for two years, was today jailed for 15 years.

Amanda Hutton, 43, was found guilty of the manslaughter of Hamzah at Bradford Crown Court yesterday. She was sentenced today for manslaughter, child neglect and preventing the burial of her dead son’s body.

Hamzah died in December 2009 due to severe malnutrition. His mummified remains were found in squalid conditions at their Bradford family home 21 months later.

Minorities observes bandh over torture of teenager

Minorities today observed a shut down in protest against the torture of a teenager by Special Investigation Team (SIT) in police custody in Kishtwar district of Jammu and Kashmir.

On a call given by Sanatan Dharam Sabha (SDS) and BJP, minorities observed a shut down in the town in protest against the torture of 16-year-old Ajay Kumar by SIT in Kishtwar. The youth is undergoing treatment in Government Medical College Hospital in Jammu.

Shah Rukh Khan greeted by New Zealand’s Prime Minister

Superstar Shah Rukh Khan, who is in New Zealand for his Temptation Reloaded tour, was welcomed by the country’s Prime Minister John Key in Auckland.

Not doing Bhupen Hazarika biopic: Irrfan Khan

Actor Irrfan Khan has denied reports that he is playing Bhupen Hazarika in Kalpana Lajmi’s upcoming biopic, saying the role was never offered to him.

There were reports that after enjoying critical acclaim for his performance in “The Lunchbox”, Irrfan has the Bhupen Hazarika biopic in his kitty.

“I was never offered the role. I would love to play him onscreen. He was a great human being with a huge body of work. People like him should be remembered always. But the script should be really strong,” Irrfan told PTI in an interview.

UN team prepares for on-site inspections in Syria

The Organisation for the Prohibition of Chemical Weapons (OPCW) is reviewing additional information received from Syria on its chemical weapons stockpiles to conduct on-site inspections, a UN spokesperson said here Friday.

The OPCW Technical Secretariat received information additional to the disclosure on the chemical weapons programme which Syria submitted Sep 21, Xinhua reported citing UN spokesperson Martin Nesirky.

The OCW secretariat, together with the UN, has formed a team tasked with overseeing the destruction of Syria’s chemical weapons production facilities.

Hafiz Peer Shabbeer Ahmed applauds Home Minister for his statement for Innocent Muslim youths

Maulana Hafiz Peer Shabbeer Ahmed, MLC applauded the step taken by Mr. Sushil Kumar Shinde, Home Minister for writing a letter to all the C.Ms instructing them not to harass the innocent Muslim youths. If they are proved innocent they should be released from jails. Their cases should be heard by fast track courts.

Maulana Shabbeer Ahmed hoped that all the States will behave generously and finalize the court cases by constituting fast track court.

Telangana may be born on 9th December

9th December is the birthday of Ms. Sonia Gandhi. It is possible that the new Telangana State would be born on the same day this year. It may be noted that the then Home Minister, Mr. P. Chidambaram had announced the formation of separate Telangana State on 9th December 2009 but on account of agitation in Andhra region, Congress had deviated from its promise. Now that CWC took a decision and the cabinet also endorsed it, it is quite likely that Ms. Sonia Gandhi may take the credit of formation of separate Telangana.

Pakistan and India to play rugby for peace

Arch-rivals India and Pakistan are to play a rugby final tomorrow, with officials and captains vowing to promote peace through sports.

The final is a rare sporting event between the South Asian nuclear rivals. New Delhi had stalled bilateral sporting relations in the wake of 2008 terrorist attacks on Mumbai, which India blamed on militants based in Pakistan.

Senior BJP leader M Venkaiah Naidu today described BJP’s prime ministerial candidate Narendra Modi as a ‘3D leader’.

Widow, mother sentenced to 3 yrs imprisonment

A local court today sentence a widow and her mother to three years imprisonment in a case of abetment to suicide.

The court also imposed a fine of Rs 5,000 on Gagandeep Kaur and her mother Paramjit Kaur.

Sucha Singh, husband of Gagandeep, committed suicide on July 27, 2011, as he was upset with his wife and mother-in-law who used to harass him and threatened to implicate him in a false case of dowry.

Sucha Singh committed suicide in Jatpura Mohalla in Sirhind where he had come to meet his close relative Kuldeep Singh.

A Delhi Police station house officer (SHO) was suspended for misbehaving with a sexual assault victim Friday, an officer said.

Bhagwan Singh, the SHO of west Delhi’s Uttam Nagar police station, was sent to the district lines on the allegation of the woman who had approached police station to registered her sexual assault case Wednesday.

US, EU trade talks cancelled due to shutdown

The second round of negotiations in the Transatlantic Trade and Investment Partnership (TTIP) was cancelled due to the US federal government shutdown, said the Obama Administration Friday in a statement.

According to the statement, US Trade Representative Michael Froman called European Union Trade Commissioner Karel De Gucht Friday, saying regrettably the ongoing government shutdown will prevent him from proceeding with the negotiations for the TTIP in Brussels, Belgium next week, Xinhua reported.

Tortured teenage domestic help reunited with her mother

It was an emotional moment for the brutally tortured teenage domestic help, who was rescued from a house in Vasant Kunj, as she was reunited with her mother after four years at a hospital here today.

Initially, the girl’s mother appeared dazed as she could not recognise her daughter, as months of agony and suffering had taken its toll.

As she struggled for words, tears rolled down her cheeks and she hugged her daughter.

The mother-daughter duo spoke to the each other in Santhali, a tribal language and had lunch together.

Probe against SHO after girl alleges misbehaviour

The station house officer of Uttam Nagar police station was today sent to district lines and a departmental probe initiated against him after a teenage girl alleged that the SHO misbehaved with her when she had gone to register a case of sexual assault.

“Following a complaint against SHO Bhagwan Singh. He was sent to the district lines and a departmental inquiry has been launched,” a senior police officer said.

On Wednesday, the teenage girl, along with her family, had arrived at Uttam Nagar police station of West district to lodge a complaint of sexual assault, sources said.

No one is winning with shutdown: Obama

As the government shutdown entered its fourth day, US President Barack Obama today said that no one is winning with this shutdown – the first in 17 years – which has resulted in some eight lakh federal employees without any work.

“Nobody’s winning. And that’s the point. We should get this over with as soon as possible,” Obama told reporter as he and Vice President Joe Biden walked out of the White House to a nearby sandwich shop for their afternoon meal.

Syrian rebel groups battle each other in north

Al-Qaida militants battled fighters linked to the Western-backed opposition along with Kurdish gunmen in Syrian towns along the Turkish border today, in clashes that killed at least 19 people, activists said.

The violence is part of an outburst of infighting among the myriad rebel groups opposed to President Bashar Assad for control over prized border areas. Islamic extremist fighters and more mainstream rebels are increasingly turning their guns on each other in what has effectively become a war within a war in northern and eastern Syria, leaving hundreds dead on both sides.

White House blames Republicans for Obama’s trip cancellation

Blaming Republicans for the cancellation of US President Barack Obama’s four nation Asia trip, the White House today said the “completely avoidable” government shutdown was hurting the president’s efforts to promote trade and US influence in emerging world markets.

“The cancellation of the trip is absolutely another consequence of the House Republicans’ decision to force a shutdown of their government. And it’s a completely avoidable consequence of a completely avoidable shutdown,” White House Press Secretary Jay Carney told reporters.
