Congress messed up creation of Telangana: BJP

The BJP Tuesday slammed the government for messing up the creation of Telangana.

“The government has mishandled and messed up the issue,” BJP leader M. Venkaiah Naidu said.

“The Congress is behaving irresponsibly, in an immature manner, arousing regional feelings. Congress leaders in Telangana are distributing sweets, and those in Seemandhra are protesting,” he said.

“They are also telling people in Seemandhra that they were forced to create Telangana by BJP and TDP, and in Rayalseem region they are telling people that TRS will be merged with Congress,” he added.

A blind couple, from Hanford, Stoke-On-Trent, is set to walk down the aisle after they were drawn together by their love-struck guide dogs.

Claire Johnson and Mark Gaffey, both in their 50’s, first met during a two-week guide dog training course, Metro News reported.

Venice, Johnson’s dog, fell in love with fellow service dog Rodd, and the canines quickly becoming inseparable.

Claire and Mark, brought together by Venice and Rodd’s romance, soon became romantically involved themselves and 11 months later the duo have decided to settle down with each other.

Ex-Turkish army chief sentenced to life imprisonment for Ergenekon overthrow plot

Turkey”s former Chief of Army Staff Ilker Basbug has been given a life term for his role in a plot to overthrow the government known as the Ergenekon Conspiracy.

The retired general was one of the most prominent of the 267 defendants in the case. Dozens of others, including several opposition MPs, military figures, academics and journalists, were given prison sentences ranging from 12 to 35 years, CNN reports.

Prosecutors said a network of secular nationalists formed the Ergenekon Plot to overthrow the Islamist-rooted conservative government of Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan.

Pak court defers Musharraf’s indictment in Bhutto murder case

A Pakistani court has adjourned the hearing of former president Pervez Musharraf in Benazir Bhutto murder case after he failed to appear on time for the hearing over security reasons. Drone strike kills four al-Qaeda militants in Yemen

Border Action team of Pak Army killed Indian Army soldiers

The Border Action Team (BAC) of the Pakistan Army, comprising of militants and Pakistan Army regulars, organised the ambush and killing of five Indian Army soldiers, sources here said on Tuesday.

According to sources, the five dead soldiers were part of a six-member patrol team, and belonged to the 21 Bihar Regiment.

Sources further revealed that after carrying out their attack, 15 to 20 Pakistani soldiers fled back across the Line of Control (LoC) to their defensive positions under cover of heavy gunfire provided by well armed terrorists.

Pakistan has violated cease-fire 57 times in 2013

The Pakistan Army and its affiliates have violated the cease-fire established in November 2003 57 times in 2013, which is almost 50 per cent more than the violations that took place in the previous year, sources said.

According to sources, effective counter-infiltration measures along the border separating India and Pakistan resulted in 17 bids being foiled.

The sources further stated that between July 1 and August 6 this year, 19 terrorists have been killed.

Intelligence reports point to terrorists concentrating in areas opposite the Macchal, Tangdhar, Keran and Kupwara areas.

Egyptian government offers Muslim Brotherhood three ministerial posts

Egypt”s military leaders have offered to include the Muslim Brotherhood in the country’s political process.

The Muslim Brotherhood leaders will get three ministerial posts in a unity government and frees some members from prison. According to the Guardian, a security source close to the discussions confirmed the substance of the discussions. However, the Egyptian military and the presidency later denied that talks had taken place, or that any offers had been made to the Brotherhood.
