Talking to the media here on Wednesday, he said how could Rajagopal who bought his ticket by giving money to the late Chief Minister Dr. Y S Rajasekhara Reddy would understand the problems of the people. He has declared that there was no need for a resolution by the Assembly for creating Telangana.

He reminded that even a strong leadser like Indira Gandhi could not suppress the Telangana movement.

Odisha to provide self-defence training to girls

The Odisha government will provide self-defence training to 2.5 lakh college girls in the next six months, an official said Wednesday.

The decision was taken at a high-level meeting chaired by Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik in the state secretariat Wednesday.

At least 300 trainers have been shortlisted to provide self-defence skills, including martial arts, to students of colleges of the state, an official at the chief minister’s office told IANS.

While 200 trainers have been selected from colleges, police will provide 100 trainers.

Internet Corporation Yahoo has added Qwiki, a video-sharing app to its list of recent acquisitions of technology companies. 17 killed in U.S. drone strike in NW Pakistan

At least 17 people were killed in a U.S. drone strike launched in Pakistan”s northwest tribal area of North Waziristan in the wee hours of Wednesday, reported local media Geo.

According to the local media reports, the strike took place at about 1: 00 a.m. (local time) when U.S. drones fired four missiles at a house and a vehicle in the Danda Derpa Khel area of Miranshah, a main town in North Waziristan which borders Afghanistan.

Two missiles hit the house while the other two hit the vehicle, said the reports.

Identities of the killed are not immediately available.

Apple stores raided by French authorities over anti-competition policies

Internet corporation Apple’s stores in France were reportedly raided by competition authorities last week. According to Express.co.uk, the raids were conducted as part of an ongoing investigation about Apple’s relationship with its distributors. A firm called eBizcuss, who went out of business last year, reportedly filed complaints with the French authorities and alleged that Apple favoured its own stores at the expense of independent distributors.
