New Delhi, May 3 (ANI): Finance Minister P Chidambaram on Friday pitched for a greater use of knowledge and technology to meet the challenges of economic growth and improve the plight of people at bottom of pyramid.

Chidambaram’s address to the Board of Governors of the Asian Development Bank (ADB), which was read out by Economic Affairs Secretary, Dr. Arvind Mayaram, said, India has the ability to take leadership position in the world in the next few decades by evolving into a knowledge society and finding innovative solutions to socio-economic challenges.

A new video shows the “right way” way to eat an apple. According to common practice, there’s one way to eat it, and it’s down to the core.

The clip shows that eating it from the sides is wasteful, and should be eating from the top, the Huffington Post reported

The man gorged nearly halfway through the apple, all without choking on what we normally consider the inedible “core.”

Eating from the top allowed more of the pleasant flesh to encompass the surface of every bite.

The traditional method of eating around “the core” seemed to create a sizable amount of waste.

Sarabjit Singh cremated with state honours, thousands pay final respect

The mortal remains of Indian prisoner Sarabjit Singh, who died after being brutally assaulted in a Pakistani jail, were on Friday consigned to flames in his village with full state honours amid emotional scenes.

A contingent of Punjab Police reversed their arms and then fired shots in the air as a mark of respect to 49-year-old Sarabjit, who died yesterday in a Lahore hospital.

The pyre was lit by Sarabjit’s sister Dalbir Kaur in the presence of his wife Sukhpreet Kaur, daughters Swapandeep and Poonam and son-in-law Sanjay. Dalbir Kaur was assisted by local SAD MLA Virsa Singh Valtoha.

Sarabjit gets a martyr’s send-off

Sarabjit Singh, the Indian prisoner who died after a murderous attack in a Lahore jail, was cremated at his hometown here Friday amid jostling crowds of tearful mourners.

His sister Dalbir Kaur lit the pyre as thousands of people gathered to pay their last respects to the man, condemned as a terrorist in Pakistan and a martyr in India who was given a state funeral.
