Training of 500 Allahabad Bank probationary officers begins at Amity

The Amity Institute of Training and Development (AITD) has started a three month training programme for 500 probationary officers of Allahabad Bank at the Amity Campus in Noida, Uttar Pradesh. The AITD was selected by Allahabad Bank as part of the MoU signed between AITD and Allahabad Bank to undertake the challenging task of designing, developing and delivering the training program through an intensive and competitive procedure.

Duchess Kate set for expensive baby birth

The Duchess of Cambridge, who is just weeks away from her due date, will reportedly be delivering her baby at a private hospital, where the childbirth and delivery cost can go up to thousands.

Kate’s royal birthing at the Lindo wing of St Mary’s Hospital will apparently cost the royal family more than what is normally paid by most parents-to-be, Sky news reported.

Garlic oil may help ease adverse effects of chemotherapy and radiation

A new study has found that garlic oil reduces the decrease of white blood cells caused by chemotherapy and radiation treatment in mice with cancerous tumors.

The findings of this study support the idea that cancer patients may benefit from consuming garlic oil as a complementary medicine to their treatments.

Further research is needed to assess whether garlic oil could reduce the adverse effects induced by other chemotherapeutic drugs used to treat cancer patients.

The study was published in the Journal of Food Science, published by the Institute of Food Technologists. (ANI)

China passes law forcing kids to visit elderly parents

China is moving a step further by perpetuating their citizens to take care of their elderly parents.

China is adding a new revision to the Law on Protection of the Rights and Interests of the Elderly People, which was passed in December.

It enforces frequent visits to the elderly and forbids any form of domestic violence, such as insulting or discriminatory language, physical torture and abandonment.

The revision has triggered heated debates as it does not specify appropriate number of visits and neither has it specified any punishment on deferring from the law.

25 foreigners arrested in crackdown on pornography, gambling in China

Nearly 25 foreigners have been arrested in a police crackdown on illegal activities in Beijing.

The police warned or fined another 212 in connection with the crackdown on gambling and drug-related crimes.

According to China Daily, authorities said criminal activities ranged from pornography, gambling and since May.

The arrests were part of a wide investigation involving 4,100 people in 410 drug cases and 750 porn and gambling cases. (ANI)

A teacher at a Chinese university asked students to list at least 15 uses of a condom during a final exam.

The question, along with others from Fujian Normal University’s ‘Planning and Creativity’ course exam quickly spread online, provoking heated discussions and inspired answers from netizens.

According to Global Times, many students and teachers said they felt the question was thought-provoking.

Ishrat Jahan case: CBI seeks more security for investigating officers

The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) has asked the Maharashtra government to provide more security to officers investigating the Ishrat Jahan encounter case.

” We have asked Maharashtra Government to provide security to our officers,” CBI Director Ranjit Sinha told media here.

Sinha also vowed to file chargesheet in the case by July 4.

“We have given assurance to Gujarat High Court that we will file our charge sheet by July 4. We will maintain time limit,” Sinha told media here.

AAP candidate hit by speeding car, critical

The condition of Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) candidate from Seemapuri assembly constituency Santosh Koli is critical after she was hit by a speeding car near the Kaushambi metro station in Ghaziabad on Sunday afternoon.

Koli, who has undergone a head surgery, is on life support.

‘Outraged’ France, Germany say US bugging of EU offices ‘totally unacceptable’

France and Germany have asked the United States to come clean over reports that its top intelligence services have been spying on key European Union offices.

A report in Germany’s Der Spiegel magazine said European Union offices in the US and Europe had been bugged by the National Security Agency (NSA).

The magazine claimed that other ‘targets’ included the French, Italian and Greek embassies in the US.

According to the BBC, NSA whistleblower Edward Snowden is said to be the source of the leaks.

IB officer may challenge CBI action if named in charge sheet
