Rani Kumudini continues to function as secretary minority welfare

State government did not sanction leave application of Principal Secretary Minority Welfare I Rani Kumudini. Therefore she has resumed her duties as Principal Secretary Minority Welfare.

Before leaving to serve in union agriculture ministry, Rani Kumudini had applied for leave from Aril 1, but the government is said to have not accepted her leave application in view of Karwan-e-Urdu Virasat arriving at Hyderabad.

It is said that Rani Kumudini has reapplied for leave from April 8 to 24 as the Karwan-e-Virasat-e-Urdu will leave Hyderabad on April 7.

Thane crime branch officer held for accepting bribe

A police officer of the Thane Crime Branch was caught red-handed while allegedly accepting a bribe of Rs one lakh from a complainant, an ACB official said today.

Assistant police inspector Rajeev Shejwal had demanded Rs three lakh from mandap contractor Kailash Awghade of Panchpakhadi area for not registering a cheating case against him for duping people under the pretext of giving jobs, Thane ACB’s official spokesman said.

The bribe amount was later settled at Rs one lakh after a bargain.

Photo Exhibition on atrocities against Burmese Muslims

Vehdat-e-Islami in collaboration with Majlis Tameer-e-Millat is organizing a photo exhibition on Burma Muslims at Eidgah Hazrat Ujale Shah Saheb, Sayeedabad on Friday, April 5, from 5 to 10 pm. Apart from this Qunut Nazila (the Supplication of Calamity) for the victims will be performed in the Maghrib prayer at Eidgah. Entry only for gents.

The exhibition will be open for ladies on Saturday, April 6 from 1 to 9 pm at Jamiatul Banat, Sayeedabad. Besides women will perform Qunut Nazila in congregational prayer for Zohr at 1:30 pm.

Felicitation function of Dr. Ajaz Hussain

A felicitation function was organized by “Fools’ Paradise”, “Bazme-e-Farogh-e-Urdu” of AP and “Aiwan-e-Fankaar” at City College to honour Dr. Ajaz Hussain (Chennai) a prominent Urdu writer and an active member of Punjab Association. Dr. M.Q. Saleem, Vice President of Anjuman-e-Taraqui-e-Urdu presided over the function.

A book on Mr. Suleman Sikandar’s life to be published

Vice President of All India Majlis-e-Tameer-e-Millat Maulana Suleman Sikandar expired on 10th February 2013 in Apollo Hospital after a brief illness. He was associated with the activities of Tameer-e-Millat for more than six decades. His contribution to the reformation of the Muslim Community is well know to people.

In this context, Mr. Mohammed Abdur Rahim Quraishi, President of All India Majlis-e-Tameer-e-Millat has decided to publish a book depicting his life and works in order to make aware of his contribution to the younger generation.

Raja Singh is likely to be suspended from TDP

According TDP sources, the secular leaders of TDP have recommended to Mr. N. Chandrababu Naidu to dismiss Mr. Raja Singh, TDP Corporator from Mangalhat on account of his anti-Muslim activities. The secular image of the TDP was getting affected due his anti-social and anti-Muslim activities.

Parveen Baig transferred to Forest Dept.

Joint secretary in the department of minorities welfare Parveen Baig has been transferred to forest department; he was replaced by Mr. Jaya Prasad an official of forest department. Orders were issued in this connection on Tuesday. Meanwhile Minority Welfare Minister Mohammed Ahmedullah has sent a letter to Principal Secretary Minority Welfare Rani Kumudini, recommending for the appointment of Mahmood Miyan as chief executive officer Waqf Board.

Rohingya Muslims are in deplorable condition in Burma

Rohingya Muslims of Myanmar are leading a miserable life. The Govt. of Myanmar doesn’t recognize them as the citizens of the country. The Muslims of Myanmar are the worst affected persons in the world. In 1948, Burma got freedom from the slavery of the Britishers but the Muslims of this country didn’t yet get freedom.

Playright, Yousuf Safi felicitated in Kadapah

Mr. Rahmathullah, recipient of UNICEF award said that Mr. Yousuf Safi made use of dramas for the Welfare and reformation of society. He is not only human friendly person but also an artist of high celibre.

Mr. Safi was garlanded and a shawl was presented to him. While addressing the felicitation function of Yousuf Safi, he said that Govt. of AP should include Urdu dramas also in Nandi awards. Mr. Yousuf Safi wrote 18 dramas. His contribution is laudable.

International Mushaira of Abhodya (New Ray) in Delhi

The annual Mushaira of Abhodya (New Ray) will be conducted at India Islamic Centre, Lodhi Road, New Delhi at 7 pm on 5th April. IIT and JEE Entrance Test in Warangal

According to Mr. Khalid Sayeed, Director of Jamaat-e-Islami, Warangal accommodation arrangements for seven thousand candidates appearing for IIT and JEE Entrance Tests have been made in various Function Halls, Mosques, Madrasas and Schools.

