Chairman of the AP State Haj Committee Jananb Syed Kahleeluddin Ahmed has assured that as many as 7527 pilgrims from the state would go to Haj this year as the Union Ministry of External Affairs has decided not to apply the 20 per cent cut in the total number of pilgrims on the selected pilgrims of the Haj Committee.

Minister D Sridhar Babu has asserted that formation of Telangana State will be possible only with the Congress, which is a National party.

BJP senior leader Venkaiah Naidu claimed that his party would come back to power in the 2014 elections.

Talking to the media here on Sunday, he said the people would not vote for the UPA which buried itself in scams. He has expressed the view that most parties had turned into family organizations and asserted that it was strength of commitment that was needed and not heredity in politics. He advised the media to encourage ideology-based politics. He said it would be degradation of character, if those who talk about policies and principles change parties.(NSS)

TRS MLA Jupalli Krishna Rao has said Congress was adopting a sadistic attitude towards Telangana.

Congress MP Ponnam Prabhakar has made it clear that there was no link between the elections and the Telangana Sadhana Sabha being held here today.

Talking to the media, he called upon all the congress workers to work together, for achieving Telangana. He said if the Congress announces Telangana, it would get the strength of thousand elephants. Centre for Urdu Language Literature and Culture of Maulana Azad National Urdu University is organizing a two day seminar on “Detective Literature” and IBN-E-SAFI on 23rd and 24th October 2013. According to a press note issued by Prof. Khaled Sayeed, Director of the Seminar, the objective of the seminar is to provide a common platform for professors and research scholars for the cross fertilization of ideas on the tradition of detective novels in Urdu with special reference to the detective novels written by IBN-E-SAFI under the title “Jasoosi Duniya”.

Mr. Syed Mohammed Ali of Surat in Gujarat compiled a directory of All India Muslim Colleges in the country. This directory was released in a special function held in Hyderabad yesterday. He said that such an attempts are made earlier also but after protest such attempts were foiled.

In a tragic incident Begum Bazar police station Rakshak vehicle crushed a private security guard Narsimhulu (50 years) resident of Medak district. He was returning home on his bicycle after performing his duty. The police vehicle crushed him at Aikar Bhawan (Income Tax Office) at Basheerbagh.
