Ishrat case: Rajendra Kumar not to be named in first charge sheet

Special Director of Intelligence Bureau, Rajendra Kumar will not be named in the first charge sheet to be filed by Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) on July four as the agency will be seeking more time from court to probe the conspiracy angle in the fake encounter case of Ishrat Jahan and others.

“We have promised the Gujarat High Court that we will file a charge sheet on July 4 in this case and we will maintain our time limit. We will file a preliminary charge sheet,” CBI Director Ranjit Sinha told reporters on the sidelines of an Interpol conference here.

Non Bailable Warrant to 11 TDP MLAs

Kashmir: Policeman killed in encounter with militants

A policeman was killed and two other security personnel were injured in an encounter with militants in Pulwama district of south Kashmir today.

The encounter took place at Tral during a counter-insurgency operation launched by the security forces following information about the presence of militants in the area, a police spokesman said.

A policeman has been killed while another cop and a CRPF jawan sustained injuries in the exchange of fire with the militants, the spokesman said.

India to have satellite-based navigation system by 2015

India will have its own navigational systems like couple of other countries by 2015 and its space agency is in a fast production mode to roll out six more satellites for this purpose, said an official Monday.

“All the seven satellites of the Indian Regional Navigation Satellite System (IRNSS) are identical and the space agency will be rolling them out. Already the second one is getting ready for the year-end or early 2014 launch,” an official at the Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO) told IANS preferring anonymity.

“By studying the variation in parental divorce, we are hoping to learn more about how early experiences predict the quality of people’s close relationships later in life,” Chris Fraley of the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign said.

Boxer Amir Khan left petrified by new wife’s driving

Boxing champion Amir Khan was shaken up after his wife took him for a road trip around his home town of Bolton in her gleaming new sports car.

Khan gifted the 72,500-pound black Mercedes SL to Faryal, 21, to celebrate their wedding, the Daily Star reported.

Faryal, who married the Brit ring king in May, is from New York and is used to American road rules.

The two-time world light-welterweight champion, 26, tweeted: “Just took Faryal for a drive in her new car.”

India set to launch its first dedicated navigation satellite

The Indian rocket that at midnight will deliver the country’s first navigation satellite is being readied for its mission with its second stage getting fuelled at Sriharikota, a senior official at Indian space agency said.

“The countdown is progressing well and the filling of the liquid fuel in the second stage is going on fine. The weather is good and we do not see any hitch in the mission,” the official at the Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO) told IANS Monday.

The 64.5 hour countdown began at 7.11 a.m. Saturday.

Saudi Arabia jails seven for inciting protests via Facebook