Seminar on Iqbal in Bidar

Jasmine Pre-University College, Bidar organized a seminar on ‘Iqbal-Poet and Philosopher with the financial assistance from National Council for Promotion of Urdu Language, New Delhi.

Getting beautician work done by other men is prohibited in Islam

Islam has permitted women for their beautification but getting this work done by other men is prohibited, most women go to beauty parlours for Mehendi, Facial, Beautification, Tatoos, Vaxing, Ttreading, Inscribing names on hands or arms is prohibited as per Islamic Shariat.

In all these activities, other men touch the body of a woman which is not permissible in Islam.

CM is alleged for promoting defections

Senior Congress leader and Rajya Sabha MP Mr. P. Goverdhan Reddy made a surprising remark alleging that Mr. N. Kiran Kumar Reddy, CM of AP is encouraging Congress MLA’s to defect from Congress to join YSR Congress Party. He told that Congress President, Ms. Sonia Gandhi is aware of it. He also told that even if 20 MLA’s leave the party, it has no danger because TDP Supremo, Mr. N. Chadrababu Naidu would support the Govt. Mr. Goverdhan Reddy is an MP from Telangana Region. He has been sending reports about the political situation in Telangana area to Congress High Command in New Delhi.

Construction of Shiva Temple near Charminar stopped

The temple committee of Shiva Temple continued its construction activities despite the notice issued by AP High Court. Police intervened and got the construction work stopped.

Mr. Tarun Joshi, Deputy Commissioner of Police (South Zone) told that the Department of Archaeological Survey of India had issued a notice on 21st August 2012 to the temple committee instructing it not to continue any construction activity in the Shiva Temple which is located within 200 metres from the historical monument Charminar.

Makkah Masjid Home guards deprived of salaries

Although government has deployed home guards for the protection of historical Makkah Masjid, but their salary is paid by the Minorities Welfare Department. Due to non-issuance of 4th Quarter Budget of the fiscal year 2012-13, the home guards performing their duty at Makkah Masjid are deprived of the salary for the month of March. If the government does not release the last quarter budget the home guards may be deprived of the salary for further two months.

President to give away National Awards to MSMEs

Pranab Mukherjee will present the National Awards to successful Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) and banks on Wednesday. The National Awards were instituted by the Ministry of Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises in 1983 to felicitate the outstanding performers in the sector in various areas like entrepreneurship, research and development, product quality and innovation, an official statement said.

Three Indians get US award for combating violence against women

Three brothers from India have received the prestigious Vital Voices Global Leadership Award from Vice President Joe Biden for their humanitarian working to end violence against women.

The three, Ravi, Rishi and Nishi Kant, who started the nongovernmental organization Shakti Vahini to fight injustice against women in 2001, received a “Solidarity Award” for their work at the annual Kennedy Centre event Tuesday.

Man sets wife on fire for disagreeing with his choice

A man allegedly set his wife on fire for disagreeing with his choice of youth with whom he wanted his daughter to marry, police said on Tuesday.

The accused, identified as Jagdish Makwana, who hails from Hanumanpura village, allegedly set his wife ablaze on Monday after a heated exchange over the choice of the boy for his 18-year-old daughter, they said.

The victim Madhuben (39) succumbed to her injuries at a hospital in Vadodara on Tuesday. Police registered a case under section 302 (murder) of IPC against Makwana.

Two men allegedly throw acid on four girls

Four sisters were injured in an acid attack by two men on a motorcycle in Shamli district in Uttar Pradesh on Tuesday evening.

Two men on a bike threw acid on the girls as they were returning after serving as invigilators at an exam. Three of them have been severely injured while the fourth sister has received minor injuries.

The girls have been sent to Delhi for treatment. No arrests have been made so far.

Sunita Williams hopes for US-India space collaboration

Hoping that NASA and ISRO will collaborate in the future, US astronaut Sunita Williams on Tuesday said the Indian government should accelerate its space programme as a lot of students and young people are showing interest in the field.

Williams, who holds the record for the longest spacewalk by a female astronaut at 50 hours, 40 minutes, involving seven space missions, said the US and India were developing a positive relationship as far as space was concerned.

Mullah Omar can run for President in 2014 polls: Karzai

Afghanistan President Hamid Karzai wants the elusive Taliban chief Mullah Omar to run for President in next year’s election so that people could “vote for or against him”.

Karzai, in an interview to German daily Sueddeutsche Zeitung published today, said his government had sporadic contacts with the Taliban but that there is no negotiation.

He called on the Taliban to lay down their arms and participate in the political process, the daily said.
