A show insider confirmed to RadarOnline that the 22-year-old single mother landed the role after sending in audition tapes.

The source said that Abraham initially wanted one of the lead roles, but because she’s not a seasoned actress, she auditioned for the role of a hooker named Destiny.

According to News.com.au, Hyon, was among a dozen well-known performers executed with machineguns as they were accused of filming themselves having sex and selling tapes.

`shark that can walk` on ocean bed!

A ‘walking shark’ has been discovered by scientists off the coast of Indonesia.

Rather than swim, these slender-bodied sharks can ‘walk’ along the ocean floor by wriggling their bodies and pushing with their pectoral and pelvic fins, the Mirror reported.

The brown spotted fish, called Hemiscyllium halmahera, is a species of bamboo shark that can grow to 27 inches in length and lives on the seabed where it hunts marine invertebrates and small fish.

Five arrested for girl trafficking

Five persons, including four women, were arrested for girl trafficking from Chanattari village in Barpeta district of Assam, the police said today.

The five people – Mamtaz Begum, Khenta Begum, Sukurjan Begum, Saniyara Begum and Shafiqul Islam – were arrested last night from Chanattari village in Tarabari police station in Barpeta district.

According to police, the five people have recently kidnapped and sold off a 12-year-girl in Punjab.

She is yet to be rescued, the police said.

5-year-old raped by uncle

A five-year-old girl was allegedly raped by her uncle in Prajapati area here.

The FIR lodged by the victim’s father said the minor was raped by his younger brother last night while the rest of the family was asleep after Janmashtami celebrations.

The medical examination of the girl has confirmed rape, Kotdwar police station in-charge Anil Joshi said.

A search is on to nab the 27-year-old who is at large, Joshi said.

Doctor who helped track Osama bin Laden to face new trial

Shakeel Afridi, the Pakistani doctor who helped the CIA track Osama Bin Laden, is set to face a fresh trial after an official today overturned the 33-year jail term given to him.

Frontier Crimes Regulation Commissioner Sahibzada Mohammad Anees ruled that a judge in the tribal belt had exceeded his authority when he handed down the sentence last year and ordered a new trial.

Anees handed over Afridi’s case to the political agent of the semi-autonomous Khyber Agency. He said Afridi could be released only on the orders of the political agent.

33-year jail term for CIA’s aide Afridi overturned in Pakistan

A Pakistani judicial official Thursday overturned the 33-year imprisonment sentence awarded to Shakeel Afridi, the man who helped the American Central Intelligence Agency (CIA) track down Al-Qaida chief Osama bin Laden in Pakistan, Xinhua reported citing local media.

According to reports, Sahibzada Mohammad Anees, the commissioner of Frontier Crime (FCR) of the country’s semi-autonomous northwestern tribal area of Khyber Agency, declared the previous decision null and void and ordered for a retrial.

Earthquake of mild intensity rock parts of HP

An earthquake of mild intensity today rocked several parts of Himachal Pradesh.

The tremors, which were felt at 3.43 PM, lasted few seconds, the Indian Meteorological Department officials said.

The epicentre of the quake, which measured 4.7 on the Richter scale, was on the border of Hoshiarpur district of Punjab and Una district of Himachal Pradesh.

There was no report of any damage to property or injuries to any person, they added.

Country facing difficult situation: PM

Facing attack over the economy amid sliding rupee, Prime Minister Manmohan Singh today conceded in Parliament that the country was going through a “difficult” situation and had to reckon with the uncertainties created by global factors like “new tensions” in Syria.

Singh made brief remarks in both the Rajya Sabha and the Lok Sabha as concerns were expressed over the rapid depreciation of rupee with the Opposition saying there was panic in the country.

He promised to make a detailed statement tomorrow.

Karnataka has more than 47,000 severely malnourished children, according to government figures.

As per the information made available by Women and Child Development Minister Umashree today, Belgaum district tops the list with 4896, followed by Raichur 4596 and Bellary 3613 in June of the total 47,101.

Hassan has the least at 301 among the 0-6 age category.

The number of moderately malnourished children is much higher at more than 10.86 lakh or 27.42 per cent of the more than 39.63 lakh kids weighed in 30 districts of the State which has a total population of more than six crore.

Karunanidhi urges PM to resolve economic impasse

Former Telecom Minister A Raja today moved a special court seeking a direction to CBI to produce documents, including a direct inquiry report of the Central Vigilance Commission (CVC) now with the agency, in connection with the 2G spectrum allocation scam.

Raja filed an application before Special CBI Judge O P Saini saying that in 2009, an inquiry was conducted by CVC into the allegations of allotment of 2G spectrum by Department of Telecommunications (DoT) and on October 12, 2009, CVC had forwarded its direct inquiry report to CBI.

Yamuna Expressway accident kills four

Four people were killed Thursday when a speeding car headed from Azamgarh in Uttar Pradesh headed towards New Delhi toppled after one of its tyres burst, police said.

Police and the Expressway Authority shifted the three who were seriously injured to a hospital in Noida.

The tragedy took place at the Tappal inter-change on the Expressway in Aligarh district. A relative of a Bhartiya Janata Party MP in Uttar Pradesh was said to be among the dead.

Rupee recovers, rises 170 paise to 67.10 against dollar

The rupee on Thursday recovered from its all-time low of 68.75 to the dollar, rising 170 paise to Rs. 67. 10 against the dollar in early trade.

The rise was attributed to fresh selling of the US currency by exporters and banks.

The Nifty rose 0.6 per cent while benchmark 10-year bond yields fell 15 basis points to 8.81 per cent.

BJP critical of UPA’s handling of Indian economy
