Lover slit beloved’s neck
(Siasat News): An enraged lover slit the neck of his beloved when she refused to marry him. As per the details, Sojanya, resident of Turkaguda village, Ibrahimpatnam, was in love with one Vijay Kumar, her close relative, since last one year.

Due to some reasons, Sojanya refused to marry him. This enraged Vijay and he wanted to take revenge. Today, he called Sojanya to a place and took her to another place on his bike and slit her neck with a blade.

Saudi Arabia: 16 die as torrential rains wreak havoc across Kingdom

(Arab News): Torrential rains and flash floods in different provinces have left 16 dead and three missing.
The casualties include four members of a family in Baha, two people in Al-Kharj, three in Aflaj, one in Hariq and four in Taif, the Civil Defense said Wednesday.

The missing are three expats in Baha. Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Abdullah has directed the Civil Defense Council to launch all-out efforts to ensure the safety of people.

Pakistan police slap murder charges against Sarabjit Singh’s attackers

An official said the accused had earlier told investigators that they wanted to kill Sarabjit as he was allegedly involved in killing innocent Pakistanis in bomb attacks.

Pakistani police on Thursday slapped murder charges against two death row prisoners who were booked for the brutal assault on fellow-inmate Sarabjit Singh, causing injuries which led to his death.

The Lahore Police added murder charges to the FIR registered against death row prisoners – Amer Aftab alias Amer Tambewala and Mudassar – who were booked for the attack on 49-year-old Sarabjit on Friday last week.

The demonstrators are upset with the acquittal of Congress leader Sajjan Kumar in one of three cases in which he is accused of murder and conspiracy in the 1984 riots, in which 3,000 Sikhs were killed.

Maha opposition leader’s son commits suicide

The son of Eknath Khadse, leader of opposition in Maharashtra, reportedly succumbed to his injuries on Wednesday after he shot himself in Jalgaon.

Nikhil Khadse had sustained bullet injuries in the head and his condition was reported to be critical.

He was admitted to the hospital by family members. The doctors later declared him dead, as per news reports.

The motive behind the drastic step is not known, though it is rumoured that Nikhil was not keeping well for over a year.

Special aircraft to bring back Sarabjit Singh’s body

Union home minister Sushilkumar Shinde on Thursday told the family of Sarabjit Singh who died in a Lahore hospital that his body would be flown back to India in a special aircraft.

“The home minister assured the family that a special aircraft would be arranged to bring the body from Pakistan,” said Raj Kumar Verka, vice chairman of the National Commission for Scheduled Castes, who was present when Shinde met Sarabjit’s family here.

Sarabjit’s family is in “complete shock and inconsolable because they can’t believe he is no more”, Verka said.

Pakistan didn’t heed India’s pleas: PM on Sarabjit’s death

Prime Minister Manmohan Singh Thursday said it was “particularly regrettable” that Pakistan “did not heed the pleas…to take a humanitarian view” of the case of Sarabjit Singh who died after being attacked in a Lahore jail.

“Particularly regrettable that the Govt of Pakistan did not heed the pleas…. to take a humanitarian view of this case,” tweeted Manmohan Singh after Sarabjit Singh died Thursday in Lahore’s Jinnah hospital.

Sarabjit Singh was viciously attacked by fellow prisoners April 26 in Lahore’s Kot Lakhpat jail.

10 killed in Iraq attacks

At least 10 people were killed and 37 wounded in separate bombing and shooting incidents in different parts of Iraq Wednesday, the police said.

Three members of a government-backed paramilitary group were killed and 13 wounded in a car bomb explosion in Garma town near Fallujah city, some 50 km from Baghdad, reported Xinhua citing a police source requesting anonymity.

One of the killed was the leader of the group, whose members were gathering at a military base in the town when the blast occurred.

Yasin Malik will not be allowed to stage protest in Delhi: Sources

Kashmiri separatist leader Yasin Malik will not be allowed to stage any protest in New Delhi as announced by him, to press for handing over of the body of Parliament attack convict Afzal Guru to his family.

Official sources said the Home Ministry is likely to advise the Delhi Police to refuse permission to Malik to stage any protest at Jantar Mantar demanding handing over of the body of Afzal Guru who was hanged on February 9 in Tihar jail. A decision to this effect is expected tomorrow.

5 men gangrape 22-year-old woman

A 22-year-old woman accused five people, including two of her brothers-in-laws, of raping her in south Delhi, police said on Wednesday. In her complaint to police, the young woman alleged that she was gangraped by the five men late Tuesday night. The three others involved in the crime were friends of her brothers-in-laws, police said. The accused have all been arrested.

PM Manmohan Singh on Thursday condoled the death of Indian prisoner Sarabjit Singh, who died of severe skull injuries after being attacked by six men in a Pakistani jail.

Shahid Afridi has blamed Pakistan’s one-day cricket captain Misbah-ul-Haq for his exclusion from the Champions Trophy squad, and has vowed to return to the national team.
