Free coaching for EAMCET, NEET 2013

Centre for Educational Development of Minorities is organizing free coaching for EAMCET-NEET 2013. Coaching is being provided at 7 other centers besides Nizam College Hyderabad. Prof. S A Shukoor director CEDM has informed that coaching is provided at Osmania College Kurnool, Andhra Muslim College Guntur besides Nizam College Hyderabad. He told that 400 students have registered their names so far at Hyderabad centre. While 500 candidates have enrolled their names for ICET.

Aged man murdered in Amberpet
(Siasat News): Another incident of murder took place at Ambedkar Nagar in Amberpet where an unidentified aged man was murdered.

People spotted the dead body in the bed of Musi river near a temple that was wrapped in a gunny bag. Police was immediately informed and Assistant Commissioner of Police Malakpet, Mr. Iqbal Siddiqui reached the spot and got the dead body out of the bag.

The deceased was about 60 and was killed by attack ob his head. Police suspect that he might have been killed during boozing.

Benazir killing: 14 days judicial remand for Musharraf

A court in Rawalpindi Tuesday ordered former president Pervez Musharraf to be sent to 14 days judicial remand in the case relating to former prime minister Benazir Bhutto’s assassination, a media report said.

The Rawalpindi Anti-Terrorist Court (ATC) ordered Musharraf to be sent to jail on 14 days judicial remand.

However, Musharraf will be kept at his farmhouse in Chak Shahzad in the outskirts of Islamabad which had earlier been declared a sub-jail, Geo News quoted sources as saying.

Musharraf was not produced before the court Tuesday for security reasons.

Chinese troops erect fifth tent in Ladakh

Showing no signs of withdrawing from the Indian territory after their incursion in Ladakh two weeks ago, Chinese troops have erected an additional tent in the Daulat Beg Oldi (DBO) sector raising to five the number of such structures in the area.

The Chinese troops have also deployed molosser dogs to keep a vigil, according to latest reports on Monday from the site of incursion, 70km south of Burtse in Ladakh division. The reports said the Chinese side have increased the number of tents to five.

Sarabjit Singh remains critical, family meets him again

Indian death row prisoner in Pakistan Sarabjit Singh’s health deteriorated further on Tuesday morning, however his immediate family members were allowed to meet him in the Jinnah hospital in Lahore.

With his condition worsening, the Government of India (GoI) has asked Pakistan to release Sarabjit Singh so that he could be brought back home for treatment.

The GoI also demanded that the attack on Sarabjit be thoroughly investigated to identify those who were responsible and to ensure that they are punished. .

21 killed, 78 wounded in Iraq attacks

At least 21 people were killed and 78 injured in attacks across Iraq Monday, mostly in the Shiite provinces, an interior ministry source said.

Two people were killed and 12 wounded when a car bomb exploded in Karbala, some 110 km from Baghdad, the source told Xinhua.

Meanwhile, at least six people were killed and 14 wounded in another car bomb attack in the Shiite district of Mahmodiyah, 30 km from Baghdad, he added.

Earlier Monday, two cars bombs exploded in a market in Amarah, some 300 km from Baghdad, killing nine people and wounding 30, the source said.

Aircraft crash in Afghanistan kills 7

A civilian cargo aircraft crashed at Bagram Air Field, north of the Afghan capital, soon after takeoff on Monday, killing all seven people aboard, the US-led military coalition said.

The Taliban quickly claimed responsibility for the crash, but the coalition said in a statement to The Associated Press: “Taliban’s claims are false.”

It said the cause of the crash was being investigated by emergency crews that rushed to the site, but there was no sign of insurgent activity in the area at the time.

John thankful to mother for social work

Actor-producer John Abraham says his mother is involved in a lot of social work for humans as well as animals. Ahead of Mother’s Day, which falls May 12, he says she is the best mom one can have.

Act against hate speech makers, Supreme Court tells govt

Holding that hate speeches targeting a section of society were weakening the country’s social fabric, the Supreme Court on Monday urged the central and the state governments to demonstrate courage and proceed against political and religious authors of these speeches. A bench of Chief Justice Altamas Kabir, Justice Vikramjit Sen and Justice Sharad Arvind Bobde told the government that it must have courage to take action against the political and religious leaders making hate speeches against the targeted population.

5-yr-old rape victim dies in hospital

A minor girl who was allegedly sexually assaulted by a 35-year-old man in Madhya Pradesh took her last breath here in a hospital on late Monday evening.

The five-year-old girl was shifted to Nagpur in Maharashtra from Ghansour town in Seoni district of Madhya Pradesh in an air ambulance a week before as her condition was very serious.

She was admitted to Care Hospital in Ramdaspeth area shortly before midnight on April 20.

As per the hospital authorities, the minor died at 7:45 pm today after suffering a cardiac arrest.

Sub plan for BC’s & Minorities under consideration – CM

CM of AP Mr. N. Kiran Kumar Reddy announced yesterday in Sangareddy that Govt. is considering to allocate sub-plans for BC’s and Minorities also on a par with SC’s and ST’s. CM was addressing a gathering after inaugurating “Amahastham” and “Indira Kalalu” schemes. He also announced two new schemes namely, “Bangaru Talli” and “Pacha Thornam” to be implemented from 1st May. Under Bangaru Talli scheme, the mother of the girl child will be given Rs. 2,500 after her birth. The girl can also get scholarship when she goes to school.

Muslim victims of Myanmar unrest face uncertain future

In Myanmar’s central heartlands, justice and security is elusive for thousands of Muslims who lost their homes in a deadly rampage by Buddhist mobs in March.

IPS Verma can stay with CBI for now: Guj HC in Isharat case

Gujarat High Court today allowed CBI to avail the services of state IPS officer Satish Verma in the investigation of the Isharat Jahan encounter case till May 10 and also directed the agency to submit its status report on probe by then. A division bench of justices Jayant Patel and Abhilasha Kumari, after going through the application seeking extension of assistance of Verma till June 30, allowed CBI to continue to avail of his services till May 10. The bench said it would decide whether to let the agency take his service till June 30 after studying the status report of the investigation.

VHP alleges conspiracy by Modi govt to ‘terrorise’ it

Amid clear indications of growing divide between Vishwa Hindu Parishad (VHP) and Gujarat Chief Minister Narendra Modi, the Sangh Parivar outfit today accused the BJP government of trying to “terrorise” it by sending policemen to its now defunct office. The saffron outfit made the allegation in a legal notice sent to the Police Commissioner of Ahmedabad through its advocate Deepak Shukla in which it has cited an incident of five police officers visiting VHP’s office, which had not been used by the organisation in the past 20 years.
