Death toll in Mazgaon building collapse rises to 60

The death toll in the building collapse in Mumbai”s Mazgaon area climbed to 60 on Sunday.

Deputy Commandant of National Disaster Response Force (NDRF), Sachidanad Gavde, said that special equipments were used to rescue victims, who were trapped under the rubble of the building that had collapsed on Friday.

“We have used special equipments in the operation and are now satisfied that there can be no more victims here. So, we are calling off the operation,” he said.

“Modi has no factor for himself; but only money factor. He has lots of money and delivers money across the state. People like him will become PM only to run country with money,” he added.

Relationship expert Lisa Shield defined emotional infidelity as when a partner went outside the primary relationship to satiate their emotional needs met.

She said that when her husband was into his first marriage, his wife stayed up late into the night talking to her best friend’s boyfriend on the phone.

An illustrator has come up with a comic that deals with the coming of age experience, and the constant commentary that women receive about their body parts.

Ruminating on her experience led illustrator Colleen Clark to think about relationships of women with their breasts as a whole, especially during adolescence.

She has previously said that she wants her comics to showcase experiences that are going to feel familiar to female readers, the Huffington Post reported.

27 killed in Boko Haram attacks in Nigeria

At least 27 people were killed by Boko Haram insurgents in two separate attacks on villagers in a border town in Nigeria’s northeast Borno state, official said Sunday.

The insurgents attacked Gamboru town, 130 km from Maiduguri, the Borno state capital Wednesday and Thursday nights, Xinhua cited Modu Gana Sheriff, chairman of Gamboru local government, as saying.

Sheriff described the incident as heinous crime against humanity, calling on Nigerians to condemn the attack on villagers.

New solar observatory offers new insight into sun’s atmosphere

Solar observatory Sunrise, which was carried aloft by a NASA scientific balloon in early June 2013, has provided unique insights into a layer on the sun called the chromosphere.

Sunrise provided the highest-resolution images to date in ultraviolet light of this thin corrugated layer, which lies between the sun’s visible surface and the sun’s outer atmosphere, the corona.

With its one-meter mirror, Sunrise is the largest solar telescope to fly above the atmosphere. The telescope weighed in at almost 7,000 pounds and flew some 20 miles up in the air.

Morgan, Ang Lee working on Muhammad Ali movie

Screenwriter Peter Morgan is working on a film with director Ang Lee about boxing legend Muhammad Ali.

The movie will be based on Ali’s infamous fights with late US professional boxer Joe Frazier, reports femalefirst.co.uk.

The two boxers fought several historic bouts in the 1970s, and the film will be based around the confrontations between the two heavyweight champions.

Lee hopes to shoot the movie in 3D and incorporate actual footage of the fights.

29 killed in Pakistan car bombing

At least 29 people were killed and 70 injured when a car loaded with explosives went off Sunday near Khan Razaq police station in Pakistan’s Peshawar city, police said.

Six children and two women were among those killed, the Associated Press of Pakistan (APP) reported.

Many vehicles and adjacent buildings were also damaged.

Peshawar commissioner Sahibzada Muhammad Anis said the evidence clearly indicated that explosive material was planted in the vehicle near the police station and was detonated with a remote control devise.

The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) is reportedly set to revive a 20-year-old format of holding first-class and one-day matches together as part of the major changes that have been made in domestic cricket recently. The change will reportedly come into effect in the upcoming domestic season which is likely to start at the end of October. According to the Express Tribune, former captain Rashid Latif had suggested that the tournaments should be held together in a bid to save all the departments” resources, a format which is already followed regularly in domestic U-19 tournaments.
